Name: Cain II Location: Streets of London II Mood: Disturbed

Well now. That had not been the reaction the Arch-Demon had been expecting at all. He was used to feeding from souls and living off fear and anger, and yet...She displayed none of these. The demon let out an involuntary hiss to show his displeasure. Cain had been in this world a long time, but only come across a few demon hunters here, but they'd been different. When hearing of his past endeavours, they would become angry and attempt to kill him. Of course this would not end up well for them, as the inexperienced don't survive long in a world as hostile as this. But that must've been it. They were all young, fresh new hunters out in the country. Probably didn't get many demons to deal with and thus didn't require as intensive training. Raising a delicate eyebrow, the Arch-Demon eyed this hunter for a second before deducing that yes, she was an experienced fighter. And yes, she could handle herself well. And she was just as he'd thought. A member of the main five families that were experts in their field. Cain had indeed heard of the Eventide family, and he hoped that he'd been mentioned at least once in some of their books and whatnot. He did enjoy causing mischief in the human world. Now- what was it that the Eventide family could do? Scratching his chin thoughtfully, Cain didn't see the fire in the woman's eyes until she saved her expensive looking hat from catching fire, causing the demon to grin widely. So- she controls fire? The day continued to get more interesting as it progressed.

However the name Eventide still burned itself into his memory. Where had he heard that name before?! Growling in frustration, the Arch-Demon continued to grasp through his muddled memories until it hit him. With an unusually loud snap of his gloved fingers, Cain ignored her question about himself, instead addressing her once more. "Eventide!" He exclaimed, before bursting into a fit of side-aching giggles. "You were the ones that controlled the Fawkes two-hundred years ago?!" He exclaimed again, clenching his sides as his body convulsed at the hilarity of the situation. Very abruptly, the laughing stopped and Cain stood up straight the glint of teeth shining through a sadistic smile "Yeah- That was a fun day" He smirked out, before his body was reduced to a few wisps of smoke one more. Letting part of his body materialise, the Cheshire smile hung in the air, quivering slightly as it grew wider and wider, lips splitting as it did, causing black blood droplets to squirm from the open wounds. The wide grin hung in the air for a few moments, before it smoothly glided over to the Eventide woman, bobbing up and down comically. "Well- If you must know, my name is Cain VanderLef" The smile spoke, a voice coming, seemingly out of nowhere. The phantom expression continued to swirl tauntingly round the woman's head, leaving a chilling trail of black air in it's wake.

"I am an Arch-Demon, what are you?"

◘◘"Why should I tell you, smoke boy. What gives you the right to know my most personal secrets? You think you're so special, but really...you're all the same. Demon scum. Parasites. Killers." Cassandra leaned close to the smile and wiped her finger along the bloody lip, catching a drop. She grinned and smeared it onto her handkerchief. "This, is you, when I get my hands, or preferably my blade, on you." she muttered dangerously, and sent the piece of fabric up in smoke. Flames lapped at the material, and she dropped it, where it fell, burning, into a pile of mud.

She grinned, her smile wide and innocent. She looked right where the eyes would be on the demon if it was materialised. "But I'll tell you a secret. I'm an Elemental. So don't make me, or my brother, angry. You won't like the consequences." she whispered, then dropped a kiss onto the smile. Just a brush of her velvet-soft lips against his smile. A teasing, I'm-going-to-cut-out-your-heart-and-feed-it-to-the-dogs kind of smile. And now it would be left behind wondering what just happened.

Still grinning, she wheeled her steed round, and started to walk away, calling back to the creature "And remember Cain. I'll be waiting for your blood." she said, softly enough for only the Arch-Demon to hear. In truth, he frightened her - that couldn't be denied. But, she was tough, and she'd faced worse. And she was slightly curious.

((LOL. Cain's all 'Wut just happened..?' ;n;))

Name: Cain II Location: Streets of London II Mood: Rage

The wide grin contorted into a snarl of rage at her actions. How dare she! How dare she?! A filthy, disgusting, probably rabid human had just said and done that! She'd even had the audacity to kiss him! He was probably going to contract some kind of disease now. The rest of his body materialised out of pure shock, leaving the demon hovering on a rapidly darkening cloud. A vein in his neck began to jut out as the anger overtook him, making the shadows bigger and begin to engulf his body. However like most things with Cain; the shadows disappeared very suddenly causing the demon to smoothly land on the ground that was now only a few feet below him. Hands in suit pockets, the demon watched the girl leave on her equine debating on what to do. Kill her... Engulf her body in the shadows of our past...Suck her soul dry...Yes her soul, a soul like that would be worth much...her soul. Soul. Soul. Soul. 'Cease your jabbering mouths, you fools!' The demon roared inside his mind, causing the other Arch-Demons who had been watching the whole affair to hush up instantly. Except for one, an elderly Arch-Demon so old that he was probably one of the first demons ever to have been created. There are many souls to be had in this realm you were so kindly gifted it began, deep voice speaking slow filled with knowledge; If you refuse to take those worth consuming, only happy with meagre farmers and weak children, then perhaps the rest of us should give you a hand it threatened dangerously. Filled with rage at his own kind once more, the Arch-Demon shut them out of his mind for now so he wouldn't have to listen to their drivel. Of course that dialogue had only occurred in a short space of time, and now that he focused his inky gaze on the girl once more, she'd only moved two or three feet at the most. "Fools..." He hissed viciously, hoping that somedemon was watching just so they'd heard that.

The Arch-demon continued to watch as she left, his usual smile now a permanent frown. For now at least. He would have to find out about these Eventide's and especially this one. Why had she not attempted to kill him just like the rest? He would have to find out, and when she did try, he would beat her to the ground, just like the rest. Narrowing his eyes, the demon took a large step backwards however disappeared as if he'd just moved behind a curtain. Infact he had found the smallest shadow nearby and used it as a gateway into the 'Dark universe'. Here he could see anything, but couldn't do anything. Instead could only observe. Every soul lit up, their colour depending on how pure they were. Locking his eyes on the woman's soul, he was surprised to see how bright she was. Not a pure like he would have liked, but she most definitely had what he was looking for. A quality soul, that would add many more years to his own, better than an inane farmer. When he got the chance he'd have to extract that soul very, very painfully. But for now, he would stay in one of the nether-worlds in order to follow her back to her humble abode. There the Arch-demon would observe her and the rest of her family...until the time was right.

((If you want me to change anything about what I wrote, about the soul part, please tell me x3 ))

◘◘Cassandra grinned as Cain left, blissfully oblivious that he was watching her every move. His very presence had chilled her to the bone, and she shivered violently, her skin tingling with cold. She carefully made her way along the streets to her mansion, her horse taking care not to slip in the filth that lined the streets. She rode once more through those large gates with the cast iron "E" in each one.

Her valet took her horse from her when she dismounted, leaving her to enter the house alone. She was chilled, and not even her inner fire could warm her. No, what she needed was a stiff drink to get that demon out of her head. She entered her chambers and grabbed a glass and some whiskey, filling it with the amber liquid. She drank it down in one large gulp, smiling as it carved it's fiery path into her stomach.

"That's better." she muttered to nobody in particular. Drinking whiskey was not seen as proper for a lady, but then she wasn't a proper lady. She crossed the large room to her desk, and opened a drawer. She took out her journal and began to record her experience in flowing scripture.

Tuesday, 7th.

Met Arch-Demon by the name of Cain whilst riding down Oxford Avenue.
Powers were; summoning shadows, evaporating, and letting body parts hang in the air.
Blood tastes of vinegar - high acid content?

She signed off and thought of the blood she had licked off her own lips. Her kiss was a very sneaky way of obtaining his blood as it beaded across his lips. Another point for her womanly wiles! She smiled and leaned back, leaving the journal open on the page she had just written.

Name: Cain II Location: Eventide Mansion II Mood: Curiosity

As his subconscious weaved in and out through the muted world, Cain smirked. His suspicions were correct. She was going to go back to her headquarters, the route to which, he would memorise another day. Right now the demon just wanted to see what this girl did at her house. How many others there were, and how powerful each member was. So he was more than a little disappointed when the only other human she encountered was the servant. Curious, the Arch-Demon materialised inside the stable where the valet was- well had, been attending to the horse. Said equine must've recognised his dark presence and just about manage to kick up a big enough fuss for the human to whip around just in time to see Cain's body step out from one of the corners in the shadows. Automatically, the demon raised an arm to drain the man of his soul however stopped himself halfway. Instead using the same hand to just feel. After his encounter with that woman, Cain knew what he was looking for in the man, however found none. Frowning, Cain took a step back into the shadows before entering the 'Dark-universe' once more. That man did not possess the same power that the woman had. Therefore; he was not worth the demon's time.

Making a beeline up the driveway, the demon materialised outside the door, before pressing an ear against it. No sound. Raising an eyebrow, he looked through the nearby wall-sized window only to grin triumphantly. This house contained numerous gateways inside created by the shadows that obeyed him. Steadily, the demon walked towards the wall of the house and without stopping disappeared into the wisps of black smoke before reappearing inside the mansion, taking the shadow of a chair to keep as his own. Habitually, the demon clenched his well-defined jaw a few times before deciding it would be fun to explore. What he really wanted to do was find out about the girl, as she seemed to be the only one there. Pulling out the chairs shadow from his arsenal, the Arch-demon disappeared once more, keen senses searching out the woman's soul. As it seemed to be the only one worth thinking about in the house, he found it almost immediately and began to weave his way through the house over to her. It only took a few seconds for the rapid soul to move from shadow to shadow until inside her chambers, holding back snickers as he read her entry over the shoulder.

Apparently his blood tasted like vinegar. Why she wanted to know that, he didn't really know. Why his blood had a high acidity content, he didn't know. Nor did he really care. What Cain really cared about was weather anymore family members were going to show up soon. She'd talked about her brother previously...so where was he? And what could he do?

◘◘Cassandra slipped her flat shoes off aching feet, and motioned to sit in the armchair by the fire. She settled in the fabric, resting her feet on an Ottoman. Only to find, it was soaking. As was her chair! A frown deepened across her brow, until she recalled the day's earlier events. It was obvious now; her brother must have gotten water all over the chair when he was putting out flames on Victoria's shirt.

"Oh Andrew, you could have been a little more careful where you make water molecules go! Now I'll have to dry this all out!" she fumed to herself, standing upright on heavy limbs. Instead of bothering to call a servant, she concentrated enough heat from her inner fire on the chair and Ottoman to dry them. Smiling, she sat in her brother's chair, which was closest to her current position.

Inhaling deeply through her nose, she noticed a faint trace of vinegar. Ah, so Cain was following her now was he? This should be very interesting... she stood and walked over to the fire, plunging her hand into the grate. The fire licked up her skin, settling on the surface, but not burning her. She scooped up some ash in her palm, and pulled her hand out. Turning to where the smell was strongest, she lifted her palm to in front of her lips.

She blew a steady stream of air across her palm, making the dust particles swirl outwards and outline faintly Cain's smoke form. A light smile caressed her face as she turned. "You can come out now. I'm unarmed." she lied swiftly, her tone not changing and her voice not missing a beat. The perfect liar.
