Found this in a thread and just need to vent about it so people don't get the wrong idea of Shelter Animals.

Dogs/Cats or any animal for that matter get put down for many reasons.
1. Abandoned and or starved to death.
2. Fought and are very aggressive toward people and or other animals (have a bite history). <-- to this... would you want to adopt a pet (dog or cat) from a shelter who would take your face off when you got it home IF you could even get it out of the kennel? I think not. It would be a liability.

I work at our local shelter and they don't just put animals down for "no reason" what so ever. And they don't put down "your pet".
People bring in pets and give them up, because they don't want them anymore. To much to handle/take care of. Once they do that, the pet then becomes the shelters responsibility. They can't adopted out a pet if it will bite kids, kill cats or other animals, attack people or aggressive in any way towards anything. They temperament test them to see if the dog will react to certain things. If they pass, they are put up for adoption. If not, well the dog wouldn't be adoptable now would it?

So the way that was said was wrong. Yes, it's sad to see so many animals put down each year, but there are reasons and they aren't YOUR pets being put down. Once owned, yes, but not them coming and just putting your animals down.

Again, sorry but this bothered me and I needed to rant about it. *sighs*

Animals can also be put down if they can't eat or have a VERY severe medical condition that causes them pain/there isn't a cure for it. D': I had two guinea pigs put down and so begging for pets like that is just downright low. I do hope you reported them. D:<

In my opinion, the major reason so many new players are getting rares list pets like toxics and such is because of all this hype, not to mention Valentines/Easter events where older users offer them truckloads for their tokens and such.
I'm about to do that during the next event. Just to see what I can get.

I wish I could have sort of a "secret WL" that I can keep for my personal reference and a "public WL" where I put the pets I currently really want.

I feel bad if I cancel really awesome overoffer trades because those pets are only on my WL because it's for my personal use
