[ hm, perhaps we should take Nathan off the list? I know I haven't been trying very hard, but I don't know where to set him ... XD ]

Nathan woke from his hibernation in a muggy, humid room and a lazy fan puffing at the sticky air. He rose from his bed, throwing off the thin covers in a vain attempt to cool off. Dear Lord, it was hot in here. Desperate to escape the furnace, Nathan exited his apartment room and descended down the stairs, long since abandoned any hope for the dilapidated elevator that the building provided. He made a nice racket down the stairs before he arrived at the ground level, glancing around the city nervously. As a half-demon, he was often ostracized as a freak.

Understandable.

Nathan stepped off onto the sidewalk and meandered aimlessly throughout the city, searching for something to do. He just didn't want to be home.

Lilith watched the argument unfold while clutching her stomach. Well, this was interesting. It seemed that these two had some history. She was tempted to ask -- and perhaps force -- it out of Ragne, but she knew that wouldn't end well for either of them. Besides, she'd never to that to a fellow Demon. Who would ever do that? She trailed after him, then, as he helped Kiro out of the way. Lilith stalked past Faust and Brea, nearly baring her teeth at Faust. She was going to get him back for this.

"Who's this?" Lilith asked curiously as Naomi entered her vision. It seemed that Ragne was too busy with Kiro, however, and she left him to it. Lilith, on her part, sat down on a cement step and clutched her stomach, which was still rolling uncomfortably. She could even feel a bruise beginning to blossom around her abdomen. "I'm going to [i]kill-ll-ll-ll hi-iii-iii-im ... " Lilith muttered into her knees, curled around her stomach.

Raven entered the city. As soon as she did, she felt a huge blast of heat fit her. She let a smile spread over her lips. How she lived the heat. From a distance, she could see a male figure. Hope filled her. Could this be a one in a trillion chance.
"Hello?" She questioned out. Raven knew he could hear her. Since her voice echoed back.

Kiro was dead tired and more then a bit pained, all around in no shape to ve giving an explanation for why he had been so tempted to bother Faust. In his defense Kiro hadn't known just how powerful Faust was, mot that the demon could heal himself, and if that damned second Angel hadn't appeared he would have been alright. But no, Kiro was idiotic and foolishly spent the tiny amount of strength he had regained in sending a mental message to Faust. He wouldn't have noticed he had been placed on the ground if it hadn't been for others' thoughts, so far gone his usual senses were. Hearing, in his head, that Range was going to snap his shoulder back into place, Kiro amost begged him -mentally- not to, barely restraining himself. It hurt badly enough already, thank you very much. His spine arched and Kiro's small form jerked and spasmed for a moment as the muscele and bone moved, and he would have shrieked if he had the strength to. Immediatly going limp onto the ground again, Kiro havebeen all to happy to just sleep there for a few days. But such was not to be.
Not...now. Was all he could force out, telepathically, to Range as for why he had done what he had. There were few times when Kiro would admit to being too weak to do something, right then wasone if them.

Naomi blinked slowly, watching the female demon distrustfully, as she did every demon. She wondered, briefly, exactly how getting punched by an angel would feel like, but decided that she really, really didn't want to know.

"I'm bored again!" Jane complained loudly, and Naomi winced, the return of her 'friends' much less than pleasant. She wanted to whisper at them leave me alone, but with a group of demons surrounding her she didn't want to look... too crazy. Ragne suddenly turned to her, and, too startled to do nothing but obey, Naomi kneeled down and held Kiro down as best she could, though it was a bit awkward, counting as how the shoulder were probably the most convenient place to put her hands, and that was obviously out of the question.

Naomi winced again as Kiro thrashed and then went eerily still, taking her hands off of him immediately afterwards and drawing her knees to her chest, as if mortified.

"You're such a baby," they both hissed at her, and Naomi rested her chin on her knees, trying to ignore the pounding in her temples.

Jake nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard a voice ring out from behind him, Holy mother of God! Jake thought as he spun around pointing his gun at the girl, why he didn't see her earlier he didn't know. He watched her with hard eyes, he couldn't tell if she was a demon or not and he cursed in his head for not paying closer attention to Mindy who was teaching others how to spot a demon from an angel and so on. He never really thought that he would need it, he was foolish to think that he would be separated from his group.
When the girl ask who he had been talking to, his mouth went a little dry. His body was still tense and he wasn't about to relax just yet, "No one, just myself." He said as he looked the girl up and down again, he found her attractive but he wasn't going to give into his feelings just yet since if this girl was a demon or an angel they could play on that and use it against him.
Jakes eyes snapped back up to the girls eyes when she told him her name, he looked down at her hand then back up at her and shook his head slightly. "Sorry but you don't know me and I don't know you, how do you know that if I shook your hand that I wouldn't take advantage of that moment and kill you?" He asked still pointing the gun at her, though it nagged at him to give her his nickname since she had been kind so far. "You can call me Jay." He said a little bit softer then how he spoke before.

Brea felt her heart flutter for a moment as he looked at her to listen to what she had to say. Though she noted that he was annoyed and was probably little touchy at the moment. Best I get straight to the point. she thought as she looked at him, his eyes were captivating, they seem to tell stories of what he saw and did but mostly of all they showed that he was vary old. She bit the inside of her lip feeling nervous yet again, "I was wondering if you would join me." She said as she looked at him, though the small movement that she could see from the corner of her eye was distracting. She could smell the demon near by and was glad that it stayed away since she would kill it if it came closer.
Brea shook herself mentally as she tried to focus on what she had to say, "I mean, I need someone who has my back when trouble arises. Not long before I started to seek you out I was nearly killed by an old and strong demon, it made me realize that having someone close at hand was needed." She explained, hoping that he would see the reason in it since he needed the help as well. As she waited for Faust to answer she heard the nearly silent sound of wings flapping, it was faint but it was there. Angel wings? Brea thought as she looked around in the sky but couldn't see anything, she wondered where the soft sound was coming from since she didn't see anyone. Maybe they're further away then I think they are. She thought as she looked in the sky again, she had a small feeling in her stomach that someone was slightly above them thought she wasn't sure.
She looked back at Faust and smiled ever so slightly as she waited for his answer.

((So Bad, I had Brea hear his wings flapping..... Not sure what you would wanted to do with that but its there if you want to use it :) ))

Faust blinked slowly, the words processing in his head with some difficulty. It'd been a long time since anybody had asked him to join forces. "Join you," Faust repeated slowly, mulling it over. "You want me to join you?" Of course, he thanked Brea for her held, and couldn't help but miss the times when the entire garrison of angels was at his side, helping him fight... but could he stay... tied down. More importantly, couldn't Brea keep up with somebody like him?

"I am... flattered that you think I am a worthy ally," Faust said, choosing each word carefully. He actually wasn't very flattered at all -- I mean, he was powerful. Who wouldn't want him on their side, right? "But I travel alone." He turned around, his back to Brea as he brushed his fingers across his cheek, healing the burn there that the phoenix had given him. Only... it didn't work. Faust, immediately, became hopelessly confused, staring at his hand curiously.

Faust had never really bothered to examine his human form too closely, but apparently there was some wear-and-tear that humans constantly took on their body when they were fighting. He saw little cuts, bruises, callouses, and blisters on his hands, all healing rather slowly, as if his ability was a bit overloaded. He frowned -- this was never something he had noticed before. How long would he have to wait until his body was fully restored? He scowled, thinking of when his body was nothing but light and energy and space, morphing back together as soon as it blew apart. He didn't have to worry about waiting around in his true form. He could fight for hours -- but now, only a few minutes of battle and one of his powers, perhaps the most useful, was over-used and deteriorating.

Faust snapped out of his reverie suddenly, turning back to Brea, not exactly with a change of heart, but a suggestion. He could understand the need for a partner, even if he, himself, didn't think he needed one. "You should find someone else," he said lightly, accidentally stating the obvious in a way only Faust could. He was hypocritical in the sense that his brain didn't work quite as well as others, but he often looked down on them as if everyone was a simpler being.

Ragne sighed as Kiro's body fell limp and he received the faint mental message. Today, had started out extremely bumpy. He turned his attention to Lilith as she too was injured. He bent down and picked up her face slowly so they were ye to eye. Instead of relaying the message to her he looked deep into her eyes, and since demons had control of when they could open their depths, he hoped she would allow him to explain what he needed without Naomi hearing.. If she chose to open her eyes, this is what she would see...

Pain. Imminent pain. Death. Her face, cold dark. Faust taking flight, like it was nothing. Like it was just something so minuscule, so easy. Finding Naomi. Needing her help, but realizing she needed his much more. Wanting Lilith to help in aiding the spirits within her. To try to command them to silence. Kiro helping, by understanding through mind reading. All the demons, for once, all though he hated the idea working together.

After all of that would be said, Ragne would sever the thoughts, and return to speaking allowed, so all could hear. But he needed the young demon to understand. This situation... It was not an easy one. He hoped Lilith would open her thoughts to his.

Thankfully, Demi had been expecting the gun, otherwise she probably would have jumped about two feet. She had seemed to scare easier as a human, and jumped even when she knew something was coming. Thank the devil it didn't happen this time. That would have shattered her trust aura and she would have had to start all over again with strengthening it. She tried to snatch some more thoughts from his head, but all she got was a feeling of anger. Stupid weak powers! She only got to pick up the strongest of new thoughts and she got to feel their feelings. She couldn't o any of the cool stuff her Demon brethren got to do.
The man was tense, and his answer to her first question was snappy. When he looked at her again, she could tell he was trying to figure out what she was. When he looked at her face again, she batted her dark eyelashes at him, giving him her most innocent green-eyed look. He refused to take her hand, so she dropped it to her side. "I believe in learning on the job. But now I know you won't, because you didn't even take my hand." She gave him her best smile.
"You can call me Jay." Bingo! That had to be a nickname, so obviously her trust aura was working. "Jay it is." She grinned at him. "So now that we know each other, can you put the gun away?"
