[Veins Of Opal]

"That's a great book." Vicente smiled as he glanced at the cover of the book Sigma had her eyes glued on. He stepped into the kitchen, glancing at the clock. It seemed to be around 5:30. He decided he'd go for his walk at about 6:00. He gave a soft sigh, meandering into the main room once again.

[Falls]

Sigma gave a little start at the sudden sound of Vicente's voice. She watched him leave and then return a few moments later, setting the book down and standing. "Now that you're out of the shower, you can have your chair back," she said with an apologetic smile, crossing the room and plopping down in a different one. She ran her fingers through her dark hair, which she'd brushed out during a break in her reading.

Vicente gave a chuckle, stretching as he sat into his chair. "We'll leave for our walk at dusk, in thirty minutes." he said in his usually cheerful tone. He silently wondered when Lucien would be back. It would take him at least a week to get rid of Artyom. But, Vicente was enjoying Sigma's company..

Sigma gave a small nod and a quick smile to match. "Sounds good. Do you go for walks very often here?" she asked, watching his face. Her eyes moved from his red eyes to his lips which showed small flashes of sharp canines whenever he spoke. But despite all this, he wasn't frightening or daunting once you got to know him. His vampirism gave him a dangerous, sharp beauty. And his kind demeanor softened the whole bit, making him an overall comfort to be around. Vicente felt safe to her.

"I do indeed. It keeps my mind off of other things." Vicente said softly, his crimson eyes flicking anxiously to the clock. He wanted to get some fresh air, and to clear his mind. "Let's go now. The sun should be low enough to not harm me." Vicente said as he stood, flashing another smile, though this time it was somewhat forced. He got antsy whenever his mind got too cluttered.

Sigma's eyes followed Vicente as he stood. She stood as well, stepping towards him and lightly laying a hand on his arm. "Are you sure? The half-hour isn't up yet. Isn't the sun still setting?" She gave a slightly worried frown, watching his face.

[lol, i can relate. I can definitely relate.]

"It is, but we can just walk in the shade of the trees. It's rather stuffy in here." Vicente said in his soft voice, a frown on his lips as she lightly touched his arm. His mind and emotions were conflicting with each other, and he needed to get out and breath the fresh air.

[Falls]

Sigma hesitated and then nodded. "I suppose. It's not like I could stop you anyway. Lead the way." She dropped her hand and glanced towards the ladder, curiously wondering what had suddenly made Vicente so anxious to get out into the open air.

Vicente quickly climbed up the ladder, opening the steel hatch and getting out of the Fort, He held the steel hatch open for Sigma, standing in the shadow of the trunk as the golden rays of sunlight sought out that which wasn't hidden by the shadows. He had once loved the sun, so many years ago. That had all changed, of course.

[Falls]

Sigma climbed the ladder after Vicente, pulling herself through the hatch and stepping halfway into the sun to make more room for him in the shadows. She looked to the west at the sunset, watching the redish light tint the clouds pink and the ground orange. Sunset, in her opinion, was the most beautiful time of the day.
