Moonshade blinked at him. His image had become fuzzy before her still eyes and he appeared closer to her. His voice echoed in her head and she shook it a little, irritated at how out-of-it she felt. "Yes yes.." she said softly. "Just a few scratches." She looked back towards the trail that led to camp. With a heavy sigh, she mewed, "Come on, Secretgrudge... Let's go home, OK?" She turned before he could answer and started back to camp, limping slowly. Stupid bird...

"I would hardly call that a scratch, you just made a small puddle of blood." the tom murmured as he went to fetch the owl, no way was he letting so much food get away. He would get the rest of the prey he caught later.

Moonshade sighed in reply and just continued walking. Whenever she encountered things like logs or roots or bushes, she had to go all the way around, for she couldn't jump. She attempted to keep up with Secretgrudge as they trekked along. She looked up tiredly from her long limping session and smiled with relief at the sight of the camp entrance in the distance. She was about to take one more step until her smile faded and she paused. Suddenly, she didn't want to go back to camp...

Secretgrudge looked back when he realized Moonshade wasn't following.

"Come on, we're almost there."

Moonshade just stared ahead. She couldn't just show up like this. She'd look ridiculous. "...I can't go in like this..." she whispered. "What will they think of me? The first day of becoming a deputy... and bleeding already.." She looked at her paws, narrowing her saddened eyes. She didn't know what to do.
"They... They'll think me weak again. They'll think this is a warning from Starclan that I was the wrong choice." She paused, eyes widening. "What if I am that? What if...if this is a bad omen telling them I'm not fit for this?"

Secretgrudge twitched in annoyance and dropped the owl by his paws and let out a heavy sigh

"Moonshade......shut up." he said and suddenly lost his calm demeanor.

"Take a lesson from Spiderfrost...forget what others think of you. The only opinion that matters is yours." he growled, left the bird of prey where it lay and stormed off.

The dark tabby looked up suddenly, staring at Secretgrudge in shock. Her tail-tip twitched and her hackles rose in utter rage. She dug her claws into the ground to stop the world from swimming in her gaze. Her eyes went huge and not one word came out of her mouth, no matter how much she yearned to scream at him right now. Moonshade fell to a sitting position; somehow not able to keep herself standing anymore. She stared at the ground; confused, angry and completely dumbfounded. Secretgrudge's words echoed throughout her mind and her head felt frazzled. As her hackles lowered slightly, she made her way slowly, somehow, to a berry bush under a tree. There was an abandoned burrow right under it's branches and Moonshade slid into it, hidden by it's leaves and complete darkness. Her astonished eyes were the only things glowing from the bush, and she actually liked being hidden in the shadows.
Once again, Secretgrudge got straight to the point and hurt her for the second time. I just saved your life.... she thought, hating him for the moment. What is it? What was it about her that had all these faults? She just wanted to rip all her fur out in her frustration.
She felt a tear run down her cheek in the shadows, but she didn't cry. She lay there, not moving, and her face darkened. She wasn't the pitiful cat that had only just stood there. She was a dark and mysterious warrior with more power. Maybe she was right all along. Maybe she was better off alone; Secretgrudge abandoning her again told her that.

He know what he had just done was rude, the she-cat saved him and received a deep wound in return and he just repaid her by getting upset. Secretgrudge walked into the warriors den and lay down. But he just couldn't stand that she would let a little ridicule get to her. Moonshade shouldn't think so low of herself in his opinion...he just wanted to get that feeling across.

...but maybe growling in her face wasn't the right way... he sighed inwardly

After a good while of glowering in the darkness, Moonshade emerged from the burrow and raised her chin. She took in one, long breath; feeling a little better. She walked into camp, but stood tall and proud despite her pain and headed straight to the medicine cat den. Her facial expression was beautifully fierce. It was darkened still and she gave no indication of ever being sad before. She ignored every single stare she got from her clanmates and poked her head in. "Spiderfrost? Are you in here?" her voice was soft, but expressionless.

Owlscrape looked at her with worry in his eyes. "What's wrong about a little rain? Is it like a big storm? ...Or are you afraid of storms? If so, that's alright," He said, looking into her eyes. He suddenly felt the moisture and relized that it was going to rain. But sadly, Owlscrape could only tell that it was going to rain. He could'nt tell anything else.

Dewstorm looked at her kit, and purred. "Oh, I'd love to be friends with you! But, why can't she talk?" Echokit said, looking away from Lynxkit and looked at her mother, Celestial. Foxkit, on the other hand was by the other end of the nursery, "Then we can both be great warriors! But I'm the Firestar! I picked him already, no matter how old you are! I look like him anyways," He said in a more bold voice, though it was still high piched since he wasn't even older than a moon. "Oh shush Foxkit, if you get to much pride, then you'll turn into a Tigerstar," Steamkit said, smirking.
