Thank you! Amadeus is a big guy, but he's pretty fat. xD I need to help him lose some weight, lol.
Your guys' rats are so cute~! I love all of the babies, BigBang. :3 I bet it will be exciting to see them grow and change. And Appletear, I love Monkey! She's super cute! Does she have black eyes or pink eyes? I can't really tell in the pictures.

The babies are completely gorgeous- as are the adults!
I'm curious. You can see the markings of the babies, but is this because their skin is coloured according to what their fur is, or because they're covered in a thin layer of fur, or something else? Sorry for my dumbness.

I just read the pet smart posts, and I would like to add to that too.
We don't have any pet smart stores here as far as I know, but I do know from first hand experience that getting a pet from a pet store doesn't have to be all bad. Actually, most of my rats grew older than 3 years. I have head 11 or so, and 2 of them died while they were still young, one at 2 and a half, the rest all got older than 3 or really close to.
I got 2 ratties from a breeder, and they have been rather sickly from the start even though their parents were really healthy and well taken care off. One of them past recently, the other is nearly 3 now, but not exactly healthy.
I am not saying getting your pets from a breeder is a bad thing, just that it doesn't really matter where you get them. As long as you study well into how to recognise a healthy pet. And also check out the other pets in the store.

They get their markings in before their fur, if that's what you were asking. In fact a couple of them in that picture barely had any fur.

Thanks for the info. Good luck with them!

I had a rat that did that once. He was the only rat that ive ever owned that did that so i dont know if its common
