Re: Semi-Literate+ and Roleplayer's Club

Postby rose; » Sat May 12, 2012 9:23 am

I can now say I'm an official semi-litterate role-play xP oh the joy xD
I've noticed it's been rather hard to find a good one x one role - player [ at least two paragraphs ] that's willing to make one with Me. They last for a week or so, and I'm left hanging with no reply D: Which is disappointing... Since I don't tend to join group ones.

Also, I have an idea that I'd like feed back on :3
So, I've seen a lot of romance group role -plays out there, but that's all it is. A summer holiday trip, etc. and it's teens falling in love, but no... Story behind it. To Me anyway.
So, I came up with this.
It's your average highschool, in an average sized town. But, [ insert number here- I was thinking 4-6 ] new kids moved here over the summer, in your grade [ which is seniors ] but no one has seen them yet. What they only know is that the next year of the seniors loves that are spent in public is going to be filmed [ secretly of course ] for a TV show. The goal of the show?
The new kids in the neighborhood are competing to see how many peoples hearts they can steal. All they have to do is go on three dates- that's one point.
Get the person to kiss you- 2 points.
To say they love you- 6 points.
And of course, some people really would 'fall' for each other, and then they wouldn't want to break up with them...
And the catch? Everyone has a secret. A disorder, family problems, or even as simple as having a total irrational fear that's kind of embarrassing.

So in other words, a lot of drama, make ups, break ups, etc, and i thought if anyone was interested I'd try and make it... See how it went anyway. I tried to make a less thought of version a while ago, but it sort of flopped. I thought it would be able to be kept going for a while too... *shrug*

Riliane & Allen wrote:On the sky-pirate idea I brought up awhile ago, I made a draft of that plot:

It's 3014.
Nearly every country has closed it's borders, every piece of life is strictly controlled. Everything has rules; the people are assigned a place to live, a job, sometimes even who to marry. However, that's them. You are one of the free.
You are a sky-pirate. A child, probably. You couldn't take the life laid out for you; No matter the reason, the Sky-Pirates are always accepting of new recruits. They are the only free ones. They keep their ships running, rarely setting foot on the ground. Some are large, like a cruise ship that sails through the skies rather then the seas, some are small little planes that one or two can keep running. They buzz through the air like flies, but few understand what keeps them going.

They raid. They raid the citizen's establishments, treasuries, any place that might have treasure, each others ships. They fight with swords and that semi-useful guns of the age. They train, they get better, they keep their ships flying.
Sometimes, the groups of sky-pirates go so far as to declare war on one another, and aiming to hit the other into submission.

That is what is going on now. The two largest of Sky-Pirate groups, each owning several large ships and an arsenal of smaller ones, have an argument that has been yet to be settled. The new treasure, refereed to as 'The Lost Fantasy' or just LF, was previously just a rumor. LF is supposed to be a utterly entrancing hidden room of glittering jewels, worth a fortune and spoken of in legends, their beauty unmatched. It was just a bed-time story for Sky-Pirates, until one lone thief, a boy by name of Aiken, claimed to have found it. Unfortunately where he chose to hide while waiting for offers wasn't safe enough, and both groups found him simultaneously. Trying to flee from his pursuers, Aiken slipped on the edge of a roof and fell to his death. The information was lost, if he ever had it, but in his bag and scattered throughout his room: a dozen of flawless, colored jewels.

Both groups immediately tried to claim the jewels, and both left thinking they got a bad deal. However, information, both real and fake, about LF became growing more plentiful. Within a month, both groups were fighting for every scarp of info. Withing two, they were at war to try to force the other to step down and stay out of the way on their quest.

LF isn't a top priority anymore as raids from the other group grow more common, but defense and revenge have grown to be always important. Those above you in command, they tell stories about the horrors of the other group and how they must be crushed. And during this war of sky-pirates above the city, LF is not completely forgotten either...

To those who were interested and anyone who is now: anything I should add? ^^ Anyone want a reserved slot, as there won't be many spaces?

This sounds so amazing! I would really love it if I could reserve one boy and one girl slot.

Would anyone be interested in a stray dog roleplay, with a plot that's somewhat similar to "Homeward Bound"? I was thinking of allowing up to eight characters and having them be on a journey trying to find their home.

Rilliane & Allen / Hikari & Kiro: Sounds like a great RP! When are you thinking of starting in? I'd love to reserve a slot, but I won't be able to RP properly until the 23rd or so. :-/
INSANELY BUSY!
I am moving! For the next month or so, I am going to be so very busy.
If I'm on here, it's because I'm unwinding with writing or pets or whatever.
Please do not add to my stress, if you can. Your support is appreciated.

Rilliane & Allen- So well thought out! I'd love to join, especially now that I only have four or so that are still worth my time. (The sad thing is, I own three of them at least partially. It seems that nobody on here can keep a plot going for more than a month.)

With that and progidy's roleplay, (that she needs to post before I self destruct from impatience) I'll be all set for a quality summer! XD

One more thing- ET, I didn't know you were here too! Then again, so is Promise, so either the CS world is tiny, or I'm just really slow. I'm going to indulge myself with the thought that it is the first.
We're both aboard on an airship as it flies
And it's chasing for a star hiding from our eyes
And before all our feelings will subside
Let's escape past the air, the atmosphere

My eyes they looked into the night sky a bit too much
And then found light it turned into a painful touch
If this world will keep on spinning in the time ahead
You should go and find a reason to live on instead
Saying bye this afternoon is really too soon

Form:
Username: PaintTheWind
Favorite type of RP: Don't exactly have a favorite
Sample of writing:

Avery walks down the long dark hall-way. It was quite clear to her that this part of the building has been abandoned. Spiders and other bugs run across the floor and her footsteps echo around the place. Cautiously she creeps forwards until she reaches the exit; glad to be rid of that creepy place. It was starting to give her chills down her spine. She turns down a path and picks up her pace so that she’s sprinting down the hallways looking for a place to be free from. She stops, panting and out of breath and slumps against the wall. The coolness of the bricks feels good against her skin as she presses her forehead against it. Slowly, her heart stops pounding and she can breathe again. Carefully, she steps out of the shadows ready to face what is in front of her.

She wants out; to be free from this horrid place where nothing seems to make any sense. Every turn she makes ends up being a wrong one no matter how right it may have seemed at first. She snuggles deeper into her jacket and summons up all the courage she can muster and starts walking again. Her footsteps start to echo again as she desperately searches for an exit. It has occurred to her that this is all a mind-game, hilarious to the maker horrifying to the player. The person at the start told her good luck, and made her give him her phone. Now, she understood why. She leaned down to pick up a rock and tossed it up into the sky, closing her ears as the deafening ringing began. There was a dome surrounding the maze and the wave-lengths of a cell phone could crack it and help her get out. Avery groans as she realizes she’d never get out of the maze.

(Not the best Sample at all)

Ah, people are interested! o.0 I'll be sure to reserve you all the slots when I make the RP! ^_^
I'll probably make it tomorrow morning(it's late at night now for me). (:

Also: on what literacy an RP is, what would a minimum ten-line paragraph be? Semi-literate, literate, etc?
Also, is there a difference between 'semi-literate' and 'semi-literate+'? I've seen both terms used.

I've never seen semi-lit+ used, but now that I think about it, you should probably use that term... Semi-lit can be interpreted as 3+ sentances, but literate brings to mind 3+ paragraphs.
I know that when it is called semi-lit but has super strict requirements, it usually scares people looking for a 3+ sentance SL away. (like me, though I've gotten over that)
