Demetri|Male|Scared|Talking to: Alysia/Zach/Cheyenne/Bailey/Paris

When he heard other pawsteps coming up behind them he went into an automatic defense mode. He scooted the pups tightly against the wall and crouched in front of them. If it were a strange dog chances were they would just pass over. Seeing it was only Bailey and Cheyenne he relaxed and stood. That discovery lifted a weight of his chest. He nodded his head to the pair. "Good morning." He responded brightly, trying to keep everyone's moods up and happy. He looked at Cheyenne who hadn't said anything at all. "Hello there Cheyenne. I see you joined Bailey on a raid." He commented and smiled, trying to make the youngster talk instead of only stand there.
Hearing another voice bark out the other pup's name Demetri looked over to see Paris. He couldn't help but think Paris a funny name for a male dog. But he didn't say anything, that was just him after all, he thought everything funny in some way. Okay, maybe not everything. When Paris snapped at the pup's Demetri frowned. "Chill out Paris. No one saw them, they were just walking." He told the dog. Looking back at the two he nudged them back towards where the rest of the pack was. "Come on, we need to get back. Bailey, Cheynne. You better hurry before that food goes bad." He said softly. He walked behind Alysia and Zack, there was no need for Paris to yell at them and he wouldn't stand for it.

Bruce felt no sympathy for Niall being squished like a toy under him. In fact, he almost applied more pressure purposely after Niall's comment about his weight. He knew Niall was kidding, but that didn't stop him from squashing him to the maximum capacity of his capabilities, "Gee, thanks." He playfully stuck his tongue out before rolling off of Niall. Once he got his feet back under himself, he noticed how fast Niall's tail was wagging. Well, actually... He really had to strain his eyes to see how fast Niall's tail was going. It was going so fast that he almost couldn't see it. His friend seemed really spiritedly, despite just being rolled on by himself. Seeing his friend's excitement, he couldn't help but have his own tail get going as well. For Bruce, other's emotions often times rubbed off on him, he just couldn't help it! Niall's look caused Bruce to wonder what was going through his head, what did he have in mind when he bent his legs? Was he going to pounce on him? Well, if Niall did, he who had apparently put on some pounds would have even less mercy when rolling over on top of him.

He bent his legs to mock Niall's stance, just to be prepared in case Niall had any surprises for him. He found it a bit strange that Niall only sent his question back at him. He didn't question this verbally, but he tilted his head to the side a little in a questioning matter. He didn't expect for Niall to tell him why he had avoided his question, but that didn't stop him from wondering. Could it be because something bad happened? Oh, he hoped with all his being that that was not the case. It would be horrible if something were to have happened to anyone, especially Niall. He answered Niall's question a little quizzically, with a slight hint of suspicion tainting his voice, "I'm doing pretty well. The little nap you woke me up from did wonders for me." He laughed a little, "You should've seen me earlier. I was almost like a zombie." Then he asked another question of Niall, "What have you been up to?" He gave him a lopsided grin.

Gasping for air, she managed to stop her giggle-fit after a few seconds. She felt kind of bad for giving him such a scare, but he had laughed, so he took it pretty well. Even if he hadn't laughed... It still would have been really funny. She got back to her feet and her tongue lolled out of her mouth. She cracked another sideways grin when he told her she was weird. "And you are only just now realizing this?" She loved messing with other dogs, it really was fun to do. When he knocked her over, she squealed, "Hey!" She hadn't really felt like trying to keep herself on her feet, and he was stronger than her by far. She supposed she wouldn't have had much of a chance staying upright even if she had really tried. When he suggested that it was time to leave, her smile turned into a small frown "Aww, c'mon! But we were just starting to have fun." She pleaded with him, making her eyes bigger than they usually were. She got to her feet again after she said this, and only then did she really realize how much Demitri and Zach exceeded her in height. It was sort of depressing, actually, how she had to crane her neck in order to be able to look them both in the eyes.

Her right ear twitched suddenly, which alerted her that some dogs were coming. She instantly had the urge to run for the shadows, but she resisted it. Zach and Demitri had seen the dogs already, since they were facing that direction, and from their faces she could see recognition. She turned her body to face the newcomers, and she recognized the grown male, it was Bailey. However, there was another pup with him that she had not been acquainted with. The young female must be in the pack, otherwise she knew that Bailey would not have brought her to their small group. The three dogs were basically in the shadow of a building, the alleyway to be exact. That meant you would have needed to have had the fine-tuned eyes that the dogs of their "non-existent" pack often times had to find them. She gave Bailey a small smile, but his greeting was clearly not the most friendly of greetings. "G'morning Bailey." She said in response. She watched the young female closely, "Who's your friend?", she pointed her nose in the female's direction to clarify who she was talking about. The female appeared to be a little shy, that was understandable, so that was why she did not directly ask who she was. That might cause her a little discomfort, and Alysia did not want to be the cause of a dog's discomfort.

Before Bailey, or the strange female, could answer, the delta of their pack approached the group. She could tell his scent apart from the others, as she had taken particular care to make sure that she knew the scents of the delta, beta, and the alpha. She did not want to be in a situation where she needed to know who one of them were, and she didn't know. That would not be a fun position to be in at all. As Paris neared them, she began fearing what would happen when he arrived. Since Demitri had already approached them about their whereabouts, there must have been concern in camp, which meant that they might get in trouble for having left the bridge without permission from Bruce. Almost instantaneously she shook this thought from her head. If she got in trouble, who cares? It wasn't really like they could dictate exactly what she did. Sure, she would try harder to remember to ask, so they didn't get worried about her, but... You know, she needed a little freedom. When he called their names, her heart jumped involuntarily. After hearing the questions and the aggressiveness in his voice near the end of his second question, she wasn't sure what sort of a mood he was in. If he was in a bad mood, she needed to be careful of what she said, but if he wasn't she could be a little looser with her words. She decided that she would stay neutral in the situation, so as not to provoke too much, but not be so rigid either. "I don't really know about Zach, but I was in an alley a few blocks that a'way." She pointed her nose up the road, "Doing here? Well, Demitri just found us here, and we've been here since. We were about to head back to camp." She decided to leave out the part with their run-in with the two-leggeds, and she put on an innocent smile. She hadn't lied so much on that one, and she was pretty proud of herself. It wasn't often you could get that honest of an answer out of her. However, since she hadn't been doing anything bad she didn't have to lie about anything. When Demitri told them to start heading back, she sighed. However, her feet did begin moving in the direction of the pack.

Bailey Male Raider

Bailey let a small smile show on his face as Alysia greeted him cheerfully, and had even given a small smile of her own. The sleek golden dog had been about to suggest that they hurry and get back to the George Washington Bridge, in order to get the food to the pack, when Paris appeared from where he and Cheyenne had just come. The male narrowed his eyes slightly at this, wondering where the tan dog had been the night before.

However, he held back the growl that itched at his throat when he heard Paris’ tone toward Alysia and Zach. The pups had carelessly wandered off on their own, true, but Bailey still didn’t like the sharp tone the Delta used on them. Before he could comment, Demetri spoke up for the pups and began to herd them back toward the GW Bridge. With a flick of his ear, the golden male picked up his gathered food in his maw before he nudged Cheyenne with his paw and followed behind the other three dogs. Demetri had been right, they had to get the food back to the “camp” before some of it spoiled in the growing sun and heat of the day.

Bailey made sure to keep his pace checked, in order to stay just behind Demetri and the other pups while keeping pace with Cheyenne. He had noticed the small pup’s shyness and hesitancy to speak with the other pups and wondered how he could help her get over her ever-present fear of others. Since she’d be living with the pack the rest of her life, she’d have to learn how to grow accustom to being around other dogs – and constantly encountering new canines since the dogs were often scattered about and not always in one place. Nose twitching as he pondered this, Bailey figured he could talk to Demetri on this as the other male seemed to know Zach and Alysia pretty well. Despite his aversion to interacting too much with other dogs, Bailey’s desire to help pups at any cost overrode any reservations he had toward other canines. Now all he had to do was figure out how to approach Demetri on this matter…

A Loner at Heart

Cheyenne Female Raider Trainee

Cheyenne stared wide-eyed at Demetri, surprised that the male acknowledged her and even smiled at her. She shifted on her paws, unsure of how she should respond to the older male when she saw the other female pup gazing at her. Instinctively, she drew back, her ears folding against her head, as the larger pup looked her over. However, she gave a little start at the fact that the other Border Collie didn’t address her, but rather asked Bailey about her. Cheyenne blinked in surprise. Was she trying to be respectful of the fact that the small merle collie was shy or did she just think that she wasn’t worth addressing directly?

Her train of thoughts was broken shortly after it started, though, as another dog approached their cluster. It was a medium-sized dog who stood with authority radiating off of him. Cheyenne cocked her head slightly, pondering this male’s rank as she openly stared at him – not realizing that her direct gaze could be considered rude, or even a challenge to the adult male. The female flinched at the Shar-Pei’s harsh tone, crouching instinctively even as relief flooded her that he wasn’t speaking to her in that tone.

Her gaze flicked between the Shar-Pei and the young Border Collie, apprehension causing her muscles to quiver. Shock rippled through the young dog as the slightly older pup spoke calmly back to the Shar-Pei – Paris she believed he’d been called. She’d have never been able to do something like that. She’s so confident in herself, Cheyenne thought wistfully wishing she could be the same way. But with a resigned sigh, the merle raider trainee got to her paws and followed behind Bailey as the group made their way back to the bridge she now called home. As they walked, Cheyenne noticed that Bailey kept his own gait similar to her small strides in order to not leave her alone in the back of the group. Her eyes glittered a bit with joy at Bailey's silent comfort, helping her to forget her worries about the other pups.

Niall was almost scared when Bruce gave him a slight tilt of his head. He seemed quizzical, like he wanted to know why he had shot it back, but didn't want to know at the same time. It wasn't like this hadn't happened before to Niall, just that he didn't like it very much. Usually after this occurred there was an air of tension between him and the other dog.
Bruce kind of reminded him of Cannon when he did this, along with the way he copied his stance. The whole bent-legs-and-really-super-fast-tail-wagging thing. But what Niall was happy to hear was that he didn't question him further about anything other than the normal catch-up lines, though his fur pricked in a hardly noticable way along his haunches when the suspicion was detected in his friend's voice.

He returned the grin. "Oh, y'know, hangin' around, wakin' you up." He laughed a little at this part, just a low chuckle of slight amusement. "Getting squashed, things like that." Niall winked at Bruce, before his smile faded.
"But between you and me, I'm really starting to wonder where in this messed-up world that prophecy is."

Her face was as hard as stone as Dezerae gazed out under the George Washington Bridge. The misty rays of the sun were barely seeping out over the distant hills, but they cast out a soft golden glow, bathing her stern face. Her eyes were narrowed into what looked like concentration, her mouth tightened to look like disappointment. Yet she seemed to have a heavy burden on her shoulders, the way her body was relaxed into an exhausted-looking form. If I could just be distracted by something, I would be fine, Dez thought, just as six dog-like silhouettes walked into her vision.

Dezerae jumped off of the crate she had been on, briskly starting towards the figures. She could recognize a few of them: Paris, the delta, Bailey, a raider, Alysia and Zach, who she wasn't really sure about what their rank was, and Demetri, one of the scouts. But there were six forms. Six. Then who was the other?
This, apparently, was going to be the distraction for Dez to concentrate on, and once they neared the edge of the bridge, she cocked her head at the newcomer, who she felt like she knew the name to, but addressed Paris. "Oh, good," the oracle apprentice started. "You're all here. I was wondering where you were. Who's this?" She stared straight into the younger dog's eyes, her own grey one's harder than steel.

Bailey Male Raider

Bailey pricked his ears as he noticed a dog-form walking through the slightly thinning fog toward them. He recognized the dog to be Dezerae, the oracle apprentice. As they drew closer to the camp below the bridge, the sheepdog approached their group with a purpose to her step. He was only slightly surprised to find that the oracle apprentice didn’t know who Cheyenne was. The young female had only recently come upon the pack, and even when she agreed to the terms and had stayed she kept mostly to herself. He’d been taken aback when she’d spoken for the first time, not by the fact that she talked, but that she’d asked him to take her on a raid with him.

However, once more, the pup was shy and reluctant as Dezerae stared at her. Cheyenne spoke softly, so soft that even though he was right next to her he had to strain to hear what she said. And she’d only done so, he believed, because he’d nodded to her when she glanced his way. There has to be a way to make her feel more comfortable with the pack, he thought with a mental sigh. While he wasn’t the most social of dogs, Bailey would talk to others in the pack and had no problem being around them. However, Cheyenne always drew into herself when around others, preferring to be like the shadows they hid in – silent and left alone.

Once again, Bailey thought of his initial idea to talk to Demetri about finding ways to get Cheyenne to interact with Zach and Alysia to help her with socializing. Of course, it would be hard to start off the conversation, as the majority of the pack knew he preferred to be on his own than “hanging out” with the pack members. The golden male was pondering this as he unconsciously kept tabs on the conversation between Dezerae and Cheyenne.

A Loner at Heart

Cheyenne Female Raider Trainee

Cheyenne stared up in awe, taking in the massive bulk of the bridge with widened eyes. Despite having been living with the pack here for a bit, the George Washington Bridge never ceased to amaze her. Sometimes, when the sun was near the horizon and the fog wasn’t as thick, it literally took her breath away. A wistful sigh puffed from her muzzle, pushing past the food there, as she watched the looming structure grow larger.

When a new voice came from nearby, she stumbled to a halt. Cheyenne’s blue and brown eyes widened in surprise as they met the gray gaze of a black dog. Ears flattening against her head, the young pup crouched lower to the ground instinctively – even as she continued to stare at the other dog. With a quick glance at Bailey, who’d remained next to her, she put down the food and kept her eyes focused on her paws.

“I-I’m Cheyenne,” she growled softly, the words mumbled to the ground. Cheyenne gave a soft sneeze, a nervous habit she’d developed shortly before being abandoned by her owner. She used her right forepaw to prod her catch gently as she waited for the older female’s reaction.

Shifting her weight from side to side the fae tilted her head when she heard Kodi sigh, a little worried about him. She seemed to worry over anything these days “You alright Kodi?”she asked concern etched in her voice as she spoke. Seeing as he seemed to be thinking of something else she turned her attention back to the task at hand, slowly appearing closer to the bridge. Thinking about what he had said about the prophecy she nodded slightly, had something gone wrong? Or had they just forgotten to tell the others about it, of course no one seemed to be worrying that much or it could be the fact that they had all seemed to be worrying about other things that they didn’t seem to have time to worry about prophecies.
Shaking her head a little to clear away some of her thoughts she looked at Kodi “How about we make this trip a little fun?” she asked smiling a little as she did so. It was good for some of them to relax, have a little fun sometimes, they didn’t have to be serious all the time and she wondered if anyone else thought the same thing.

Sniffing around a little Zach was a little surprised to see all the different pack members around the place though he decided to stay quiet for a few more minutes since he was started to get a little distracted by the smell of hotdogs. It made his stomach growl a little and even though his stomach was in pain he knew that he could probably have something to eat or drink… yea that sounded good about now. Looking at the others he padded around a little on his paws, remembering what the others had been talking about he was curious about what he should say or if he should say anything at all for that matter. Of course there were times when Alysia seemed to have everyone talking, it made him smile a little.

“I blame her” Zach muttered, only he wasn’t really sure who he was talking to so just decided to try and focus on the smell of the hotdog. But as others started to move around a little more and more dogs seemed to be appearing he started to wonder if they should all be in a group this big. Sniffing a little he lifted his head around before slowly moving away from the group. Shaking his head a little he had to move slow since his stomach was hurting, maybe he should tell one of the adults about it? He wasn’t completely sure what to do but hopefully he was doing the right thing, see if it go’s away right? Licking his lips a little he started to head towards the smell of the hot dogs, really he wasn’t sure if it was the right thing but his noise seemed to be leading him and he couldn’t deny the fact that his hunger was getting the best of him.

Licking his lips a little he started to follow his nose down the path towards the source of the hotdog smell. It reminded him of the times when he was a littler pup than he was already today. Of course some of those times weren’t that good but he was making new memories with the pack and hopefully they would all be good memories. But you can never really count on that, but just in case he would have to make those memories good and worthwhile. Sniffing a little he could feel the pain in his stomach start to annoy him again though he gulped a little and tried to focus on what he was doing, getting a hotdog.

Thinking about it really he started to wonder what the other dogs were like when they were pups… if they were pups. It was possible that at one stage in their life they were pups… what one to be exact is confusing. Sniffing around a little he sneezed, wrinkling his nose afterwards and shaking his head. Stuffing his nose up slightly he looked around wondering which way to go before he got to the hot dog stand, left, right or center? It was a tricky choose.

.:Kodiak|Male|Curious|Talking to ~ Kali:.
Kodi nodded,"yes, I'm fine." He looked this way and that and was looking for cars. He glanced up at the sky and smiled at its blueness. What makes the sky blue?, He thought to himself. He started to hum quietly and perked his ears, catching Kali's question,"Sure, what did you have in mind?" the white brute asked. I kept his head high and his eyes alert, but also watched all the different things go by. Things like boats, birds, humans. Never ending questions started to flaot into his head, none with answers of course. He smiled when he looked over into the water, thinking of how he loved to play in it as a pup.

Demetri|Male|Calm|Talking to: Alysia and Zach

Demetri's head snapped at Zach giving him a scolding glance. "Zach, stop that. You were here with her." He said softly, trying not to let the others here. He didn't want to embarass Zach, just make sure he didn't hurt Alysia with those words. With a sigh he kept walking till he noticed Zach not along with them. His eyes glanced around before he noticed where Zach had gone. "Zach no!" He barked. Turning on his heels he rushed over and slid to a stop in front, standing between Zach and his destination. With one quick motion he picked up the pup and hurried along, not giving any chance for escape. Once they reached the GW bridge he set down Zach, looking at him with serious eyes. "Alysia go play, Zach we need to talk." He said firmly. Once Alysia had left and the two were alone Demetri sighed. "What were you thinking Zach! Someone could have seen you! That was by far the worst idea!" He growled, calming down he sighed."I know you might be hungry, and a hot dog sounds great to me to but we can't just do that. There are certain consqeunces to our actions. Now go play." He bumped the pup towards the others and went to an empty box. It looked comfortable and he easily went in and laid down, resting his head on his paws.

ρɛℓт } Lyra has a wiry grey-brown brindle pelt which gives her a scruffy appearance with tussled hairs sprouting in all directions. The long guard hairs give her weather protection and warmth, without the heavy fluff of other breeds making it not unpleasant in summer. Her chest and underbelly are cream boarding on white, and her tail is marked with rings. The rest of her back and face are covered in near black stripes, condensing together to form dark points on her muzzle, ears and feet.

вʋιℓ∂ } A cross of two large sighthounds, Lyra is by no stretch of the imagination a small dog. However, every inch of her is built for speed and she lacks the power of a working breed, sacrificing strength for lean muscle and long legs that can propel her to great speeds very quickly. Thus while she may be quite a bit taller than other dogs, she may not necessarily be stronger.

∂ιƨтιиcтιʌɛ ғɛαтʋяɛƨ } Lyra is a very distinctive looking animal, with long exaggerated features and great hight. She has a very long muzzle packed with long teeth and large floppy ears that will stick out like flags on the side of her head when alert, yet fold close at other times making it look like she has no ears at all. All of this only enhances her sleek look.

ρɛяƨσиαℓιтʏ } Lyra is confident and authoritative, yet not to the point of cocky. She is simply a self assured and large fea who knows very well how to take care of herself. Woe be it for anyone who would try to dominate her through brute force, equally so to the coward who would run from her. Lyra needs others around her who are also strong and confidant, capable leaders who will set a good example. This is not to say she is unruly or disrespectful without cause, it is simply that one needs to earn her respect as it is not given lightly. She is also a dog of strong passions and feels all her emotions strongly. Love or hate, happiness or despair, there is nothing Lyra does or feels halfway. True to her nature, she tends to rush into things without considering the consequences. Luckily for Lyra, she is just clever enough to be able to get out of most of the trouble she finds.

нιƨтσяʏ } Lyra was born and raised as a coyote dog, her young life being spent in training to hunt down and kill the smaller canines. As harsh as this sounds, it was not a bad life for her and she was allowed to grow up with her parents and siblings, and the humans she lived with were always kind and kept her well fed and skills sharp. They would regularly take her hunting, often pairing her with her two brothers and sending them in chase of the wily predators. As the largest pup in the litter, she was frequently the one to make the final kill, and this earned her a bit of a favored spot with her humans. As ferocious as she was in tracking down her quarry, she relished their attentions and was always kind and gentle with them.

Lyra loved her life, no matter how violent and difficult it was. Unfortunately, as with all dogs who end up here, it was not to last. One day, her favorite human female came rushing into the house waving a tiny piece of paper, exclaiming something about winning. The human's mate was quickly caught up in her enthusiasm, and the three of them celebrated even though Lyra had no idea what was going on. Within a few weeks she found herself sitting in the back of the car, watching as her old home along with her family and the human's parents dwindled in the distance. Her humans had not stopped talking about 'leaving hicksville' and moving to the 'city' and going to 'parties' and all sorts of nonsense... She could only assume that was where they were heading now.

As the green dales and fair valleys that Lyra knew so well slowly gave way to an urban jungle of concrete and glass, she slowly felt her heart breaking. Her humans brought her into a big house with hard stone floors and more rooms than they could ever put people into. The worst part was the yard, a tiny little strip of green rimmed with six foot wooden fences and nowhere at all to run. Lyra was profoundly unhappy. There was no more hunting, nothing to chase and definitely no coyotes. At first, her humans tried to take her for walks to keep her in shape and socialized, but Lyra was far more interested in hunting down the other dogs she met. Making the park completely out of the question, and walking on a leash difficult at best. This left her nothing but the yard. No amount of time in that wretched little outdoor prison could satisfy her, and though she loved her humans still, they seemed to grow more distant every day

Lyra yearned to be useful again, to hunt, to kill and be praised for it. Exiled to the yard as her humans partied inside, a strange sound caught her ears, something like a 'meow' issuing out from the other side of the fence. Without a second thought she easily leapt over the barrier, and locked the creature in her gaze. The thing, whatever it was, was foolish enough to run and Lyra was on it in an instant. She caught it in less than ten strides, and though it didn't put up much of a fight, the taste of blood in her mouth and the thrill of the chase was reward enough. From that point on she never looked back. She wandered away from her home and deeper into the city. Her hunting skills meant she would never go hungry during her time on the streets, and she ate many cats and even some smaller 'dogs' that she found barely deserving of the word. Domineering and unwilling to submit to any of the other dogs she met, she fought and won many fights but never bothered to get to know any of them. When she learned of the pack living in the shadows she came willingly to find them, curious as to see just what made them hide.

(( GAH! I'm so sorry for not replying, I'll try and get my replies up sometime in the next few days, my exams are coming up.

@Soriams: Accepted! <3
Well, you could really do whichever you are more comfortable with. If you want her to be coming into the pack, perhaps she could be snooping around near the bridge and see one of the dogs in the pack. Then the dog would have to get a couple others and catch her so they could bring her back to Bruce. It might get a little physical if she didn't cooperate. >w>

But, you could always just have her be in the pack. ;3 ))
goodbye cs <3
thanks for everything!
