Number †
Pup #3

Three Things about Chimeras †

-Originally, before the crystal crashed onto Edhanastian, the Chimera were great wolves
-After this mutation occurred, these chimera's gained new powers like telekinesis, and became something similar to empaths.
-Female chimera, unlike the males, lack spikes on their backs

How did the Chimera's appear in the Planet? †

They used to be wolves that lived on the freezing mountains of Edhanastia. When the meteor hit the planet, the energy the meteor crash exerted changed everything. When the wolves found the crystal hidden inside the meteor, they sensed the power in it and took it back to the mountains where they lived. Soon, the wolves started growing mutations such as horns, thicker fur, longer claws, and spikes, thus becoming what is now known as the chimera.

Where do the Pantherberi live? †

The Pantherberi live in the Nevermore Forest, where huge dark black trees reside.

What are the Glass Mountains? †

The current home of the Chimera. Their rocky structure was changed when the crystal hit the planet, and it became pure crystal and gained a glass like effect.

Basics †

Name: Orestes
Nickname: Ores, Tes
Age: Puppy (Adolescent in story))
Gender: Male
Species: Chimera

Meaning of Name †

USAGE: Greek Mythology
OTHER SCRIPTS: Ορεστης (Ancient Greek)
PRONOUNCED: o-RES-teez (English) [key]
Meaning & History
Derived from Greek ορεστιας (orestias) meaning "of the mountains". In Greek myth he was the son of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra. He killed his mother and her lover Aegisthus after they killed his father.

Status †

Fighting: Average
Generally, he's a good fighter, but only when he's in a particularly tough battle will he work harder at it.
Hunting: Clever
He's extremely clever when it comes to hunting, and it rares that you find him in a speck of trouble when doing so.

Body †

Build: Sleek and lean
He has a decent amount of muscle working up his length. He's slightly taller than a normal chimera with larger paws.
Fur: Smooth, medium length
Eyes: A light ice blue with a haze of lighter blue over top
Marks: No defining marks

Personality †

Outside: Strong, fierce, and unforgettable, Orestes won't let you go without having you repeat his name. He's cold and sarcastic upon first encounter, but as you listen to him more and more, you find yourself unwittingly drawn into him. He has emotions to. Despite his cold front, he blushes with embarrassment, and he smiles in sheepish guilt. He's compassionate around younger chimera, and he has a soft spot for them. He dislikes watching cruelty, but he's not uncommon to it either.

He himself can be quite cruel to. Merciless and unforgiving, he generally won't let you speak the lies that linger on the tip of your tongue. Even if what he says are mean, and seem undeserving, his words have a speck of truth in them. It's rare you'll find him lying to you outright, or just insulting you for his own benefits.

Inside: Having a dark soul, he's not as pure as he wished he could be. He cares deeply for younger Chimera, and he looks up to them in hopes that they'll grow up unlike him. Without having tainted paws and a bitter tongue. His cruel and harsh words are just a cover to hide that he really cares. Sure, he means them through and through, don't get the wrong idea. But he also wants you to understand. Life isn't pretty. So learn fast. He's wary of people who have a keener sight than most, and are able to see through to his dark soul. He won't back away from them, but he won't take them up either. He's smart enough to keep at bay.

He has a sharp temper that's often un-kept, similar to that of the cold winds of the chimera's home. Bitter and frigid, he'll ignore you and basically act as if you didn't exist should you get on his bad side. Should you further irritate him, he would turn on you with a ferocity that's quite unbecoming. He's aware his temper is probably his weakest point, but like the fool he is, he doesn't care. He'd rather walk to his own beat in times of struggle rather than someone else. All in all, he could use some work. If there's a female out there with a strong heart, and a strong mind, then surely she could soften the edges around his heart.

Relationships †

Family: Living/ 6 siblings
Offspring: None
Breeding Status: Available
Relationships: Open

Sire/Mother †

Arbatel
Haseus

Story †

He stared up at the cold, gray sky. The snow drifted down, it's icy fingers touching his spine and causing a tremble to race through his body. He sighed and his breath misted before him. It was only natural that, for one such as himself, the cold weather be welcoming.

And yet... He felt a forbidding omen lurking within the blanketing white.

Winter had arrived quicker than usually on Edhanastian. Behind him, a barren landscape scattered with the rare green tree waited silently, as if watching his back. He padded forward, the snow clinging to the long fur on his paws. He grimaced, clicking his tongue slightly with irritation. He didn't hate the snow, but as each flake clung to his fur, it melted and caused his fur to thicken as it froze again. It would be painful when it unfroze again. He sighed and continued walking, a trudged path of footsteps behind him showing his previous path.

It was his duty, for today at least, to hunt for the prey that would feed his family. His mother and father, two fine chimera that went by the names Arbatel and Haseus, were back at the Glass Mountains where his other brothers and sisters prepared for the long winter storm that whispered over the neighboring mountains. They had sensed it weeks before, but it wasn't until later that they realized how big of a storm it would be. He grumbled irritably, flicking his long bushy blue tail through the air. He had always gotten the short end of the stick. Why did he have to hunt before the storm? What if he got caught in it? Or got surrounded by Pantherberus?

Not that he really believed either of those would happen. The Pantherberus had been scarce lately, and the storm was still many miles off. It would take a few more days before it finally arrived. In the meantime, he had plenty of time to hunt for his large family of eight. He sighed, watching with half lidded eyes as his breath formed a cloud of vapor before his eyes.

Even so... Such melancholy weather. He felt his eyes mist over as he remembered his younger years.

"Wait! Wait for me...!" Orestes panted, his long legs racing to catch up to his much stronger and quicker brothers. He felt his frustration and desperation growing. He didn't want to be left out of the fun. He didn't want to play alone. He raced after the boys, his breath rasping in his throat. Even after he stumbled, he got up and continued running after them. He would not quit. He would never quit. It wasn't until he stumbled again that Ores found he couldn't move anymore.

His legs, strained from running for so long, refused to obey him. He laid there, crying silent, bitter tears to himself. A shadow passed over him and he looked up into his mother's warm, blue eyes. He glared up at her through his tears, refusing to show his anger over loosing. "Child... Dear, sweet child. Don't you remember what I told you before?" She whispered. Ores started as his mother laid beside him, gently licking his forehead. "Sometimes, those that are the slowest to start out, become the fastest in the end. One day, you'll be stronger than your brothers and sisters. One day, you'll have to slow down for them so they can catch up to you." She whispered, nuzzling him.

Orestes sighed again, feeling more nostalgic with each step he took. His mother had been right, of course. When he was old enough to hunt for himself, Orestes quickly outpaced his brothers in both intelligence and strength. With his long, ruddy brown legs and sharp moving mind, he had learned quickly how to excel on his own. He also had not only in strength and intelligence, but also in beauty. With a light, silver blue lining on his fur, and a tawny brown array of patterns across his body, he had turned out truly handsome.

He glanced around, realizing with a start that the amount of trees had grown. He had finally reached one of the many hunting spots within their territory. It was a simple, redwood forest. The holographic effect cast an eerie glow as the snow alighted upon it's leaves. It's trunks were long and it's trees many. It was an ancient forest and he felt the trees whisper and moan in greeting to him as he padded silently beneath their bristled boughs. He pricked his ears up, using his tail as a sweep behind him to cover his tracks as he began to hunt through the various silences of the forest.

In Edhanastian, where snow was a frequent companion, there was rarely a sound to hunt by. Instead, there were various silences that signified prey, predator, and the like. The soft, warm silence of rabbits sleeping beneath the redwood tree's roots. The cold, dark silence of a Pantherberus lurking within the shadows. Or the muffled, docile silence of the deer he hunted. He felt a grin form across his lips as he heard a short shuff-shuff in the distance. He crouched down, prowling through the snow with the smooth grace of an otter streamlining through the water.

Not even a Pantherberus distance away, a large bull snorted and shuffed, pawing against the rough bark of the redwood tree for the rich, fibrous bark beneath. Orestes looked around, an idea forming in his head. Taking the bull head on was foolish. Without another Chimera with him, he would simply be gored in the chest and tossed aside for the birds. If he took a different route though, one of surprise...

Orestes's smile grew, revealing his sharp upper canines. He tensed his hind leg muscles and, with a silent spring, he landed atop one of the mighty trees that resided within the forest. The needles shivered and rained down, not making a sound as they hit the snowy earth. He waited, watching as the bull sniffed the air suspiciously. When it was content that no predator was near, it resumed it's pawing, huffing with exertion.

It wasn't until long though that the wind shifted and Ores had no more time to consider his plan. Ores leaped, feeling as if for a moment, the wind was willing to lift him into it's arms and carry him away. Then gravity took hold and he landed atop the cow. It mooed in fear and bucked it's head, rearing. Ores clung on for dear life, digging his claws harshly into the buck's tender flanks. With a deep growl, he buried his saber like teeth into the cows neck, chewing and gnashing as he searched for the life vein that would make this bull breath his last breath. Even as he felt his tooth hook around it, the bull turned it's head and whacked him in the face with his massive antlers.

Ores leaped back, gasping for breath as his nose stung smartly from the cuts the antlers had produced. He snarled at the bull, the blood staining his tawny gold muzzle red. Bleeding profusely from the neck, the bull turned tail and bolted, his white, fluffy rear end signaling retreat. Even as he fled, he felt his hunting pride take hold of him. Ores refused to let this one escape. After two days of walking, he would have his meal. He bolted after the bull, his long, muscular legs eating up the ground as his ceaseless lope increased in length with each lunge. He could practically taste's it's musky scent as he grew closer with each step. He opened his mouth wide, a low growl resounding through his chest and out his muzzle as he prepared to attack. He was within inches of his prey when something tackled him from the side though, sending the breath scattering from his lungs and his legs tumbling out from underneath him.

He collapsed, the dark form pinning his shoulders to the ground with a ferocious hiss. The bull took his chance and bolted, sensing an escape. It was not to be though. Quickly after his turn around, another dark shape jumped from the underbrush and tackled it, tearing into it's throat. It died instantly, it's wild brown eyes fixed on a freedom it would never know. Ores stared in disappointment and desperation as he lean, dark form tore into his prey. He turned and bared his fangs up at the face of his intruder. Realization dawned on him though as he stared at six sets of yellow, narrowed eyes. Suddenly, that thought from not so long ago came back and he felt horror tingling in his gut.

A pair of Pantherberus had found him, and he was alone. With no one there to help him.
What now?

If I were to enter, could I mention how her parents die?
For the Chimera I want to try for, she would also be colorblind, so I figured I probably shouldn't ask, because those two would be breaking some sort of rule.
But I was curious.

Please, ask questions by PM, otherwise it'll be difficult for me to find questions here.

And well, this wouldn't make sense, her parents are alive... unless you wish to write part of the story as her future, like, describing their possible death once she is already an adult, years from now *shrugs*, if that's your idea, than yes, you can. And none of the pups is blind. Saying she is would be considered a design change, and this is not allowed.

Sentenced to a life of nothing but loneliness...

I wasn't really going to enter, but I was curious. Thanks. c:

And colorblind, not blind.
I figured that colorblindness was allowed, because I had used it for another Chimera that I didn't win.

Name:

Raysher (Ray sure)

Story:

Since, I'm not a very literate person, I'll just start with the night of my birth. It wasn't very grand or elaborate. I believe it was a warm spring night, but I was much too little to remember and we were so deep into the caves that my little nose could find any smell but the ones of my family. After a few weeks of being in the cave with just ourselves to entertain one another, we wanted to investigate the outside world. We tried to get out a few times, we were only playing, but the stern looks my father gave us told us that it wasn't funny. At the time, I was to young to be aware of the dangers of the outside world. We were soon informed. My father told us about the Pantherberus. Being as little as we were, this didn't make an outstanding impression on us. I was once rough housing with my brother, pretending he was a ferocious Pantherberus attacking me and we were rolling around the den going crazy and driving everyone around us crazy as well. We weren't looking where we were going and slipped out of the den. Only when we crashed into the paws of Etsuko did we realize we were out of place. At first we'd thought we'd get in huge trouble but she only giggled and remarked about how cute we were before taking us back to our den. Our parents had been sleeping when we'd left but were wide awake and seething. They were more angry at themselves for not knowing we'd escaped that at us for disappearing. But what would you expect from new parents? They loved us more than anything and thats all I could hope for.

-A year later-

Alone. In the open valley. Between two mountains. That's where I am. I'm just wondering around, minding my own business when I fell of a low cliff. It might just be me but something up there really distorted my balance. I decide to pick my self up and investigate the source of it. And to stay well away from the edge whilst doing so. When I finally reach the place where I fell, I search a bit but come up empty handed. I decide to go when I find a hole in the ground. It isn't very big but it seems to have a serious effect on me. I felt a stung feeling of longing and a desire to go down and investigate. So I Make the hole a little bigger, squeeze through, and fall into a dark cave. At first I can't see anything and am confused and panicked. Then my eyes adjust to the light and I can see the walls of crystal surrounding me. Ahead I can see a vast lake surrounded by crystals. I went to the surface and looked in the reflection. I was glowing - not literally but it looked as if I was. I saw something else in the reflection. Pantherberus.

No. How could this be? How were they here? The hole! They found the hole I'd dug! By now I knew the meteor that hit our planet must be somewhere in this cave or near it. I had to protect it and drive the Pantherberus away. But how? I was easily outmatched three to one. I thought about fleeing to save my life but I knew that I couldn't do that. No hero is ever remembered for sitting like a coward be hind a rock in a cave. And that's what he wanted to be. A hero.

He lept bravely out from behind the rock and growled the deepest, throatiest growl he could muster. This got their attention but they only advanced on him.
"Where is it pup?" One of them hissed, her tail lashing back and fourth, her other two heads were spitting and hissing.
"Where is what?" I replied calmly, my tail sitting quite still at my paws.
"You know very well what we're talking about." A male replied impatiently, he had to silence his other two heads for they wouldn't stop talking.
"I will not tell you, for it is not yours to have." I said standing, my tail bristling. I bared my teeth as I spoke. "You'll have to go through me to get it."

They laughed for I was only a little pup, but I felt powerful here. I felt like the meteor was giving me some sort of inner strength that I'd never felt before. I growled and lept into the air and landed taking out of the female Pantherberus. She yowled for the impact of me must have surprised her. She scratched my face and I yelped in pain then her male companion jumped on my back and knocked me over. I del with a thud and thought to myself "I give up, I give up" . I must have whispered it because i heard my father whisper in my ear "You've gven up the battle and haven't even won the war?" No. NO. I get up, a new strength burning through my body. I see my father standing next to me and together we battle the Pantherbrerus. They flee and leave us triumphant.
"Get out and stay out!" I yell after them, but it is in vain for they are long gone.

The meteor is ours and always will be.

Theme song:

Why this song?:
I thought it really embellished him. I thought it really
represented his will to keep moving
forwards and to never give up.
Other theme songs:
Life song: Madokara Mieru
(instrumental) by the Cornerstone Cues
Why did you write 'Life song'?
Because the first part sounds like a
puppy and then it escalates as he
grows and when he has a battle,
he falls then rises again.

His personality wrote:
He is a very humble person. He is kind and helpful
and not boastful he is the best friend you
could ever have. Although, he doesn't try very
hard and sometimes gives up.
He is timid sometimes
but he also is hard to make mad.
It would take an army of Pantherberus
to make him yell at a fly. When
He was a pup he was selfish and rude
and even when he was nearing his first year he was rude.
It took him another year to realize that
being rude will get you
no where in life.

-How did the chimeras surge?

They became chimeras when the meteor hit the planet and gave them special traits.

-Where do the Pantherberi live?

They live in the dark, mysterious Nevermore forrest. Named that because, as once the elders of both species said "“once someone is there, they never come back."The place also has a dark, rocky soil that is covered by low black grass in some places. It’s a forest formed by huge, high black trees with very thick branches and trunks, they are so strong not even the biggest of the Edhanastian creatures could push one down.

-What are the Glass Mountains?
It is the Chimeras home. Its where the meteor hit and turned the flat ground into high glass-like mountains. Deep below the mountains is the last remaining piece of the meteor.

Name:
Thyst.

Story:
Thyst woke up feeling fur brush his side. He yawned and looked around. Many were pushing and crowding around him. He heard a sigh and looked up to see two bigger things looking down on him. He cocked his head to one side confused. He let out another yawn and curled up and rolled over and closed his eyes. 'So warm.' He thought for he couldn't seem to speak only think of what he wanted to say. He blinked open his eyes. He saw a figure push his side and he squealed and looked over. He guessed they were like him pushing and nosing each other. He took out his paw and patted one but didn't get any reaction. He sat down and cocked his head. 'Why aren't they nudging me back?' He thought. He nudged one again but only was nosed away by one of the others. What were these things. They seemed like him... But... so strange. Maybe his sisters and brothers? He looked at them some more. One of them looked at him but only turned away. He frowned, no one would come over to him! He jumped at them and landed on one a played with it but it only frowned, pushed him off, and turned away. Thyst frowned and let out a squeal as someone came from behind him and nudged him out of the way and ran into the crowd. Thyst frowned again. He didn't notice one of the big figures that were looking down at his brothers and sisters nudge him towards the crowd. He turned and looked over his shoulder. One was smiling at him. He smiled and walked towards his brothers and sisters all in a huddle squealing with fun. 'Here is my chance.' He thought and nudged one of them gently. Right when the pup turned he made a face that made out, Can I play too? The pup looked at Thyst and came over to him. The pup pawed at Thyst's belly and smiled. Thyst began to understand. Thyst tapped the pups head. The pup grew excited and they began to play wildly. He good just see one of the big figures above him smiling.

after a long time of playing Thyst was tired. Him and the pup were laying down together smiling. Thyst yawned exactly when the pup yawned and they started yipping like they were laughing. Thyst closed his eyes. He had fun playing. And he finally got someone to pay attention to him. It was like having a brother as a friend or a sister as a friend you could say. Thyst curled his fluffy tail up. He noticed something hard on him when he rolled a little. He opened his eyes and looked on his back. A line of spikes were coming out. He cocked his head and then noticed horns on his head. 'What a discovery!' He thought. He was to tired to get up and look more around himself. He closed his eyes again trying not to role on his horns and spikes. He began to feel special as if he was magical. He stopped smiling in his sleep and grew curious. Was he magical?
He grew to tired to think at that moment and fell into deep sleep. He dreamed of being older standing on a hill looking over millions of figures that looked like him but with different designs. He was raising his head looking up into the sky and the millions of figures were bowing- At that moment his dream was disturbed by his friend/sibling. He looked up and looked at the pup. the pup was waiting to play. Thyst got up and batted at the pups tail. The pup smiled and leapt onto Thyst. Thyst the went into a scramble of playing. Thyst loved it when this happened. Thyst batted playfully protecting himself from getting batted himself while he was rolling around dodging the pup. Soon they stopped and sat there. Thyst soon went back to sleep. It seemed not enough play for the time but Thyst was very sleepy.

A few days later Thyst was bigger. Him and the pup always hanged out together. He now had bigger spikes on his back and bigger horns and more fur on his ankles. Just because of the pup Thyst was always in the big playing games no matter what. But he always seemed to be the sleepy head. He had a new friend/sibling now that was a male and the other pup was a female. He didn't know their names yet but they seemed to be the only ones who'd seriously hang out with him. Thyst loved adventure now and always liked roaming around the den. At first he was only aloud near the paws of the big figures, Thyst guessed mom and dad. But, now he could roam around the whole den! What fun! Thyst spent most of his time roaming the den and playing in all areas. He would look out of the den sometimes but was told not to go to close to the entrance of the cave. Thyst wanted to know what was out there for it seemed to interest him in every way. His dreams seemed to grow farther into mysteries and many different kinds like him. But he doesn't want to waist his time asking his parents about stories of other kinds like him. He just wants to learn himself. Though, some things he could not find out by himself so sometimes he had to ask. But his small mind was still small for he wasn't that old yet. Thyst was planning a great childhood he could never forget. Him, his sister, his brother, all on a adventure together! Boy that would be the greatest thing he could ask for, eh, maybe with the rest of the litter to? Thyst would have to think about that since the rest of the litter seemed to play to much in one spot. He didn't image them to be great adventurers like him.

Thyst yawned, he had been napping. Why was he always the tired one? Well a good rest makes a healthy adventurer! Thyst looked around his sister and brother were already in the corner of the den, to them was there 'Private spot' they said. Thyst hopped up and came over, "Hey what did I miss?" He asked excited for the news from the group they had made. His sister and brother only shrugged, "Nothing because your the leader." "Yeah." They both said looking at Thyst. Thyst smiled, "I'm planning to explore under rocks today." He said. His sister and brother got up with excitement. They headed for a big rock and all three pushed on it and it rolled over There was like sand stuff and a few tiny bug things. "Ew." Said Thyst's sister. It was a bug. Thyst raised a paw and slowlt backed away along with his brother and sister. "I'm never touching a rock again!" His brother yelped. Thyst nodded but sighed, "Then how do you expect us to be adventurers?" Thyst's brother sighed, "I guess your right." He said. They all headed back to their corner of the den. They had discovered what was under rocks at least. They all lay down and rolled up together using each other as blankets.

About seven days after Thyst woke up. He had just adventured the other sisters and brothers of the litters corner. It was very warm since they hung their a lot. They found out what was under the other pups rocks in their area and it was bug city to them. They decided never to lift a rock in the den for a while. They were much bigger now but still in the pup age. Thyst was bored, "Everything in this den has been explored but we are still not aloud of the den." He murmured. His brother came up to him. "We could, ask." He suggested. Thyst's ears pricked up and he ran over to his mother and father, "Can we go outside for a while?" Thyst asked desperately. They nodded and at that second the three bursted out of the den. It was fresh air but chilly. Thyst didn't care. He started sniffing the ground full of scent. It was wonderful and amazing! Thyst's eyes brightened as the three pups looked out into the open.

And the journey begins...

Personality:
Thyst is a adventurer. He has no interest in anything else but exploring. He hates being left out and wants people to pay attention to him desperately. Thyst can be angry with you if it goes to certain times but most of the time he is curious. Thyst questions a lot of things and is always asking for questions and never rests one day to waist time to explore what's in the sand or under a rock or in a tree of what creature he is and what features he has. Everything he looks at has a question to him, that is waiting to be answered. Thyst was known to be a sleepy head. To much play, to much explore, to much adventure breaks him down. He is known to be the sleepiest of the bunch, it really doesn't match Thyst's brave soul for he seems so up when he isn't sleepy and is really serious with adventure.

Thyst is also very secretive and can be sneaky at times. Don't blame him, when he thinks there is danger he explores and tries to find out what is up. With this he might seem expressionless because he's hiding his emotions and thought, he does not want anyone to know what he's doing so he has a reason for this.

Thyst is brave and friendly and is always expecting friends. He loves playing but as he grows older his playing mood fades out of choice.

More to come...

I will be working on art now before anything else because I love this pup. You can count on me making art.

-How did the chimeras appear in the planet?
Wasn't it that Edhanastia was a normal planet once but when the meteorite crashed onto the planet it made a huge energy that created the Chimera.

-Where do the Pantherberi live?
They live in the valleys of the forest.

-What are the Glass Mountains?
The Glass Mountains is where the meteor hit. The Glass mountains turned intopure crystal after the meteor.

I hope I get this pup. I love it's design it is just marvelous and unique. It was my favorite out of the litter and I picked it specially right when I saw this. I wish everyone luck. I might edit my forum and I will be working on art.
