Decided to draw my strange OC, Lanio, who is based off of an even stranger Gaiaonline avatar that I use frequently.
Lanio's more of a derp character really and not for any real purpose, but even he has his own bit of a backstory and biology, since I can't seem to resist making up things for OCs.
Lanio was sold off at a young age to a facility that would experiment on him excessively over the years. The main aim of the scientists throughout these procedures was to alter his very being. Combining the blood of Clades, the god of destruction and injury into the boy, they sought to create their own form of a "demigod." Upon the combination, Lanio suffered through an arduous metamorphosis in which his very body was torn apart on itself many times, reshaping in unheard of ways.
Changes complete, Lanio was left a monster with health concerns in tote. Though his head may seem initially to be cause for concern, complete and utter stripped bone, it is actually his torso and hands that are of issue. Though fleshless, both his head and neck work as if every muscle and tissue were still there, only invisible to the eye. There is no real reason for why this is so; many of the scientists assume that his blood relation to Clades-- well known for being depicted with open gauges and showing bones that cause his body no ailment-- is why Lanio's body functions in this manner. About the only issue his strange head seems to present, is that his voice comes out in a very hushed, grating tone.
His torso, on the other hand, is much less of a flawless design.
From Lanio's belly down he is all serpent. Outside, the progression to snake seems very smooth, but internally, his intestines are wound up and distorted. Due to this, it is very difficult for Lanio to digest food, and he is prone to illness. On some occasions, he has been known to vomit blood.
Though not as serious, his hands can also pose as a worry to Lanio. They are covered in hard skin and scales alike his lower body, but are very stiff and jagged. Because of this, he has severe issues with arthritis, and finds it difficult to complete tasks that require small movements of the hands.
Personality-wise, Lanio's pretty much just a quiet, yet temperamental soul. Though he's been through a lot in life, he has no memory of himself as a human, and because of this does not feel wronged or saddened by his predicament. He considers the scientists to sort of be fathers to him-- strict ones, at that. Though not angry at these "father figures," he is a bit disdainful to them and wishes for some more freedom to do his own thing.
Lanio's not a serious character, and will never be used much past derpiness, but I figure that he'd progress in his own was by somehow leaving the facility he was raised within, pitting himself into the real world.
The world he's from is heavily influenced by gods and spirits, so he wouldn't be TOO out of place. He'd cause quite some alarm, but I figure there'd be a missing puzzle piece somewhere for him to fall into line, perhaps regarding Clades himself.
I just made up the majority of this right not at 5:30 am, and desperately need sleep, so if some of it doesn't make any sense, you know why. lD
