You are a juvenile deliquent, a criminal. Or, at least that's what everyone seems to call you lately. Whether you're innocent or not, you were sentenced guilty for whatever crimes you were accused of and sent here, to Camp Green Lake. You have no idea why it's called that. There's nothing green about this dry, hot Texas desert. And there's certainly no lake either. During the summer the temperature hovers around ninety-five degrees in the shade, if you can find it. There's not much shade in a big dry lake. The only trees are two old oaks that grow on the eastern edge of the "lake". A hammock is stretched between them, and a log cabin lies behind that. The campers are forbidden to lie in the hammock. It belongs to the Warden. The Warden owns the shade..
This roleplay is about teenagers who committed crimes, and were sent to Camp Green Lake. It's based offf the movie and book called "Holes". You don't need to ahve read the book, but I'd prefer it if you had. At this camp, they are made to dig holes all day everyday for a certain amount of time, as much as the court appointed them. Each hole was be five feet deep, and five feet wide in all directions. Boys are on one side of the camp, girls on the other, although they occasionally wander and end up socializing with the other gender, despite the fact that they really aren't supposed to. There are no fences at this camp, no guards. The camp has the only water for a hundred miles. If a camper tries to escape, they'll be vulture food in three days. Rattlesnakes and scorpians find shelter from the heat under rocks and in holes campers dig. There's a good rule to remember about rattlenakes and scorpians: If you don't bother them, they won't bother you. Usually. Being bitten by a snake or scorian isn't the worst thing that can happen to you. You won't die. Usually. But you don't want to be bitten by a yellow spotted lizard. That's the worst thing that could happen to you. You will die a slow, painful death. Always.
Rules
-This is a semi-lit roleplay. You must write at least three lines in each post, for every character you have! Use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization at all times.
-If your characters swear, star out the letters like this. S**t
-Fill in all parts of the forms in complete sentences. I want at least three for personality, and at least three likes and dislikes should be listed. If you choose to describe your character's appearance, have a good, detailed description. Write a couple sentences for why they are there as well. The only part that's optional is history. I appologize for requiring all this, but it is indeed semi-lit, and I really don't want a bunch of lazy writers in this roleplay. I much rather prefer roleplayin with people that the time to write well.
-No killing other characters.
-Be realistic. Your characters cannot finish the huge hole they have to dig in only a few minutes.
-No Mary/Gary Sues. Perfect characters are no fun.
-Don't be your own character's crush/boyfriend/girlfriend.
-Keep everyone involved. Don't leave anyone out.
-Please don't go more than five pages without me.
-On the camp rules, all rules with stars by them can be broken.
-Only five campers to each tent.
-The E tents are for the counselors. I will accept one counselorper tent, and they must be the same gender as the tent.
