I'd have to say lions, tigers, or cheetahs. I see tiger characters more around CS, though. ^^

Generic cat like appearance for bigger cats I might suggest something Jaguar or Cougar looking, as those two cats seem to have a pretty generic, bulky feline build. I know most people are suggesting Leopards, but in my eye Leopards have a very distinct, long, sleek body that might not work for lions and such. Cheetah's are definitely nowhere nearly generic enough, as they are very distinctively cheetahs from their lean, thin legged bodies.

Something that could be done is to completely disregard species and simply make a bulky large cat line and a leaner large cat line for two 'generic' cat looks. This way, however, you can have lines that, while not perfectly 'lion' or 'tiger' or 'cheetah' in looks, they don't look too much like any other cat so that they don't simply look like a lion in leopard lines. Of course, I do not know how much of a stretch this is.

My knowledge on what kind of big cat character roams around CS is pretty limited, however, so do feel free to ignore my ramblings. ^^'

I absolutely love your rat lines! <3 despite the visible teeth... its a pet peeve of mine
This shop shall be stalked for when it opens. =)

Love your new cat lines too!
However, I don't have anything to really contribute to the feline question.
!Please do not demand art from me, it will be ignored!
No matter how "nicely" you put it. I'm not an art-slave.

I completely agree. :) Courgar would be nice, conisdering you could put a mane on it and call it a lion. :3 (And yes, you can't stick a mane on a cheetah and call it a lion. lol)

I'd suggest leopards, they are the generic big feline that I think of. I would also love it if you did cheetahs, because the most major of my feline characters are cheetahs. A lynx would also be nice, or maybe something like a caracal that you can add ear and cheek tufts to and call it a lynx/bobcat.

But I do agree with what people have said before about a mountain lion/leopard lineart. Though, for some reason, I don't see jaguars as generic. It must be those stocky legs and blocky, powerful head.

Thank you everyone for your contribution in my big cat survey, I think I have the info I need now.

I've been trying to figure out which species are the most common for feline characters on CS. My last attempt at a big cat lineart (which was a purely generic one that didn't really look like anything) was mostly ordered as colour-ins of tigers and snowleopards, so I've kind of assumed that fluffy ones are more pupular than sleak. There seem to be some lions as well and cheetahs are defenatly gaining in popurarity too. But it's harder to make big cat linearts since people seem to be pickier about the species likeness than people with different canine characters are.

Much like Tammys suggestion I've concidered purely generic cats in two dfferent versions, but I can't make up my mind about which two would be the best. A fluffy/sleak pair, a small/large pair, a stocky/slim pair... There are so many different combinations.

And then again, there's the problem with having people order; it's one thing to own a leopard character, another thing enterly to be prepared to order art of it rather than order art of ones (wolf) fursona. This is why I'm in no rush wasting my time making more than one or two linearts for big cats.

Thank you Sketchy, I'm glad that you like my linearts^^. To be perfectly honest, I only added visible teeth to my lineart to make it more similar to the CS rat, I don't really like it myself^^'. If you'd rather order without the teeth it's an easy edit to make, don't worry^^.

There's no pleasing everyone, I'm sure enough people would be satisfied with a sleek/fluffy pair. (;
