((Right, I shall be starting then.))

• lord aleхander laιrѕeѕ •
.....Alexander, known to friends and family as Alex, was racing down a stone corridor. Alex had his crossbow in hand, and both he and crossbow were covered in a dark blue inky blood. Lovely. He spun around to run backwards - to check on the enemy.

There were four of them. They used to be human, but now, dressed in hospital gowns with slumping shoulders and slouching posture - Alex knew that these were not humans and infact parasites. The four figures were unnaturally fast, and were covered in black scars, crudely stitched up with thick black thread. Their eyes were voids of black. The four humans had been taken over by a lovely monster called a parasite. Basically a smoke-like monster, that crawls into wounds of dying humans and takes root in their brains... Each time the ex-humans stepped into a ray of sunlight from the open windows, it was possible to see through their near transparent skin to see the ink black veins.

"Open open open!" Alex grabbed the handle of the door in front of him and stepped out into fresh countryside air. He slammed the door shut and slipped a crossbow bolt between the door handles to keep it closed. He then carried on the mad dash, sprinting further down the hillside, and ducking behind a stone wall as the abandoned building he'd just run out of exploded. He sat there coughing for a few minutes as dust blew about in the wind and then stood up. "Well, that solved that..."

He’d filled the kitchens in the bottom of the house with gas and set a fire in the room next door, when the fire has burnt through the wooden door, kaboom.

He choked up some more dust before getting to his feet and making his way to the horse tied to the tree at the bottom of the hill. It was early morning and if he was lucky enough he’d manage to get to the Larrson mansion before he was spotted by the public. It was the closest mansion to where he was, and he was covered in dirt, mud and blood. The five families got on well enough that they probably wouldn’t mind it if he showed up there.

It didn’t take too long to get there and he knocked on the door before hiding back in the shadows of the porch as someone walked past.

.....Victoria frowned slightly, clasping her hands in her back and tilting her head to the side. She was bored, had been for a while now. She was stood in the corridor near the front door to the Eventide mansion, waiting. She was a bodyguard and therefore had to stay where she’d been told to, though now she was incredibly bored of the quiet room and was thinking up a good reason to leave her post and go raid the kitchen. Her amber eyes quickly scanned the hallway again and a soft sigh left her throat before she returned to her normal statue like position.

Today, Victoria was wearing men’s clothes once again. A starched white shirt and black breeches, she didn’t really care much about how indecent it was for women to show that much skin. Of course, being Victoria, she was barefoot. Her neck was the only thing she had really bothered to cover, the five silver symbols tended to stand out as unnatural so she’d covered them with a scarf. She’d tied her hair back out of her face, and left only part of her fringe down to cover the long hideous scar that spanned across her left cheek – a sore subject.

Her eyes scanned the corridor once again, and she tapped her fingers against the back of her hand impatiently, how long had she been there? An hour perhaps, she glanced at the clock stood in the corner to check this. Well, perhaps not an hour, but ten minutes was definitely too long. For the hint of a second, Victoria’s eyes turned into voids of black, a sign of impatience from her demonic side.

A flicker of a grin made its way onto Victoria’s face; she had found a way to amuse herself. She leant across to the catch on the door and flicked it open. Then she did the thing least expected of her, she jumped out of the window behind her. Her record for this stupidity was back through the door in twelve seconds flat. Today she hit eleven seconds and shut the door quietly as she slipped back inside. She didn’t really care about the leaves in her hair, though she made sure to get them out to hide what she’d been up to.

• lαdч rєвєccα вríghtmσσrє •
.....Lady Rebecca Brightmoore is the perfect example of a lady; gentle, kind, calm and beautiful. She even refuses to fight with the five families against demons, claiming it’s immoral and wrong. Unlike Victoria Maurier, Rebecca dresses like a lady too, with the correct under dresses, overdresses and petticoats. She even wears shoes like a normal person and has no habit of jumping out of windows.

With a groggy yawn, she stretched and clambered out of bed, before heading over to the bell pull and ringing for a maid. After all, a Lady doesn’t even bother to dress herself; she has servants for that purpose. Victoria would counter that at least she had the capability to put on a shirt if she heard about such sloth like lifestyle. A maid walked through the door after a few moments, and curtsied when she was asked to help with Rebecca getting dressed.

Over a quarter of an hour later, Rebecca was stood in a soft cornflower blue silk dress and was considering jewellery choices. After the maid walked out however she crossed to her dresser and took a holster and a short white pole from the drawer. The pole slipped into the sheath, and then got strapped to her leg. It was her weapon against demons. It lengthened into a meter and a half long staff when she wanted it to. Of course she wasn’t very skilled in using it, quite the opposite in fact.

With a soft ladylike sigh she made her way downstairs to the sitting room, “Will we be expecting any guests today?” She asked a maid.

“No m’Lady, no one has requested to come as of yet.”

Brier eyed the lizard scuttling across the cobblestone alleyway and flung her dagger at it. She cursed as the lizard zipped under into the foundation of the house, unharmed. Brier stuck the blade back into her waistband and opened the backdoor of the mansion. "Cook? Would you be a dear and give me a cookie?' She knew the lady had been baking earlier, and Brier considered Cook to be the chef around. "Cook?' There was no reply and, when Brier didn't see hide or hair of the woman, she helped herself to the cookies on a platter.
Then she went to search for her. Cook was in the dining room with Brier's father and a lady (she was obviously a lady, judging by her dress) that Brier had never seen before. "Oh! I'm sorry, I'll just be going!" Then she ran from the room.
But not before she saw the adoring look that her father had been giving the lady. Brier could barely hold back the flood of questions that came to her mind as she ran to her bedroom. There was one question in particular that she refused to let herself think until it became so demanding for attention that it blocked out all of Brier's other thoughts. "Is he courting her?"

◘◘Lady Cassandra Eventide was in a rage. Her best silk dress was ruined. And it was all the fault of her stupid temper. It was lucky that her brother Andrew had been there to stop the licking flames from causing any more damage, but still it was enough to be irreparable. She lifted the light purple dress and studied the damage.

There was a large hole in the stomach of the bodice, with frayed, blackened edges. Upon further inspection she could see that the fire had burned a path down the back of the bodice too; completely destroying the ties. It was a terrible shame - she had been looking forward to wearing it.

As usual, she was dressed simply, yet elegantly, in a blue summer dress that clung to her curves and then fell in a shimmering waterfall to her knees. She wore stockings underneath, for the sake of modesty, although she actually thought they were itchy and horrible. She sighed and turned to said brother, her delicate features set into a frown.

"It's completely ruined. Destroyed. I shall have to find another dress for the tea party now, Andrew." she said, disapproval colouring her musical voice. Her eyes were large and sorrowful, the dark iris' gleaming with slight tears. A dramatic change from a moment before; there had been flames dancing in her eyes then.

◘◘Andrew couldn't suppress a chuckle at his sister's annoyed tone, so trademark of her. He leaned lightly on his cane, feeling drained. The water he had used to put out the fire had taken it's toll on his energy levels, and he felt light-headed. He crossed the room to a chair on shaky legs, and sank into the dark upholstery. He closed his eyes for a moment and almost sighed with pleasure as his sister laid her hand on his forehead. He felt cold, and her heated skin felt wonderfully warming. She still had fire in her system yet.

He reached up and clasped her hand in both of his, opening his eyes to smile into her concerned face. The two were very close, using their powers together made them even closer. Her shock of dark auburn hair was currently pulled back into an intricate knot, and he reached up to rub a lock of it between his fingers.

"Mum and Dad used to hate this. They called you devil spawn." he said softly, his voice laced with regret. e smiled slightly at his sister's light shrug, then leaned back once more, recollecting his strength. He was built powerfully, his broad shoulders not hidden by his waistcoat and jacket. His sword was strapped to it's place on his hip; he was hardly ever seen without it. It contained essential water, the fuel of his power.

However, he heard the sound of something skittering at the back of the house, across the cobbles, and quickly slipped down there before knocking on the open backdoor.

He slipped inside, and looked around, hearing the sounds of a commotion further in the household. "Hello!-" He called out, staying by the backdoor.

.....Victoria pulled another leaf from her hair and then frowned, raising her face towards the ceiling. Smoke. Within seconds the bodyguard was racing up the stairs, after pulling her swords free from underneath the chaise lounge in the hallway. She raced up the stairs a sword in each hand.

She expected it to be Cassandra that had been the root of the problem, yet there was no harm in checking after all it might be something else. If she didn't check, if she didn't make sure, she wouldn't be doing her job.

It didn't take long for her to make it to the top of the stairs and down the hallway. She pushed the door open to find the siblings seemed to be pretty well and fine. "Sorry- I smelt smoke." She slipped back outside after noting that the brother and sister seemed to be having a sentimental moment.

She slipped her swords into sheathes on her waist before shutting the door and knocking on it, like she should've done in the first place.

|Brier sighed and went backstairs for more cookies. There was someone by the back door, covered in demon blood. "Ohmigoodness, are you alright?" she rushed to his side, snagging a cookie as she walked past them."Why are you covered in demon blood?" she took a bite of a cookie, then remembered her manners. "Would you like a cookie?"

~ M A U R I E R ~
Name- Asher Maurier
Nicknames- Ash
Age- 18
Appearance- Image
Employment- He works for the Lairses family.
Personality- He is quiet and enjoys to get his work done quickly and efficiently. He is a loner and prefers to be by himself. Still, he is extremely devoted to his employers and will do anything to keep in their good graces. At least that's how it appears. He doesn't really care what will happen to his employers in the end, but knows that they employ him because of the demons and that's good enough for him. He has a gentle side that has long been buried since he was young and first started his hunt for the demons. He never smiles, for he has forgotten how.
History- His parents were killed while hunting down a group of demons. He was taken in by his uncle but he felt no family ties to him. He eventually left his uncles care at the age of 13 and his uncle was content to see him go. He has lived alone ever since, never forgetting the night of his parent's death, ready and waiting to kill the demons if he ever finds them again.
Weapon- He has a katana sword that was his father's before him. It is engraved by each generation that holds it so many names have been forever written into the blade. It was said that this allowed the souls to stay attached to the sword and allowed the souls to give the new bearer strength in battle.
Interesting Fact- He is actually a lover of music and can play many different instruments. His favorite, however, is the violin. He has his own stashed in his one room apartment and is very rare to see it, let alone witness him play. Music calms him, but only if it is classical. All other genres of music make him squirm.
Other- He has a a pair of twin scars across his shoulder blades that he keeps hidden. They were given to him by the demons that killed his parents. He finds it shameful that a demon managed to harm him so badly and thinks others will find him weak because of them.

◘◘Cassandra let out a rich peal of laughter at the servant's antics, pulling away from her close position to her brother. Her mouth lifted up into a delighted smile, and she folded her hands demurely across her stomach. She smoothed her gown before calling out "You can come in." in a playful tone of voice.

Despite being a 'lady', she still retained some of her childish, playful antics, and the servant's actions simply made her forget all about her bad mood. "I'm sorry about the dress, I had an accident. I hope you understand. Luckily my brother stopped anything from escalating into disaster!"

Re: - { Victorian Era of Demon Hunters } - {Literate}

Asher walked up to the gates of the Larrson mansion. Looking through the dark metal of the gate, he could barely see Alex as he moved around to the back of the house. Sighing, Asher pushed through the gate, glad of the silence it gave, and continued on into Larrson territory.
Alex was one of his "masters" and he had been charged to protect anyone that left the Lairses estate, so here he was. Whoop dee doo, he thought, glaring as the sun hit his eyes. It was trouble enough to take care of a child, but a grown person could think of things so much more deadly and dangerous to do. Asher felt like a babysitter with this family. Ha, if only it were that easy!
Coming to the front of the house, he saw Alex's footprints as they coasted around the side of the house and proceeded all the way to the back. Digging his hands into his pockets, he followed after. And that's when he heard it too. The light scratching sound. Eerily familiar.
Drawing his blade from the sheath that hung at his side, Asher clung to the side of the house, footsteps light and quick on the grass. Once at the back of the house, he glanced around the corner to find Alex in the doorway to the backdoor.
Gritting his teeth, Asher have a quiet "Psst!" to Alex, katana steady in his hands and low to the ground, ready to slice up at the slightest movement beyond the darkness of the door.

(Should Asher call Alex and any other member of the Lairses family Master or Mistress or something like that since he serves them? Just wondering.)
I'll also show you a sweet dream... next night
