Analyse Sapphira III
Anna felt Ezra let her slide off her back, and she landed on the cave floor with an almost inaudible thump on her right side, where her broken wing was. She gave a small whimper and rolled over onto her stomach to finish turning green. By the time Ezra flew off, Anna had managed to turn fully green and get her wing set. She began the healing process, binding the broken pieces of bone together to make a whole again. When the pain from her injured wing had finally ceased and her wing healed, she got up onto her feet and flew around the cave a few times in order to restore some function to it. When Ezra returned, Anna went immediately to the injured sea dragon she had brought with her and checked her over. She almost mistook the wingless dragon for a small sea serpent, but due to the fact that it had legs, a barbed tail, and scales that had a reflection of clouds in the water, she could tell it was a sea dragon, even though she had never met one.
She crawled over the dragon's limp body, checking for broken bones and damage to internal organs. When she had assessed that several bones were broken and the dragon was bleeding from several different places externally, she shook her head and went to one spot after the other, putting bones back in the right place and healing them, getting the scratches fixed, and anything else that needed attention. When she was finished, she moved on to Ezra, who looked tired, and healed her lethargy and aching muscles. She then went to the fire dragon, Lunaris, and healed any bruises, scrapes, or cuts that she might have collected. She decided to remind them of an important fact. "You need to eat, even though you don't feel hungry now. When I heal you, it makes you feel as if you're not hungry, but if you don't eat, you will die. My healing powers do not sustain life, they only prolong it."
Anna decided it was too cold in the cave, and therefore found a few twigs and small branches with which to make a fire. She turned red and lit the fire, and there was soon a blaze going. She went to find her packs, and collected a bit of mouse meat to warm up and then eat by the fire. For whatever reason, Anna did not enjoy eating cold meat. When the meat had warmed, she began to eat it. A roach skittered across her path when she finished, and so she grabbed the crunchy treat for dessert. "I'm going to go see where all of the elf dragons went. They're probably caring for the hatchlings in the nursery cave," Anna said, turning grayish-white so her scales would glow in the darker passageways. She flew down a main tunnel, and she searched every side cave until she came upon a horrible sight.
Crushed eggs littered the floor. Adult dragons and young hatchlings lay dead, either crushed or decapitated, on the cave floor. A stench rose from the bodies, testifying that it had been awhile since these dragons were killed, but since dragons did not decompose normally, she would have to incinerate them, which would be the only real way to get rid of the stench. She was in momentary darkness as she turned red, but when she spewed fire, the entire cave lit up. When she had made sure all of the fires were put out once her fellow elf dragons were reduced to ashes, she returned to the main cave where her comrades rested, crying. She curled up in a small corner near the fire and whimpered.
Zarein Kiedan Matarin
Kiedan nodded. "Hopefully," he said, "I do not know this region well, as I haven't bothered to leave my cave in over a half-century." He flew over the treetops, scanning for a cave of some sort to rest in. He spotted a cave behind a rock wall and flew toward it, suddenly realizing either Devin or other dragons could be inhabiting it, which made him slow down. Did he really want other dragons around? I don't know, he thought. The thought hadn't occurred to me until this point. He veered off to the west, where another cave appeared out of a sheer cliff face. He flew toward it, landing neatly on the edge of the ledge which stood in front of the cave. He stepped inside to wait for the other dragons.
The Grand Archmage
The Archmage chuckled inwardly. He had heard Croner's thought about a place to house mountain dragons. Don't worry, my old friend, soon we will have mountain dragons, he thought to himself, blocking his mind so as not to share the thought with Croner. He didn't want to spoil the surprise before the coronation ceremonies for the other six dragon species. He still had a few secrets he wanted to keep for a special time. No, he would not allow Croner to learn of his carefully laid plans until all twelve of the other dragons had taken mates and been crowned queens and kings of their respective watches. He said to the large dragon, "Well, Croner, luckily for you, I happen to know of a few underground caves that would house our riding dragons and serve them well. They actually happen to be abandoned dwarf mines that were used to mine gold and diamonds, among other precious metals and gems, so they would also have a supply of gold to use for their beds. However, I would have to reinforce the mines' structure with one of my spells, because as it is, the mines are near collapse. Would you like to come help me in this endeavor?"
