Russetpaw
Russetpaw wiggled, eyes alight as he bounded after the two warriors he admired. In his stride, mud splashed his belly and soaked his paws, but he ignored it easily, used to the feeling. Nonetheless, he kneaded his paws briefly in the grass as the wet dirt already began to harden between his toes. It was a very kind day, bright and alive, even though the air was humid. He didn't mind it so much, it was just something he got used to growing up in Swampclan.
Ahead of him, as he spied Slystar slow into a quick, silent crouch, Russetpaw slowed as well. He blinked a silent thanks at his mentor for waiting. Curiously, Russetpaw cocked his head as his ears strained for whatever Slystar was stalking. After a moment, Russetpaw opened his mouth, allowing the scents to come to him. He recognized one, Sweetpaw, and the other he assumed to be her mentor, Sunheart. Russetpaw didn't really talk to the warrior, though he was kind to him for the times they passed each other. He was one of the few that took his... eagerness, in stride.
Of course, Russetpaw only assumed that was him. Still, he turned to Shadowfur, his eyes silently questioning who it was. Slystar wasn't stalking them was she? They weren't here to observe other warriors, otherwise it would just be him and Shadowfur. On the wind, he heard a call for Slystar, and immediately Russetpaw was on his toes. His head snapped in the direction where Slystar was peeking through the bushes; the voice sounded male. Had he been further away, he wouldn't have heard it, but right up close it was easy to hear. It... sounded like Sunheart though... but he still wasn't sure. Dumbly, Russetpaw called back, "Sunheart?"
He didn't hear anything back from the assumed-to-be Sunheart, but he did hear another voice beyond Slystar. Russetpaw perked his ears, he knew that voice! Before his mentor or leader could say anything, Russetpaw happily trotted between the bushes. "Sweetpaw!" He purred in delight at her and Sunheart, who he could now recognize standing beside her. The two were also covered in mud, for the most part, and he briefly wondered what they were up to. Training, perhaps. Pushing the thought aside--it was unimportant--Russetpaw waved his tail as he spoke, "We're out here in search of a new prey! I'm not sure what it, but we're going to find out!" Quickly, he tacked on a question that mirrored his earlier thoughts, "What are you two doing out here?"

Sunheart
Sunheart absentmindedly nodded along to Sweetpaw's claim, picturing the clearing in his mind. He flicked his eyes toward his apprentice briefly, berating her in his mind for going out so far alone, especially with a potential predator around. Nonetheless, he had already talked to her and could only hope she wouldn't do it again. As the young female began to fall a bit beside Sunheart, who know knew where they were headed, the tom began leading a bit. Sunheart noticed the wary look in her eyes and so he made sure to keep special attention to their surroundings.
He trusted Sweetpaw's statement in that the creature had left, but better safe than sorry. As the two moved on, Sunheart tilted his head toward the camp. They were still a bit away, but it was close enough to where a cat could easily pick up the underlying scent of a Swampclan cat. He wasn't sure what other clan cats though they smelled like, but to Sunheart--who lived in Swampclan all his life--adored the scent. It was very musky, a kind of an "old forest" kind of smell, and he loved it; it reminded him of home.
Thus, as it was, Sunheart came to a slow stop, minding himself of his trailing apprentice. It wasn't the smell that made him stop, but rather the specific smell that did--other cats. In the far distance, he could hear a few rustling bushes. Normally, he would have passed them of as a snake slithering by or a bird or the wind. However, on the dry air he could smell a growing aroma of a few other Swampclan cats--Slystar for sure, and a few others. He figured they were warriors, but why? Sunheart lowly murmured to himself, loud enough for Sweetpaw to hear, however, "It isn't time for the sunhigh patrol... I wonder what could be happening." More loudly, he called out, "Slystar?"
He waited a moment, and then heard a voice calling his own name. The childish voice didn't sound like Slystar, however; it didn't even sound female. Tilting his head, he wondered who it was before Sweetpaw suddenly exclaimed aloud. Perhaps she had seen them through the brush... Sunheart slightly narrowed his eyes in thought as his own piercing gaze searched the foliage. Ahh... there. He blinked, dipping his head toward his leader in greetings. However, in the back of his mind, Sunheart was thinking about Sweetpaw's observation skills. An amount of pride filled him up at her. Sunheart had only had her for one moon, but already she was learning.
((Not a big fan of interacting my own characters, but... :B Well, Russetpaw is just kind of... out there and doesn't really think so. XD Sorry for the long wait you guys! Also, sorry if anything sounds a bit out of order. I wrote this whole post and then realized that BlueRuby posted twice, so I had to go back and add that in. So ya... sorry if it seems a bit... crowded and lacks availability for Slystar or Shadowfur to get a voice in between.^^;))
