Ari wasn’t like the other suckers who were in the house with her. She was raised on the classic horror movies and the original Dracula stories. Sure she was scared when she thought she saw a picture of herself and then the head creeper ghost had to come and spook here yet again. As she walked down the hallway, Ari kept one hand on the wall since the halls were dark but then again every now and then there would be a flickering light.

"Groping in the dark around here doesn't really do anything. We can change what you see and where you go regardless." Evelyn said, she was right in front of the girl(Ari) but her voice sounded almost as if she was whispering in her ear. She wore a long dress that trailed behind her. It was the color of drying blood. Taking a deep breath, Ari turned around and became face to face with yet another ghost. Pressing her lips tightly together trying her best to hold back any noise that could be recognized as weakness; the color in her face was long ago drained. Looking at the newest ghost to show themselves to her, Ari was tickled with a sort of creepy sense of belonging.

Slowly Ari dipped into a curtsey to the ghost and was surprised that the ghost returned the formal greeting.

Evelyn's full red lips spread into a cruel smile as she met the girl's wavering gaze. The formal greeting came as a habit from her era, yet she was a bit surprised to see it from a guest. The girl looked pale and brutally terrified, though obviously trying to hide it. This amused her even more. "WHy is it you think hiding will help you in any way?" she asked, though the answer was always the same.

“Why give you the joy of hearing me scream in fright?” Ari shot back to the ghost. Placing her hands on her hips and glaring at the ghost, Ari gathered herself.

"Don't oversell yourself kid, you're just a toy to us and as soon as you break we'll get a new one without giving you another thought. The "joy" of a scream is more like minimal amusement at best." Evelyn replied drily

“Then why steal us from our lives?” Ari shot back in a huff.

"Because we get bored, you're here simply because curiousity and bad timing is your curse." Evelyn shrugged fading into the shadows and reappearing across the room, her dress had grown short and now fell to her knees rather than her ankles. She leaned against a wall and watched the girl quietly.
