Kate:
Thoughtful/Talking to no one/In the camp
Why did she always willingly take the rank of omega? Why?
The dark furred she-wolf found herself leisurely trotted through the forest, her senses on high alert for any signs of prey that she could hunt for herself. Her yellow-green gaze analyzed the ins and outs of the forest--every rock, every tree, every bushes; it was all important to her as was a stick to a bored pup. The forest seemed safe enough, though Kate could never trust just with her senses and what she could see; there were always the seemingly invisible details that she never spotted at first.
No wolf cared about the omega, and no wolf wanted to socialize with the omega of the pack. Kate loved that fact, which was one of the main reasons she had willingly accepted the role of the omega of the pack, again. The silence in the life of the omega was amazing, far better than having a higher rank as an alpha, beta, or lead hunter and warrior in the pack. There was hardly any responsibility that rested on the shoulders of the omega, and the average expectations for the omega of the pack was low. Her ranking in the pack was absolutely perfect for a wolf like Kate.
But then there were the cons of the ranking of the omega; like being smite or insulted regularly by fellow pack members. Kate always tried to ignore that, trying to think that the punishments that she received were only to build up her mental strength. Of course, it never helped her with her physical strength and stamina, something that she majorly needed to improve on. Then again, mental strength and intellect was by far better than the strongest wolf around.
Suddenly, a rustling came from a bush near her. Snapping her gaze to the sound, the she-wolf's mind immediately thought back to the sneak attacks that her old pack would pull on her. Not this time, she thought as she crouched to the ground, readying herself to run. The hackles on the back of her neck raised, and a low, rumbling growl escaped from deep down in her throat. Any moment now, the attack would come...
And then the rabbit wonder of the bush, horrified of the menacing wolf that stood before it. Before Kate could register what had just happened to her, the possible chance of a meal fled from her range of sight, deep into the bushes.
For a moment, the omega just stood there, looking dumbly as she snarled at nothing but a bush that had just recently held a rabbit. After that brief moment, the she-wolf stood up straight, realizing what had just happened to her and how ridiculous she looked. I knew that would have been a rabbit... she lied to herself, regaining her composure as she trotted back to the camp, away from the forest. I just had to be prepared for the worst case scenario.

Of course, basically everyone is awake in camp whenever I arrive, Kate thought bitterly to herself as she stepped into the camp. Then again, who cared if she was gone? Again, she was only the omega of the pack; the lowest member in the pack. Leaping up onto a nearby rock, she laid down, observing the camp carefully.
(I'll post Zeke some other time, whenever I have time to.)
