Zoë: I'm definitely no expert on human anatomy, as I'm still trying to perfect it myself, but here's some things I noticed:
The eyes are too far apart and I think should be a bit larger. The chin should be moved back a bit and should be a little less flat. The ear can be moved down and made larger, and the neck should be a little thicker. ^^ What I suggest is Googling for 3/4 views of human faces and base your proportions off of those. Or even use yourself as a ref! (I actually do that, haha. I take pics with my webcam and practice drawing the head + the way it connects to the neck at different angles).

Alduin: Wow, that's great. Kind of creepy yet serene at the same time. I don't really draw canines all that much though, so I know even less about them and their proportions that I do about humans.

WitchOraelin: Something I would suggest right off the bat is to not blur out the shading that much, whether you're using the blur/smudge tool or just a really soft brush. I did that too, when I first started doing digital... and I notice that it's something that a lot of people tend to do.

So... just something I sketched up. :D

I'm planning on coloring this and making it nice and pretty, because they are my OTP (for whatever strange reason) and I want to make them look good. >:D

Susiron, how do you shade like you did on Lanio? I really like it!

The ear is proportionately small for the head, and there needs to be more chin eyes are also a bit far apart by size.

Gah trying to decide if I should put up my latest WIP, redliners and critiquers will tear it apart I'm betting XD

Would anyone be interested in red-lining a sketch?
(It's very quick and rough, I'm definitely planning to expand on it later c:)

If so, please PM me! You'd also have to be willing to continue redlining different stages of the picture. ^w^
The link has 3 versions of it - a jpeg, a psd file and a sai version of the sketch.

Thank you in advance, and I apologize for any trouble I've caused!

I wasn't sure how much they knows, so I just found ones that cover the basics.

This one goes through the basics but is actually pretty helpful. It got a DD and I used when I first started using PS.

This tutorial goes more with the colouring/shading hair and techniques they use, but it has some pretty helpful tips.

I would look at AdobeTV But it's currently covered with PS CS6 tutorials, so you'll need to do searching. They go into more complex uses of Photoshop, I watch them in scool if I needed help.

Yeah, I agree with mistywren. The ear is a bit too small. The chin looks off to me, but I'm not sure wat you would do with it. I'm not very good at those angels!

Since I'm here, I might as well ask. I really need someone to tell me the best techniques for digital painting in PS. I've been slowly ripping the internet apart but I can't find anything that helps. I feel really stupid asking amazing artists, tougth most of them are happy answer, but I really need some to say what tools are the best.

My main problem is the blending. I can put down the colours but I can't do the blending!

just popping in here real quick before i go and watch tv

i have literally no clue how big this is
i've been working on a huge monitor/flat screen tv as a monitor lately so i still have to get used to the sizing aha
anyway critiques and such welcome but it was very simple and done in probably 30 minutes as a gift for thisunithasasoul on tumblr

@ drifting sakura ; do you have a tablet? which version do you use? if you use a newer one, like photoshop elements 7 and up,then i suggest using some custom brushes.
if you use a tablet i can easily suggest you some that work great if you tweak the pressure setting. download these and load them in as custom brushes in ps
these have to be my favourite to use really, because i can sketch, line, and colour with them with ease. if you have pressure sensitivity i suggest turning it on opacity and size, and airbrusg on if you so please.
    x
i did this wih just the hard round detail and it works great to paint with as well if you mess with it.

@ starmz ; the link doewsn't go anywhere but a mediafire account.,i'd suggest uploading onto tinypic, imageshack, deviantart,or photobucket. uvu
also there's not really a point in redlining three same pieces,as they arent meant to be referenced from, but to help with mistakes.

@ marmoset ; do you mean actual layers,or just the use of them?
i could easily whip one up if you gave me some specifics? <:

@ zoe ; the face seems to lack basic proportions is the thing, their right eye is too far away from the nose, and appears too small in comparison. and the eyes are a tad uneven,i'd suggest flipping the canvas horizontally every once in a while to realize small perspective flaws. the ear is lacking basic shape, and is too small and low down for a normal structure. i may be able to redline if you so wish?

@ yunyi ; that is a really great sketch!! i can't see much to critique with it right now,as it's just a free sketch right now,and it hasn't been detailed completely and utterly to where flaws show more.

@ alduin ; that looks pretty cool, the concept is really interesting! you may want to show a more arched front side though or else they would be slipping off completely. or make the back side more towards the rock and almost clinging to the side because they're falling off. i think you may be missing some structure on the bones, but i'm not sure, because i dont draw bones because shapes are so much easier to work with than them.

@ witch ; i'm guessing you're using photoshop elements or CS5?? i suggest shading with a more blue, purple,or red colour because it looks sorta dingy when shaded with the colour you used. especially use red on the skin! it's natural tinting of the flesh i believe.i think you also need to work on your anatomy more,so i could assist you with a redline if you so wish?
in the future i'd try using more unique light sources, like coloured, from different angles, all that good stuff because it really opens up the picture!

if anyone needs more help i'll be round probably.

Oh, that looks really darling. A tip when drawing a animal missing legs though, make sure that it' compensates for the lacking limb to be able to keep it's balance. The lonely leg is usually kept closely under the mid line of the body, this picture demonstrates it really well (it's a photo of a three legged dog).
Other than that it looks just lovely, I love the thick-lines style you used and I especially like how you drew the neck. Great job for such a quick drawing.

Hello, I waswondering if I could get a little bit of help?

http://www.iaza.com/work/120514C/iaza19545646664100.png

My picture is not perfect, I do not want a correction on anatomy, and I use a mouse so my lines are not straight, I'm sorry. I was wondering if I could get some help of what colors to use? I was thinking dark colors, but I'm really not sure, any help would be amazing<3Thank you!

Does anyone here use DA muro and know how to submit the image instead of a video of drawing it?
