The tabby tom's head shot up at his leader's words. Glancing over at Breezepaw, he stood, shook out his fur, and walked forwards. This was it. He was going to become a warrior and make his mother proud. It didn't matter that he hadn't known his father: he knew, deep down, that his father would have been proud of him anyway.

The mostly white she-cat smiled sweetly at her brother as she joined him in standing before Spiderstar. Her fur had been groomed anyway, and now she found it helped her presentation as she waited for the ceremony to continue. I hope I get a nice name. She thought. Something gentle but powerful.

The tom pushed out his chest proudly, sitting tall. He was no longer an apprentice: no, he was a warrior, one that would do absolutely anything to protect his Clan.
Dipping his head in thanks to his leader, he swiftly rasped his tongue over Spiderstar's shoulder, as was custom for the ceremony. Then, glancing at the sky, he stepped back to allow his sister to step forwards and settled down, ready for the vigil.

As her brother stepped away, the white and brown she-cat took his place, also rasping her pink tongue over Spiderstar's shoulder in a sign of acceptance, happiness, loyalty and thanks. She may be a gentle warrior, but she would fight fiercely for her Clan should the need arrive: that was what the vow was for.
