Sleetpaw nodded, stalking forward slower. His tail flicked silently as his icy blue eyes scanned the area. The tom's mouth was open and then, the scent of mouse hit him. Grinning, he slowly walked forward. And in a brief second, he pounced it and bit into it. "I got it!" He purred to Duststorm, smiling wide.

Sprucepaw's heart twinged at the sound of pain in the queen's voice. "I will." She meowed quietly in reply, edging closer to Applesong. She dropped the bundle of herbs on the ground beside her, and gingerly sniffed Applesong's side. The kits were definitely coming. She placed a raspberry leaf close to the she-cat's mouth. "Eat this." She instructed, gently stroking Applesong's fur to soothe the queen. She could feel Applesong's body preparing to kit, and was ready to do anything else should something go wrong.

Applesong

Applesong ate the raspberry leaf, as she was instructed. Knowing how long this process was, she relaxed. Waiting, she knew this was natural, and her body knew what to do. Applesong let herself be soothed by Sprucepaw's gentle stroking. The queen looked up at her mate, glad that he was here. His scent helped calm here.

Wiseheart purred softly and nudged his shoulder gently. "You're welcome." she said in a soft, sweet voice. Her olive green eyes sparkled in the sunlight and she smiled. "So, where exactly did you come from?" she asked curiusly. She wanted to know more about this tom.

Tigerstripe blinked, looking down shyly. "My clan was a very small clan. A bunch of no-good rogues attacked us and all I remember after the fighting was waking up to see my family and friends dead..." he looked down, facial expression kind of sad. He knew it was working; his innocent, sweet act on Wiseheart. He was a pro. "I...I ran away, feeling so alone... All I longed for was a second chance. Timberclan is my new safe haven now." He looked up, staring at the camp and waved his tail around as he spoke. He looked back at the she-cat and blinked his lonesome, icy eyes. "I still don't understand why I was the only one-" he broke off, voice cracking.

Wiseheart frowned and sadness gripped her heart. "I'm so sorry." she mewed, regretting even asking, "But, don't worry, while your here, I'll help protect you." she said kindly and gave a warm purr. Tigerstripe was kind of growing on her. But poor Wiseheart didn't know it was all an act. Tigerstripe is pretty nice. I feel so terrible about what happened to him... But now he has me... and the clan of course! Heheh... she thought to herself. Wiseheart smiled at the sad tom and rested her tail around his shoulders for comfort.

Sprucepaw concentrated on the task ahead. She pushed away the fear of knowing this was her kitting by herself. She had seen Duckpond do it a few times, and knew what to do. It was only the confidence she lacked. She couldn't show it, though. She knew a queen would panic if they noticed their medicine cat was nervous or unsure. She took a slow breath, her paw continuing to stroke Applesong. "Ready?"

Song

Song made her way out of her House-folk's den. The racket could still be heard, the banging of pots and pans mostly, but it was more peaceful in the fresh-air. She let out a small sigh, licking her ruffled fur so it covered the new bruise blooming on her skin. Being hit with a pan hurt, and didn't she know it. The fur still pricked softly as she licked it, the wet strands fighting to keep a disarray.

Sly

Sly made his way down the deserted street. Fluffy tail flicking slightly behind him. With a small impatient huff, he broke into a run. Hie long legs covered the pavement easily, pushing him faster with each stride. A small, small smile played on his lips, giving away the small sense of euphoria he felt. There was a rat just on the other side of the street, and he had a chance at it.

Duckpond nodded, listening to her problems. He should probably hand her some Juniper leaves for her coughing and for breathing- then to heal a sore neck, he COULD use the roots of a deathberry, but... "Quack." Duckpond gave a cough and stood up."Well, if it's difficulty in breathing, I can get you some Juniper. Maybe some Honey as well. If there's no open wound on your neck- then I could use the roots of a deathberry. It'll relieve the pain." He left moonshade's side for a moment to rummage through his herbs- finding that some were missing. Curious, he looked up and over, searching for his apprentice to ask where they had gone.

Ah, but the little kit was also missing. "Quack." Duckpond didn't bother to question it. His apprentice was a smart and capable kit- if he left with some herbs, he will trust it would be for good reason. He returned to the side of moonshade, the leaves of Juniper and the roots of deathberries nearby. "Is it just breathing that's a problem? Or is it the neck that's very sore? Are there any open wounds?" He was asking both the patient and himself as he inspected the cat- looking her neck very carefully. He felt very repetitive- but oh well. Duckpond decided to offer Moonshade some leaves to help clear her throat.

Applesong

Applesong took a deep breath and nodded.

Applesong looked at the five newborn kits beside her. All of them were moving, they were all alive! Applesong was so relieved that she didn't even feel exhaustion from the long kitting. Four toms and one little she-kit. They were all perfect. She licked every one on top of their tiny little heads. Then she looked up at Spiderstar. "They are all so perfect" She mewed softly.
