Nathan woke from his hibernation in a muggy, humid room and a lazy fan puffing at the sticky air. He rose from his bed, throwing off the thin covers in a vain attempt to cool off. Dear Lord, it was hot in here. Desperate to escape the furnace, Nathan exited his apartment room and descended down the stairs, long since abandoned any hope for the dilapidated elevator that the building provided. He made a nice racket down the stairs before he arrived at the ground level, glancing around the city nervously. As a half-demon, he was often ostracized as a freak.

Understandable.

Nathan stepped off onto the sidewalk and meandered aimlessly throughout the city, searching for something to do. He just didn't want to be home.

Lilith watched in amazement as the Angel bowed onto his knees, impressed of Kiro's ability. The Angel seemed to be having a terrible time. It was awesome. She grinned and turned back to Kiro and supported him, saying, "Clearly. Hey. Your name is Kiro, and you're a Demon. And you're awesome. Remember that." Returning his grin, Lilith rose and began to help him when Faust out of nowhere decided to break the control and leap up to take hold of Kiro and make a threat. For a moment Lilith bit her lip, unwilling to reveal her ability so soon after coming to the human realm, but she figured after about two seconds that she would have to eventually.

"Look at me," Lilith commanded him, momentarily forgetting Kiro could hear her too. Somewhat panicked, she pressed her hands around his ears before turning back to glare at the Angel, willing him to concede. She didn't know how her powers compared to Kiro's...

Naomi stood, pressing her lips together as she focused on not falling and keeping her knees from shaking. She regarded the demon, dropping her arm away from his hand, looking at him not... fearfully, exactly, but warily. She was cautious. But she was note stupid. She knew making a Demon angry was probably not the smartest thing to do.

"I'm Naomi," she murmured, and dropped her gaze, knowing that anyway that she said what she was thinking would off a bit offensive. She heard Jane and John whispering to each other in the corner of her mind, and her gut clenched. Right, this what was she needed to say. "Why would I go with you?" she asked suddenly, not sounding angry, but genuinely curious. "I called off an army of the dead from ripping you to shreds. They always scream at me, beg me to let them go. I hear voices and I-- I've killed people. On accident. Because I can't control it." Her voice wavered for an instant, and she drew in a shaky breath, trying to keep herself from crying, because that was one thing she definitely, definitely did not want to do. "That's what being one of you has given me so far." Naomi still sounded surprisingly calm -- not accusing, but matter-of-fact.

Faust paused, his eyes flickering to Lilith. He could see others around him -- a woman behind him, a demon boy, two other girls in the distance (one was the human, but he didn't know who else) -- but these people didn't seem to matter. Lilith was important to look at. She needed to be looked at.

But why? Faust asked himself, as he felt his grip on Kori's shoulder relaxing. Why is she so important? And then it clicked. More mind control. More? How many demons could control him? How many could do this, kill him, take turns holding him down? How long would it take to break him? He had never been the smartest angel... could he resist it all the time?

Faust, once again, felt a bitter resentment at being stuck on Earth, his powers weakened, his mind compromised by demons. "You will not touch my thoughts again!" he roared, shoving the demon boy out of his way, instead aiming a super-powered blow for the side of Lilith's face.

[[ He really is... xD He just needs a hug. I mean, yeah, he may throw you twice across the world for it but maybe he'll feel a little better. ]]

Kiro was ignorant of two things for a few precious moments too long.'The first mattered a little less, and that was that a second angel had appeared in the distance. She was far enough away that Kiro couldn't quite make out her thoughts, jst her general emotions and the simple fact that she was there. Pethaps if he had noticed he would have just flat out run, which would have saved him from the second thing. The second thing was that Faust could heal. So overwhelmed by the sheer joy of having his mind mostly to himself, Faust remebering that he could heal himself was a thought that Kiro missed. Before he reazed that Faust's head was clear, the hand and it's iron grip closed closed over his shoulder. Though he did squirm, Kiro found that his small self could not escape the angel's clutch.
"It was worth it.. to make an angel bow before me." Kiro forced the words out just before his fourteen-year-old bones gave way to Faust's grip, cracking and breaking with a sickening crunch. Kiro barely managed to restain himself to a pitiful yelp, feeling blood begin to ooze around his shoulder and through his shirt. Kiro had taken a lot of injuries in his life, a young one for a demon at just over a millenia and a half, and hecould take pain well. But having his shoulder smashed it was quite agonizing.
"Is that... r-really a smart idea?" Pain made him stammer, but he meant it.He was tired mentally, true, but Faust probably was, physical healing or no, after that. Making himself concentrate, a difficult feat given he was literally being held up by a crushed limb, Kiro almost teasingly connected their minds again, just for a second. A warning, that he could potentially ravange the angel's mind again. Assuming he could put together the strength and the pain wouldn't distact him too much, along with that Faust's mind would have weakened at all. None of which Kiro could be sure of

In the same moment that Kiro once again connected his mind and the angels, the grip on his broken shoulder loosened, and before he could blink he was thrown to the side. Having been quite preocupied he had mostly missed the effect of Lilith's words. Gasping again as his new injury hit the groung, tired limbs having collapsed beneth him, it took the young demon a second to look up and se Faust attacking Lilith, who had probably just saved him. Not going to happen, or so Kiro hoped he could stop. His own mind screamed not to, but Kiro made it reach out for a third, sickening time. The intent was to slow Faust down, not much else, so Lilith could beat him. Once again, hopefully.

Kay allowed a breeze to travel across the field to where the demons and angel were standing. Reaching out with a tendril of wind, she wound it around Kiro's form as Faust shoved him away in favor of pouncing on Lilith. It was just enough to keep the demon immobilized for a few moments. While she disliked the fact that the two demons were tag-teaming Faust, she was also rather unwilling to give away her abilities. This way, it would only seem like a natural occurrence, simply a strong breeze and a loss of vertigo. Besides, it didn't look like Faust enjoyed feeling weak and at the mercy of someone else, so the brunette wasn't sure how he'd react to her interference. At the same time, she set to work chilling the air around Lilith's lips, careful not to overdo it, only wanting to distract her slightly from her freaky persuasion abilities.

A slight shudder passed through Kay as she thought about the two. They were a disturbingly fitting duo, both armed with mind control. The idea of them being anywhere near her mind was revolting — the obstinance of her personality made her, above all, detest being forced to do anything against her will.

Slowing the wind down to a faint breeze, she prayed she didn't start to hiccup, or anything that would cause random breaks in her control.

Lilith swore aloud when Faust decided that her mind control wasn't as great as Kiro's. Understandable. Hers traveled by sound rather than direct connection with brain waves. She really should've seen this coming. Well, at least Kiro had a second to catch his breath. He'd better get a hold of himself soon. With speed that was inhuman but still painfully slow for a Demon, Lilith swerved to the side and lunged towards Faust, barely missing his blow and feeling the air slap against her face as she passed him. Merciful Satan how strong was this guy? He didn't even hit her and the very air was somewhat painful...Scowling, Lilith turned back to Faust. She needed eye contact. Eye contact. Come on...

"LOOK AT ME!" Lilith shouted, hoping that he would listen this time. Her voice probably was heard for quite a few feet around her. Her screaming voice was quite impressive. Not waiting to see if he listened, Lilith shouted at him forcefully, "STOP! NOW!" For good measure, she made to grab his shirt front and try and force him to look at her--for whatever good that would do. Lilith had little muscle comparatively to others.

Jake had been separated from his group for a little over a week now and he wasn't sure if they were alive or not, he hoped that they were alive but the demons surprised them. He shook his head as he tried to get the memories out of his head of the all the blood and screaming the he saw and heard. "Please....." He whispered under his breath as he didn't want anyone to hear him, he had no idea why he said the word but all he knew was that he needed someone. He wasn't much of a thinker and he needed guidance since he was constantly second guessing himself, sure he was fast and strong but that could only get him so far and he knew it.
Jake looked around the ruined street making sure it was clear of demons and the like, he hated both demons and angels as they destroyed the world he loved. They took everything from him including his parents, "They should all die." He said under his breath angerly, he looked around once more before confirming that the way was clear.
He quickly sprinted to a building and hid once again, he wasn't going to take a chance of being caught or worse.... killed. "Oddly calm today." He said to himself, he realized that he needed someone that way he wouldn't be a crazy person talking to himself. But it was true it was an oddly calm day, he didn't even see the annoying short blonde haired angel girl. She had been following him for a while but not the last two weeks, he wondered if that why the demons attacked his group because there was no angel to protect them. The thought nearly sicked him, he didn't want to rely on a bloody angel for protection. Jake shook his head and looked around again wondering where everyone was.

Brea felt the pull of Lilith's words but they didn't have a great effect on her like it did the others, she could "see" through it which helped her alot when she came across mind reading/controlling demons. She could see the lie's they spread in peoples minds that bent even the most seasoned angel warrior to their will. She looked at the demon that Faust had thrown to the side and could see that he was going to try again to control his mind,
"I wouldn't do that if I was you demon!" Brea's voice rang out to the demon, her voice sounded like a lullaby soft and gentle, well at least that's what the humans told her. She watched the demon before walking a little closer, she knew things were exploding out of control as both sides tried to gain the upper hand. She could see that Faust needed some help and she would give it regardless if he wanted it or not.
Brea sprinted to the demon that Faust had thrown, she was by the demons side in a matter of milliseconds. She grabbed his arm and ran back to where she was before, she tossed him slightly in front of her so she could look at him.
"I'm sorry to inform you, but you are going to have to deal with me." She said with a slight smile on her face that showed her sweeter side which was a show to make the demon nervous. Though she was sure he could see that in her mind, not that she cared since she could "see" through his influences for the most part and since he was weakened she had the upper hand. This knowledge was power in itself, "Ready yourself demon as I will not be easy on you." She said with a slight hiss, why she liked "fair" fights she didn't know maybe it was because of the satisfaction she got later when she won.

Kiro probably greatly underestimated the little tweak he gave Faust's mind.
There is something to understand about Faust. Fighting is the only thing he is good at. He cannot speak well and he is not very bright, so any swing he makes at a demon (or anything else), he puts his full power behind. He puts his heart, and his mind, and his soul behind any punch he throws, turning it into a near unstoppable force that has terrible consequences when it it stopped. Even for a second.

Faust swung for Lilith again, but the moment that Kiro made that split-second connection, the moment that Lilth grabbed him by the shirt and commanded him again, Faust's hand Stopped, for just a moment, but it was enough. For every action, there is an equal an opposite reaction. Faust learned that the hard way. His entire being, focused on pummeling Lilith within an inch of her life, suddenly rebounded back on Faust and he didn't just crumple this time -- he threw himself back, ripping from Lilith's grasp, landing on his back with a sickening thud. His spine arched painfully and a pained, animal-liked growl ripped throat his throat, his entire body stiffening before going limp.

Because the only thing that can truly hurt Faust is himself.

Faust, somehow, rolled over onto his stomach, his hands gripping his head so tightly it was surprisingly he wasn't crushing his own skull. He was shaking and trembling and groaning, completely broken, his eyes tightly closed as he curled his legs up to his chest. The fetal position? Faust couldn't think, couldn't breath, he only focused on the pain that he couldn't seem to heal -- because he was already, physically, perfectly healthy. His mind, however, was not.It was ruined.

Oh my gosh, I'm seriously considering, like, amnesia-Faust. That'd be amusing... what do you guys think?

For a moment Lilith didn't understand why Faust was on the ground writhing like he was being electrocuted, but after a few moments she found she didn't much care. Another Angel had come along, and they had taken hold of an already weakened Kiro. Snarling, Lilith opened her mouth to say something else before closing it and frowning. This Angel seemed unaffected by Lilith's speaking. How annoying. Snarling, Lilith bent down and seized Faust, hoping to lift him and use him as a barter. Lilith hoped he was easy to kill, just in case. For good measure, she murmured into his ear (a difficult task, since he was squirming all over the place) "Listen to every word I say. Do not disobey. Do not keep your free will." Do not collect two hundred dollars, she finished in her head, but of course she couldn't say that. Saying anything that she didn't want specifically might complicate things. Hoping that her voice had enough effect, she commanded the rather disturbingly twitching Faust, "Get up."
