- {It's the year 1850, the rich and famous families of Victorian London are always in the spotlight of fashions and style - the high point of London gossip. However, these families are incredibly secretive, and powerful at the same time. The five of the richest, most powerful and most influential families; Eventide, Lairses, Maurier, Larrson and Brightmoore, are actually hiding a secret from the population of London. Each of the families originate from angels, as the years have gone on, the angelic blood in each generation has grown weaker, but it brings powers with it nonetheless.
....In the dark of the night, demons roam the streets and alleyways of London. The five families protect the citizens of London from these demons.
....In the Victorian Era there was an extreme boundary between rich and poor. Homeless people who died on the street would simply be left there, there would be dead bodies rotting in the streets. The rich would ignore all the dirt and dead bodies. Piles of rubbish collected on the streets, no one would clear it away. The streets would literally stink.
The docks were busy and popular during the Victorian Era, there were usually hundreds of boats in the river, and people threw dead bodies in the river too. The docks were where the most money was made. The rich would definitely make sure it was known they were rich with huge dresses, hats and jewellery.

...The Eventide family is the richest family in London other than the royal family. They are mainly made up of Lords and Ladies. They work very closely with the royal family as advisers. The Eventide family are quite a large family as well, living in three mansions in the direct center of the city.
The Eventide family draw their powers from the four elements, and have a weak aptitude over one of the elements. Their control over their chosen element depends deeply on their energy levels and how much or how little they have trained in their element. Their family is prone to power fluctuations when they are having a very powerful set of emotions. For example, when they feel angry they loose a bit of control over powers.
They are all marked by oddly colored hair or eyes, usually from their chosen element. For example, bright blue eyes for a water follower.

- { L A I R S E S
...The Lairses family is a rather country based family, they live on the outskirts of London in a group of rather large country mansions. They are a rather wealthy but not particularly large family. They are well known since one of the daughters from the family recently married into the royal family.
The Lairses family draw their powers from the moon and sun, and have a weak aptitude over either light or dark. Their control over the light or dark isn't chosen by them but decided for them by their parents. There is a rare amount of light followers since demons hunt in the dark. Their family is prone to being more powerful in the daytime if they follow light, and the nighttime if they follow the dark. The light and dark have no say in their personality.
They are all marked by a strange birthmark or scar, usually something associated with the sun or the moon. For example a sunset for a darkness follower.

- { M A U R I E R
...The Maurier family, is the most secretive family, most believe they are dealing in the 'darker side of life' and they seem to get in trouble with the police more than a lot. They are incredibly wealthy and there is speculation towards the origin of such wealth. They are situated in the direct center of London though don't always tend to live in posh housing. There is Thorndale house, the mansion that is owned by the Maurier family, but most members of this family do tend to live in other places including the slums - not because they are poor but because they are always watching for demons.
The Maurier family have incredibly heightened senses and muscles, the ability to preform stunts that no other family could master. They are incredibly skilled in martial arts, a skill that is their power and not taught. The Maurier family are the guard dogs of the underworld, and are more skilled as assassins and guards. They are employed in other households as bodyguards because of this skill.
They are all marked by a series of strange script, five silver symbols in a line that can be placed anywhere on the body, the most common places are across a wrist or across the back.

- { L A R R S O N
...The Larrson family is the smallest, with barely twenty members to it, they are well associated Lords and Ladies however, well known for charity work. They are well known by almost everyone and have deep ties with the royal family.
They have telepathic powers that in rare cases extend to telekinesis and mind control. They grow more powerful when less of the family are alive and usually have family feuds due to them trying to kill each other for more power. In fights they have the ability to read what the enemies move will be before the enemy makes it and most are well trained with weapons and are hard to beat.
They are usually marked by oddly colored eyes, for example violet or red. They can easily be mistaken for one of the Eventide family.

- { B R I G H T M O O R E
...The Brightmoore family is actually a branch of the royal family itself, and therefore they have an incredible amount of wealth and popularity among the public. They generally have to hide themselves a lot better than the other families since if they are spotted killing demons late at night it will be all over the papers the next day.
They have the ability to heal which is not as easy as it looks. They have to be very clear about what they are healing and sometimes have to fight against the emotions of the person they are healing if they panic. Once in a while a Brightmoore member will gain the ability to prophesise the future in their dreams or a dreamlike state and are refereed to as Seers. In rare cases others may gain the ability to affect the natural electric currents in a persons body and use this to create a shock. Rarer still is the ability to un-heal, a Brightmoore member may find they have the ability to reopen old wounds and can cause a lot of damage.
They are marked mainly by an inky black tattoo that can come in pretty much any shape.

...-'The four figures were unnaturally fast, and were covered in black scars, crudely stitched up with thick black thread. Their eyes were voids of black. The four humans had been taken over by a lovely monster called a parasite. Basically a smoke-like monster, that crawls into wounds of dying humans and takes root in their brains... Each time the ex-humans stepped into a ray of sunlight from the open windows, it was possible to see through their near transparent skin to see the ink black veins. They move from host to host by wounds. If you're unlucky enough to cut yourself on a talon, head to the Brightmoore's as fast as possible.'

...-'A ghost, was once a living being who died in horrible circumstances and wants revenge. However, they don't always know how they died and tend to take out vengence on anyone they see. They have the ability to possess people and usually do so. They simply inhabit a body, and then they can control that person as much as they wish. Their presence makes an area colder, and they can use whoever's powers they have possessed.'

...-'Silhouettes are the rather accidental creation of the Lairses family. When a Lairses whose affiliation is for the darker side of things falls asleep and has nightmares, these nightmares sometimes take root through the Lairses's powers in shadows. The nightmare becomes a swirling black mass of shadows and anyone who unfortunatly walks into one will end up falling asleep and reliving the nightmare of the creator. They are generally defeated by light, and the Maurier bodyguards tend to have to watch their charges as they sleep in case a Silhouette forms. '

...-'A rather strange being, with green or blue skin and purple eyes. They are born solely as warriors, and cause imense trouble when in large packs. They are skilled in the magic of energy and have the ability to affect presure points by delivering shocks of energy to them. '

...-'More commonly known as destructive demons, there are only six Fawkes demons. They used to be part of the Eventide family until the six of them were captured by an arch demon and cursed. They tend to travel in pairs, and have dark voids of black in place of eyes.'

...-'A Drey being is a rather pesky irritating pest. About the size of a thumb, they have wings, and are incredibly fast. They aren't lethal unless you can be annoyed to death, they are just really irritating. They like to sneak into the houses of demon hunters and trash the place, hiding valuables, messing up hair, pulling rugs so people trip, making food taste bad, tying shoelaces together, ripping curtains, making canopys of beds fall down... They are just really irritating and have to be caught in a jar and then thrown in a river. They travel in packs and hide within wood work.'

...-'Humanoid beings that seem to be made of an inky black sludge. They move slow, are unintelligent but take many hits. Easily destroyed by water. Weapons sink into them, and they are sticky so don't touch them.'

They aren't intelligent though and are normally used in groups as a distraction since they go after one thing, hunter flesh. Your hunter version of a zombie.'

...-'A rather powerful being that focuses on destroying any of the Maurier familiy, they like to destroy the Maruier family because they see them as a challenge that must be beaten. To Ire, a Maurier is a challenge, and Ire must prove they are the best. Ire is an unknown demon, probably an arch demon, with orange skin, purple claws and immortality.'

Appearance-
Alexander has a very tall stature, he is also rather skinny, yet not in an unhealthy fashion. His features are so prominent that they cause heavy shadows to fall across his face. He’s got blonde-brown hair that sometimes looks red in certain lights; his odd colored hair has originated from his Eventide mother. His eyes are deep oceanic blue, inherited again from his Eventide mother. He has rather oddly pointed ears, though he hides them under his hair while out in public. His strange birthmark is on the back of his neck, a circular series of the stages of the moon. The mark is dark grey normally, and light blue when using his powers. He has a few scars up and down his arms from previous fights with demons.
He prefers to dress much like a noble would, in crisp starched shirts and dark ties and waistcoats. He has something against wearing jackets; they irritate him because they restrict movement. He wears a long trench coat while walking about the streets though, since he doesn’t much like the cold.
Light or Dark-
Dark - He can control shadows to the point he can actually become one. His limit hits pretty quickly if he uses his powers a lot, though he doesn't tend to use them that much.
Personality-
He has an ability to talk his way both into and out of trouble, and loves sarcasm and irony. He acts casual in pretty much any situation, and jokes about with pretty much anything he can. He is sometimes considered a bit of a flirt through this, though he’s not really flirting it just comes across that way.
He has a rather convincing way of speaking, and backs up almost everything he says with logic. His intelligence is generally highly valued since he has the ability to look at everything in a situation before acting. He notices things that most people don’t and always tries to let others work something out for themselves rather than simply telling them what to do.
He has a calming personality, and has the ability to not only act calm but to calm others around him too. He doesn’t get on well with people who panic; it’s incredibly difficult for him to do so.
History-
It was thought when he was born that he would be one of the Eventides, though as his powers developed, it became clear that he was in fact a Lairses.
Working on history.
Weapon-
Alex fights with a sword, usually hidden inside a sheath under his coat. The sword has no known magical properties.
Interesting Fact-
He has the occasional habit of dressing like a working class person so he can go out hunting for information.

Vicky though this isn't a very well appreciated nickname and she tend to ignore those who call her by it.

Appearance-
Victoria is a very tall girl though this is usually hidden since she has a habit of slouching. She's skinny but well trained as a warrior, she's been fighting for a long long time ever since she was younger she has been constantly training. She's got midnight black hair that reaches the base of her back, it winds her up when her hair gets in her face but she hasn't the heart to cut it so she ties it back out of her way. She's got light amber eyes that seem to hold a sense of reality and pain in them. Her pale skin is latticed with a series of scars and wounds. There's a pretty big wound across her left cheek usually hidden by her hair - it's a sore subject and not recommended to be bought up. She is marked by five symbols of silvery script that runs around her neck though she makes an effort to cover it up with high collars and scarfs. She tends to dress like a man, since she has a hatred of skirts and dresses. She's incredibly good at disguises and can infiltrate almost anywhere because of this.
Employment-
Employed in the Eventide house as a bodyguard.
Personality-
Victoria’s personality is rather interesting and mostly misunderstood. Sometimes it’s like she wants to believe that she’s evil, just so she can say she fits in somewhere. She’s always striving to become what she’s not, and attempting to set a good example to get more people to accept her – yet these attempts usually fail pretty easily. She puts up a front that seems to say I don’t want to belong to anywhere, but deep down, she needs a place to fit in because it keeps her stable.
Her mental state is debatable, and sometimes she gets over run by emotions that she works so hard on suppressing. Usually, it’s only things such as medical situations that sets off her fear and infirmaries make her agitated but that’s normally the extent of emotion she shows that sets her in a weaker light.
Her friends list is short but she seems to have the gift of reading people like open books, and not many people betray her. She does have a very huge amount of fight in her; she never gives up, and always carries on fighting 'until the very end'. When Victoria does give up, it's easy to see that it's practically hopeless and that there's no chance of rescue.
She doesn’t believe there’s such thing as a straight line between good and evil, or demon and human. She tries to see if there is good in someone before she swings her blade. However, she sometimes ignores this, and pushes herself towards the human side of things and when angry she kills any demon she can.
Unless she's really riled up about something she doesn't tend to argue, she simply takes the criticism and ignores it. Unless she deems it important, whatever she's told is generally forgotten.
She does work incredibly hard to follow orders however, and tends to stay in the shadows behind those she protects. She puts her life on the line for her friends.
History-
When she was younger, she was kidnapped by a group of demons. She was trained to be an assassin for these demons and the aim was to train her up to kill members of the five families. She became an assassin who killed the five families at the age of eleven and her first assignment was her own family. She killed her own two brothers and was highly sought after by demons and on the criminal list for the demon hunters. She is known by most demons and hunters by the name of ‘Vengeance’ and most people want to kill her for killing their family members.
However at the age of fifteen she was recaptured by the five families and forced to listen to how she'd been kidnapped by demons in the first place. Over a three year period she was retrained, and entered the Eventide household as a bodyguard as a way to repent.
Weapon-
Twin blades that are the length of a forearm. She's very skilled in their use. They seem to light up with a variety of runes at her touch, though no one knows exactly what this does. They are normally in sheathes on her back. She can however use many different types of weapon, and they are hidden about the Eventide household in case of emergency.
Interesting Fact-
She's got a little bit of demon blood in her system as well as the angelic blood. This is from a fight long ago, and not many people know about it.

Appearance-
Rebecca has rather gentle features that you'd place on a doll. She's very short for her age and slender. Most people do relate her to a doll, always dressing in the nicest silks and fashions of London. She has thin fair hair that curls softly and reaches about halfway down her back. She has mismatched eyes, one green and one red. The red is a curse from a demon though very few people know about it.
Seer, electric or un-healer? -
Seer - she is a beginner at being a Seer though hasn't yet managed to force a vision they come in her sleep usually disguised as dreams and nightmares.
Personality-
She's not much of a fighter, relying on the Maurier family for this. She's a pacifist, though she will fight when necessary. She's gentle and calm, and always acts out of kindness rather than hatred. Because of the calmness and gentleness of the way she looks, she’s always been forced into acting calm and gentle and to work on her intelligence. This has let her build up incredible patience levels and gives her the ability to sympathise with those who deserve it.
However, learning to become a demon hunter at the age of thirteen let her step away from the boundaries her parents put up on her personality and she’s now able to act how she likes.
She’s never lost certain aspects of the personality that was forced on her; she upholds a calm manner in most situations and is able to sympathize with people. Her intelligence lets her analyze situations, and think about the ideas she has. But now she’s also has a fighting spirit that drives her to succeed in everything she can. She's therefore rather outspoken and makes sure her opinion is known.
When she gets mad, which doesn’t happen often, she gets really mad. She holds grudges for ages and has trouble backing down.
She tends to be rather clumsy, and has the habit of making a situation worse for herself before anyone has the chance to make it better.
History-

Weapon-
She doesn't usually fight, though when forced to, she has a meter long staff that she uses to do so.The staff has the ability to shrink down from it's usual meter and a half to about 6in" which is much easier to carry around in a sheath on her leg hidden out of the way under her skirts.

Nicknames- Bri
Age- 15
Appearance- Short and thin. Bri has black hair that nearly reaches her waist and dark purple eyes.a a small circle tattoo on the inside of her left wrist.
Telekinesis or Mind control?- Telekinesis
Personality- Brier is shy. She does not like to talk much to people she doesn't know well, but she never shuts up when she's around her friends. Brier is very stubborn and never gives up. She also never asks for help, which has gotten her into more situations than she cares to admit. She is very sarcastic when she's nervous, and tends to carry on lengthy and sometimes odd conversations with her pet rat. (No, he doesn't talk back, you ninny.) Has the bad habit of saying whatever is on her mind and laughing at her own thoughts. Usually at the worst possible moments.
History- Lived with her American mother in Boston until she was thirteen. Brier didn't know a thing about who her father was or that demons even existed until her mother died and she was sent to live with her father, Lord Severin Larrson. She is determined to be the best demon hunter of the century and is working steadily towards that goal.
Weapon- A long silver sword or the small dagger that she keeps tucked in the waistband of her dress.
Interesting Fact- Brier's birthmark is shaped like the infinity symbol. She likes to eat pickles with peanut butter.
Other- She has a pet rat named Fred. She found him hiding in her wardrobe when she moved into Lord Severin's house and kept him. Fred is her closest friend.
