Chee's heart squeezed in her chest when he told her she was special. Her stomach did funny things too in response to his voice laced with a purr, and her paws tingled with his words.

Oh my...

She didn't know what to say. She desperately wanted to ask him why he thought she was special, but Chee felt it would ruin the moment. Instead, she felt brave enough to walk closer and rub her head against his shoulder. Her yellow-green eyes met his lime green ones, then as he looked away, she smiled at his profile.

"Thank you...No-one has ever told me that. You bring out the best in me Flashpelt," she whispered.

Flashpelt looked away from Chee for a moment, blushing. Turning back to her, he tilted his head. "First for everyone today." Purring, he rubbed up against the she-cat and blinked his lime eyes. "Come on, we better get home before they start worrying." He looked directly at her, knowing that she might be the one she-cat that he has been looking for.

Chee saw him blushing for just a moment, and she thought it to be very cute.

She felt a purr rise out of her throat when she felt contact from him. His lime eyes blinked, and she nodded with his words.

"Of course. We need to get back before they think that Rogues carried us both off," she replied, meeting his unwavering gaze with her own.

She flashed him a gentle smile, before falling into perfect synched pawsteps with him to return to Riverclan. While walking, Chee thought deeply about her situation. She would have a ceremony, then maybe she would become a fully-fledged and recognised member of Riverclan and...And what about her future? Could she be accepted by a male and be asked to become his mate?

Her eyes glanced to the golden tom beside her. She was unsure though; he had already accepted her as a Clancat, even including her shameful lineage. She wasn't a proper clan member yet since she hadn't been given her Clan name by Dapplestar yet, but he looked to her as an equal and treated her with kindness and respect. But she was certain of one thing.

She was utterly smitten with Flashpelt.

Flashpelt laughed, thinking at her thought. "I don't think they will be too worried." They started heading back to camp at a slow pace, and he kept throwing a glance at Chee once and a while. 'Should I say that I like her? Or leave it to this one day thing. Or will it really continue.' Flashpelt thought to himself, wishing he could just run around with her in the forest. 'But no, you had to hurt your paw Flashpelt.'

Chee laughed too, her tail curling as she walked.

"Perhaps not; claws and fangs all the way," she said and clacked her jaws together to emphasise her point with a grin.

The walk was slow because of his injured paw, but that gave Chee more time to be with him on her own. Being with Flashpelt made her feel as though she could do anything.

I've a serious crush on him... her thoughts wandered, and she almost felt sick to her stomach when her next thought made itself known: But what if he has someone else in the Clan already...?

To try and stop herself thinking such depressing thoughts, she looked to him with pricked curious ears, striking up conversation.

"What season is your favourite, and why?" she asked kindly.

He chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. He loved her so much; she could make him laugh even when he was desperately worried about her.
"I don't think I'd be able to carry you, you're too heavy from all that salmon," he teased, humor glimmering in his eyes.
As they walked, he guided her carefully, every now and then stroking her back with his tail.

Flashpelt thought about Chee's question, and decided on his favorite season. "I would have to say greenleaf as my favorite season. Why? Because at that time the pack is well-fed and it's just the perfect season." The tom sighed, looking up at the sky, "What about you? What's your favorite?"
