Jewel is quiet and keeps to herself. She is very secretive. She is beautiful to look at, very sweet to the sight. She is a kind soul, unless you are her enemy, in which case she becomes an evil demon (figure of speech, not a literal demon!) seeking to do you harm and looking to make you suffer! She causes pain and suffering to those she hates. It brings her joy to hear them cry out for help, to cry out in agony, to beg for their suffering to stop. She is a pure drop of evil concealed in a sweet body. But she will not harm the helpless! She is the avenger of those who can not speak, those who can not help themselves, those who cry at night from pain! She is their protector, the one who seeks revenge for them.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
Well I have always wanted a rune dragon and when I saw this one I had to have it! So I will give it a shot. She is amazing and I would be honored to have her!
Where will you keep him/her:
character thread, possibly my siggy, and she will be in my gallery (i promise you this girl will have tons of art of her!)

she drinks several drops of several poisons every night to build a resistance to them
Story:
Jewel was young but remembers perfectly what happened the night her entire family was murdered. There was yelling, screaming, blood everywhere. It all happened so fast. Her mother was holding her, putting her to sleep....her father was guarding the opening of their cave and her two brothers where wrestling to keep themselves occupied. She heard voices at the front of the cave, yelling, fighting. Her mother heard this too. She quickly hid Jewel in a hole, and then her and her two sons disappeared. When Jewel had heard the noises die down she crawled out, only to find five corpses lying in front of her. She recognized four of them as her family, and one was unknown to her. She slowly walked to the front of the cave and saw one more dragon, a huge male with a scar across his eye and several more on his chest. This dragon still haunts her dreams. But little does he know, this little dragon is grown now, and seeks revenge on him. She seeks to see him suffer, to watch his blood spill, to watch him die as her family did. She will take everything precious to him, everyone close to him. She will not show mercy, not spare a life connected to him, and she will not give up until she gets what she wants. Because of him her heart is cold like a stone and yet burns with the desire for revenge. Because of him and his actions, he will lose everything and die a slow and painful death. Because of him a monster, a demon (again not a literal demon) rules over a beautiful body.

Any Quirks:
He likes to see if he can dance like humans and when he sleeps he likes to sleep right by you like a dog or a cat.
Story:
Magic loves music and dancing because he once came to know a little girl who showed him music and dance. The little girl visted him every day with a flute but one day the little girl did not come with his music and dacing. Magic didn't understand but he went back to the same spot every day for a month soon he got tired of waiting and was sad to think that his friend didn't like him anymore so he left. He travled for months and finally stopped when he heard more music and laughter. Magic very carefully went around a tree and saw a campfire were a little girl was playing a flute and dancing! Magic run forward and went right around her stopping in font of her and started dancing like old times. The little girl laughed and said Magic you have found me I am so sorry i left without thout telling you but I had to my mother was in the trouble please forgive me. Magic forgave her and they have always been together since happy as can be. The girl playing her flute and Magic doing his own little dance. The girl laughs and Magic keeps dancing then the little girl askes Magic if he would like to stay with her and be with her everyday and if he wants to leave that he can.

Cemerlang can be a tad bit stubborn and "Independent" sometimes. He likes to do things how he wants, when, and why, because he can. Because of this, he is slightly harder to train than others, but with a lot of love and patience, he will do almost anything for his trainer.Another way to get him to do as hes told is bribes. He loves everything and anything shiny that is easy to carry or store, given the fact that he is a Gypsy Rune. Hold on to any of your jewelry, because not knowing its wrong, he may "borrow" things, though he isn't as good about remembering to put them back..
Aside from all of that, he is a great pet to have. He is very loyal and will stand by you always, even in the darkest of times, and try to cheer you up when your not in the best of moods. He is quite the comical little creature, and is capable of making almost anybody laugh with his random and strange little habits and tactics.
Looking for a guard dog to protect you or your possessions? Look no further! This little Rune will risk his life to protect his master or their items. Though he doesn't seem very intimidating, and actually more on the inviting side, he is a strong willed little bugger. Good luck stealing anything while hes around!

Why do you wish to have him/her:
I found the Rune Dragons while browsing the Oekiaki boards, and saw the drawing done by Jendalie with the two Rune Dragons and their owners. I was extremely curious as to what these strange little creatures where, so I clicked the link that took me to the Adoption Center. I looked down at all of the Runes up for adoption, and he caught my eye. I immediately feel in love, staring at his intricate design for, probably five minutes straight. I then decided to try out for this beauty!

I will keep him in my signature, and make him his own thread, telling visitors about his story, what he is, where I got him (If I win), and a bit more about him!

Any Quirks:
Cemerlang is quite the strange Rune, and has many different quirks, but here are just a few.
Like I said in the personality section, he has a strange love for anything shiny. Usually any shiny rocks, diamonds, crystals, Keys, or glass shards and metal he finds, he stores in a small colorful sack I keep tied to my belt. He enjoys taking these items out when we stumble across other Runes and travelers, and seeing the awe and wonder in other's faces as they study his wonderful finds. If he finds himself quite fond of you and your Rune, he may even give you one of his treasures to remember us by, as a gift.

Story:
Sighing, I climb into the tightly packed wagon after checking to make sure the horses are fed, harnessed, and ready to go. Cemerlang calmly swoops down and perches himself on my shoulder. I grin and turn to him, "Ready to go boy?" He murmurs a muffled 'Grrrrff!' as the warm sun glints off of a small round object in his mouth. I chuckle and hold my hand out in front of him. He plops the small clear orb into the palm of my hand. "A marble? Where did you find this?" I ask, studying it closely. Cemerlang gently lifts it out of my palm with his dull beak-like mouth and carefully nudges the small pouch attached to my belt open, and drops it in. It makes a small, delicate sounding 'Clink,' as it lands safely. I laugh and pull the drawstrings to the small sack closed. "Another great find." I say smiling. Lifting the reins, I click my tongue and the two dapple gray ponies begin pulling us down the dirt road ahead.
Cemerlang Ruffles his wings and flutters onto one of the stocky mountain pony's backs, watching the path ahead of us intently. I grin and take a deep breath, enjoying the summer air. "Its a great day for an adventure, don't you think Cemer?" I ask. Cemerlang glances back at me and swoops over to gently perch himself on my elbow. "What would I do without you?" I ask, grinning and scratching him gently beneath his chin.


I plan on decorating it and adding some art. ^^ Added a drawing done by me using the Oekiaki and some decorations. Think I'm done.

Trying is all anyone can ever do and I promise that everyone will get their own special rune someday. The fact that so many of you showed such wonderful stories and designs is amazing and I love to see it! You all have three hours left before the judging ends and I also just want to thank everyone for such lovely forms. That is one of the reason that inspires me to draw these for everyone and I hope you continue to express interest for them in the future. ~Benathorn

Winner Announced!

Congratulations to She-Hound!

Everyone put a lot of effort into this dragon and She-Hounds was simply wonderful from the design and drawing of the rune dragon, to the personality and story. I enjoyed how she described herself among one of the travelers and even telling of having her own wagon and the many items her rune would find. All and all, a lovely form and I believe this Rune to be the one for you since you two seem to have a connection.

I know many of you will feel sad about not getting this rune and that is all right. Anyone would feel sad and I understand the feeling of disappointment. This is the only way though that I can judge fairly and give the rune to the one who deserves it. Everyone deserved it in fact, but I look for many key details that suggest the rune is truly meant for you. There are always new runes being made and I assure you that you too will soon get your very own rune that truly connects with you. Believe me, I have seen it happen to many and I can not wait to make sure it happens to you! ~Benathorn
