.....Alex didn't much like the rudeness of Brier, it reminded him of something his father had once said, 'The outside may seem like a rose, yet the inside may be rotten and crude'. He would have given a sarcastic comment back, if it hadn't been then when the demons had chosen to show up.

He chuckled hearing Asher talk about how he might end up getting out of shape, "I doubt it Asher, you Maurier's spend incredible amounts of time training." His sword slid of of it's sheath, and Alex twitched the blade upwards to block a swipe from one of the parasites. "It's alright, I was planning on getting rid of it anyway. I might perhaps get a blue one next time." He stepped out of the way as Brier wildly swung her sword around. Impresive for a beginner, she managed to kill the demon. However the pompous girl managed to get herself cut in the process. "Asher, we'll have to make a stop past the Brightmoore mansion. Miss Larrson got herself cut. She's clearly forgotten that parasites move through wounds. She might be infected."

He turned back to Brier, wanting to call her a foolish child but refraining from doing so. "You clearly do. You're barely an adult." His voice turned into a whisper, one so quiet only Asher's heightened senses would pick it up, "Asher. She's irritating me can we take her back and exchange her for a new one?"

Asher gave Alex a light smirk. "I must agree with you, and I have heard that the Brightmoore house has a maiden as well so perhaps we may exchange ladies upon our arrival."
The parasite he fought now was a little better than the last. The problem with parasites was that they could watch and pick up moves from seeing their fellows die before them. "That's why I despise you lot."
With an upper-cut, he slashed the parasites face. With a hiss it withdrew back into the shadows, preparing for another attack.
Taking this oppurtunity, Asher examined Brier's wound. For now, it seemed alright, but that wouldn't be the case for long. Tearing off a bit of his sleeve, he wrapped the fabric around the cut, glad when the blood was still a deep crimson and not ink black. "Do not remove this bandage. It could possibly save your life, milady."
And with that he departed back to see the cut parasite stalking out of the shadows again. Giving another upper-cut, the parasite dodged. Ah, you were paying attention. Good.
Asher went to attack from the side like he did the first. With the parasite expecting the blade to reach for it's throat, it ducked. Just as Asher had hoped. With it's back exposed in the duck, Asher plunged his katana into it's back. The parasite shrieked, before collapsing. It was still breathing though, a sign of how infuriating these things were to kill.
Reaching into his pocket, he drew another match. It would be just as easy to kill it how Brier had, with the cutting of the jugular. But that was a messy business and left too much to chance that someone would find the blood. Especially another parasite. Fire was just that much easier to get rid of all the evidence.
I'll also show you a sweet dream... next night

....."Ah always with the better plan Asher." He chuckled, ducking down and sweeping the legs from underneath the parasite he was fighting. As it fell back into the shadows, tendrils of dark shadows wrapped around the parasite's flailing arms and legs, dragging it backwards to smash it against the wall. The impact sound was muffled by Alex's direction of shadows, and he made sure not to create too much noise to attract the slowly awakening citizens... Though he was pretty sure by the shrieks of Asher's parasite that they were already on the way.

The parasite slumped to the floor and Alex forced the parasite's head back by shoving a foot into it's throat and pushing it's head back, causing a strangled noise from the trapped creature. He defended his leg from getting clawed at with his sword, before he plunged the sword into the creature's throat. The creature stopped struggling almost imediately and Alex patted his pockets for matches, he had a feeling he'd left them in his coat.

"Have you a match Asher?" Just to check his was dead, since parasites were infuriating, he pushed down with his foot until he heard something crack. He looked tired after using his powers so readily, and the steadily coming sunlight wasn't helping matters. Alex's powers were over darkness, hence like a vampire, he tended to sleep during the day because sunlight made him feel weak.

Alex found there was no need for fire, he simply swung his sword through the flames of the burning parasite, and as the flames licked the inky blood that had stained his sword, he drove the sword into the stomach of the parasite he'd just killed. As he pulled his sword out again the corpse englufed in flames.

◘◘"Thank you very much, m'lady." He said with a sweeping bow. Andrew pulled her hand to his cool lips for a moment before releasing it and crossing the threshold into her bedroom. He had to duck to get through the doorway, only just avoiding squashing Victoria as he passed her by. He side-stepped along the narrow gap and perched awkwardly on the edge of her tiny bed, folding his huge frame in half. He didn't want to intimidate her, so he smiled reassuringly. He was well aware that he was the guest here, not her.

Suddenly, he became aware of her medical supplies, and looked at her injury with concern. "Are you alright? Would you like me to look at that for you?" he asked her, reaching his hands out to her. He seemed to remember who he was and dropped them into his lap, his cheeks darkening slightly.

.....Victoria had never been one for physical contact, perhaps it was something to do with her demonic background, or perhaps something else, she just never tended to do it well. So when Andrew kissed her hand she froze, only moving again once he sat down. She watched him glance around at the medical stuff she'd been in the process of sorting out, "I'm fine. A little well done perhaps... Is Lady Eventide okay?" She shied out of the way of his hands when he reached towards her. "I'll apologize to her."

She picked up the ointment she'd been about to use and pulled at the hem of her shirt, "Erm... Would you mind turning your back please?"

◘◘"Of courser m'lady." Andrew said, turning his back to her, the taut muscles straining at the seams of his velvet dinner jacket. He lifted his hands and covered his eyes with his palms for good measure, too. He had not thought of the lady's modesty, but she was right - he should not look. It was most improper for him to do so. He let his breath leave him, and only then realised he had been holding it. He hated going without his sight, but if it would make her feel more comfortable then it was a small price to pay. This woman had suffered at the hands of his sister, and, like so many others, he had to pick up the pieces left behind by her thoughtless actions.

Another breath left in an exasperated sigh, so quiet it could only be heard by his ears. He wished his sister didn't have quite the temper on her, but he knew it was a part of her she could not change. So they went round in this cycle, of her losing her temper and him stopping any potential hard feelings. She was grateful, but, though he would never admit it, he wished it would end so that he could go back to a normal life.

.....Victoria smiled faintly, "Thankyou M- Andrew." She made a note to herself to find a way to remember that. Flicking back to reality, she drew the curtain over her window and rolled up the ruined shirt. Rubbing the ointment from the medical kit into her wounds stung, and she let out a pained gasp the first time. "I'm fine..." She told Andrew, just to make sure he wouldn't turn back and take a look. It was weird that Andrew was in her room, he was a Lord, she was a servant and men never normally went into a woman's room, and with how Victoria was dressed it was even weirder. Victoria didn't really bother about decency much, but in this strange she did feel incredibly indecent and wrong.

So she hurried up with what she was doing, covering the wound with the ointment and bandaging it up quickly. She wiped her hand on her ruined shirt before ditching it completely and and grabbing a new one from one of the box shelves. She pulled the shirt on quickly, before sitting next to Andrew on the bed. "You can look now."

~ D E M O N ~
Name- Cain VanderLeff

Age- 316

Appearance-Image
Pretty much like a normal human being. The only difference is his eyes. Instead of the usual white, decorated with the coloured iris; his entire eye is a pitch black, to a point where they look like mirrors. The light shines off them in such a way, that more often than not people mistake him for weeping. He's basically an Archdemon...but a really really terrible one. Other's like himself resent him a lot, due to the fact; that he only gained the title from big boss demon, as the two are on good terms... Cain makes the all powerful guy laugh. The younger guy could've had all the powers he wanted, yet only chose to practise the art of evaporating skills. He was given the nickname 'Chess' after the Chesire cat from Lewis Carroll's; Alice in Wonderland. Partly from his evaporating skills, and partly because he creeps many a demon out.

Powers - Basically, he is a master of stealth. If Cain wasn't so darn evil, he would make a master assassin. Since he was a child, the demon was blessed with the ability to melt into shadows. At night, he is almost impossible to find, as shadows are everywhere and the ancient being can just melt into nothingness. During the daytime, back alleys are his favourite spots to hang around in, as there is always a shadow near by. Sunlight, although it makes him extremely uncomfortable, can be his best friend. For wherever there is sunlight...an object will be around to create a shadow. He mainly uses this to sneak up behind unsuspecting victims before drawing the life out of them and adding to his own. This is how the demon has managed to stay 'young' for so long. For every soul he consumes the years that soul would've lived are added to his own life. However, the demon needs to consume at least 10 souls a year in order to survive. If, on the, three hundred and sixty-fifth day he had only consumed nine souls, he would die almost instantly. It's a nice incentive from the devil to continue killing and destroying other human's lives.

Personality - He's not a nice being. Really. Some demons don't take pleasure in killing to survive, however Cain relishes every kill he makes. The feeling of consuming a soul was, and still is, euphoric. The demon enjoys every single aspect of it. One of the things he especially enjoys doing is running from the, so called; 'hunters'. So far they haven't caught him yet, but the adrenaline rush he gets, is almost as enjoyable as consuming a soul and whatnot. One of the demon's downfalls is his arrogance. He is cocky, selfish and rude to the point where more often than not; he gets himself in trouble with his elders. The demon can also be extremely oblivious to how others around himself feel, not like he cares, but his sharp tongue will get him into situations where he would've been killed. If it wasn't for his 'melting into the shadows thing' he'd probably have been killed a long, long time ago. His next downfall is that he very much so relies on his evaporation skills to get him out of trouble, meaning the demon doesn't really care who he annoys and how he does it. However, all of this running, since he was a wee lad infact, have had their affect. He is very paranoid. Always thinking that someone, or something is going to come to kill him. Causing him to be a little...jumpy. Well- incredibly jumpy. Cain is always tense, ready to disappear at the drop of a pin whenever necessary, meaning he always likes to stay in enclosed spaces. This constant feeling of paranoia has taken it's toll. In particularly stressful situations; the demon can become wrecked with headaches. And not the usual kind. Proper, proper migraines. To the point where he is immobilised and can't even call on a shadow to help him. That's when he's at his most vulnerable, and that is when he'll probably end up getting killed.

History - Cain grew up in a fairly middle class family in the fairly middle class county of Cambridgshire. But mind you; this was in the 1500's, so middle class then was probably nothing but filth compared to middle class now. But his parents didn't mind. They had a large plot of land, which they made an honest living out of. Growing plants to sell to the rest of the townsfolk in the market, and slaughtering pigs and cows for meets during the holiday season. It was paradise for the young'un. He wasn't forced to go to school, he was able to stay out as late as he wanted with friends and never worried about anything. But that didn't last for long. It was a particularly bad year for crops...the soil barely had enough nutrients to sustain much plant life, and there hadn't been any rain that year at all. All the other farmer's had up sticks and moved to the North in hopes for some better weather. But not Cain's father it seemed. For some reason their small plot of land was teeming with plant life, even the animals seemed healthier than normal. How had this happened? It seemed his parents had both sacrificed their only child in a deal with the demon to continue living where they were. One evening Cain went to bed, just as normal...the next- he woke up in a place worse than hell itself. Well- it could've been hell for all the young guy knew. After that, well...He was tormented and laughed at until he became numb from any emotion, except stress, and manic hysteria. All the things one would want from a particularly effective demon.

Weapon - Other than evaporating? Mostly the demon relies on his fists to do any fighting. His skeleton has been re-enforced to make it hurt more when receiving a punch, and to make it harder for you to successfully kill him, but other than that the demon relies on his legs. To do the running. And his mouth to dish out the emotional pain.

Plans - Stay alive for as long as possible. Meaning he has to kill and consume many souls. But that's okay. One of the things he's really looking for, like most demons; is that one pure soul. If he can find a pure soul, that hasn't been tainted in the slightest well- who knows how long that will sustain him...?

Other - Nope c:

((Thanks!))

Name: Cain II Location: Bell Tower II Mood: Disturbed

The cries and squeals of his brothers filled the otherwise silent night like a glorious symphony. The sounds of last breaths in this realm, were like music to the archdemon's ears, causing the being to grin widely, pointed teeth jutting out ever-so-slightly from behind rosy lips. First the wide smile was just about visible to the human eye, suddenly the silhouette of a head framed it, before a slouching body followed. For a moment, the manic smile was suspended in the air, as it observed the scene below, before it suddenly moved forwards an inch or so. Out of the darkness followed by a few wisps of smoke; one could just about make out the relaxed posture of the ancient demon, hands in pockets casually smirking down at the scene below. It was fun to see some form of slaughter now and again, even of those involved were his own kind. Well- those parasite types were not his kind. They were filthy disgusting things, that a demon of his blood would wipe from the bottom of your shoe. If anything the powerful demon was glad to see them go.

Idly, he tapped the gargantuan bell hanging next to him out of habit, as he continued to watch; entranced as the demon hunters managed to kill every single one of them. "Tch...weaklings" He snorted out, with disgust eyeing a woman who began to burn the bodies. However, his show was cut short as he sensed another soul nearby. A living one at that. Saliva began to vastly fill his mouth at an unbearable rate, as his chest ached for some sustenance. Wide grin, managing to widen further, to the point where his lips began to split, the demon made a beeline for the winding staircase, before looking through the banisters and down to the ground floor. It was a young man. Mid twenty's perhaps. Perfect. Chuckling darkly to himself, the demon evaporated into the shadows instantly. For a brief moment, his vision changed. And for a moment, he could see everything. He was a bird, flying over all of London, being able to pick anywhere to land. Fortunately, it was close..just down a couple flights of stairs. Cain was just lazy. The young man didn't know what hit him. One moment he was standing, examining a bible...and the next; a hand covered his face, blinding him. He was leaking. Leaking what exactly? All the young man could feel was something slipping out from him. And all Cain could feel was; energy being restored to him as the man's would be living years were added to his own. Dropping the corpse to the ground, Cain inhaled in satisfaction before strolling out of the church and headed over to where the battle had previously been. Even though he despised those parasites; it was only polite to pay some kind of respect.
