Her great grandfather was a general in the rebellion against the Capitol, an 'assassin' when it came to the war, yet during this time Hollie's family lived in the wild mountains for protection, but came back to district twelve once the war was over. The general was stationed on the frontline and destoryed many pods so inforcements could get through to the Capitol. All of his efforts where futile, as the Capitol won the war. Her father was a previous hunger games victor, so Hollie was trained like a career ever since she was born. She was taught all the tactics, trained until unconsciousness, and her mother taught her about herbs and healing plants, a well as healing tips and strategies. She was also trained by her father how to find shelter and how to stay hidden, and she was to learn how to fish the day he died when a large tree fell on him in the orchards. Hollie's father always wanted a son, but he did not have any. Hollie was trained like any career and got the nickname, ''Nails'' from being "as hard as nails".

His face could be described simply as jaunt, not plain, angular, alike the rest of his features. His semblant is usually composed, although his facial expressions vary from moment to moment, becoming the bubbling laughter in an akward situation or the ice-cold personality in a warm moment. He has thin, defined lips, and high, full chekbones, gaining a dimple to his right side when smiling. He has straight, white teeth, and a nerve-inspiring smile; his eyes usually reflecting his thoughts on the situation - ie. he may seem composed yet maintain sparkling eyes or smile warmly with nothing but hatred in them - in their unnerving, misguiding way. He has long blonde eyelashes with similar, un-crowded yet unkempt eyebrows that frame his strange eyes; a pair of dim, unnequal gems coloured in turqoise and cloudy-sky blue. However, this difference is minimal from afar and can only be noticed from three or four - at most - metres away.

His stance is complicated in the way that he carries himself in a nochalant manner most of the time with a hint of cockyness and strength, which makes him stand out as he seems to look bored but usually isn't, planning some sort of strife or raid, whatnot. However, he can become rigid in a manner of seconds, neat, poised, elegant, but still keep his hands in his pockets and smile silkily to his opponnent. This boy is a two-face, and he isn't that afraid to hide it, rather displaying it subtly as to confuse others on his direction in thought by raising his tone while remaining calm or making his posture aggressive while smiling inocently.

His voice is like silver; solid and spiked when dangerous, silky and flowingly liquid when deceptive and basically non-existant, gaseous, when stunned for words, which is not often. His voice might be considered irritating by some, but it is actually quite attractive and unusual in the way that it changes state more often than not. It is usually found profaning jibes, especially when fighting an enemy, but can learn to be silent when needed. He just finds it fun to make people angry; it makes them more prone to make mistakes. .

[ p e r s o n a l i t y ]James can easily be described as the two-sided coin gilded in gold or wrought in iron. He lives close to bipolar, but is not psychotic enough to achieve that level. One moment, he can be the nicest guy you met, the next, he might be taunting you or mocking in some sort of way or another, but he subtly manages these changes of humour so they progress slowly and are not jumps so sudden that people are taken aback so strongly.

James has a strong yet sly personality; he sticks to his beliefs but enshrouds them in a web of slick and occasional lies or dismissal of facts, making him the rather complex character when it comes to dealing with, as it is hard to imagine what one might expect of him one moment or another. He enjoys the use of wit, sarcasm and humour, usually to the expense of others but never his own, and acts nochalant when accused, which is most of the time. He is strangely sociable, yet others usually shy from his prescence as he is mocking and, at times, injust. However, he is rather the interesting character, and he knows so himself, making him hold an air of cockyness usually despised by so many. He doesn't mind spending time alone, yet he prefers human company, as he is usually exiled into solace because of his strange social antics.

He has always aspired for leadership, yet he has never touched the bottom of it because of his unreliable personality; if he were more reliable and less 'rogue', he could probably be described as one of the best tributes there was. He always sticks to his target, if deviating slightly sometimes from how it is meant to be reached, and always managed to come back successfull, in some manner or another. So, he envies those in charge and tends to not listen to them when on group patrols, making him a dreaded member of 'work' society. He always carries out his task , someway or another, but refuses to acknowledge any other's power over him - making him a slight hypocrite, as he dreams of directing a group of members someday.

He holds respect to little to no-one, that small sliver left reserved only for those who manage to ignore his japes and stand up against him in a non-aggressive, non-reactive manner. It is only then when he begins to become a more 'normal' person, holding more stable conversations and beggining to be able to acknowledge other's points of view and beliefs, thoughts and opinions. He thinks little of those who succumb to his humour, but does not hold grudges for too long, rather beign a 'forgive but not forget' kind of person.

Romantically, James is confusing. He plays it cocky, but is rather the sweet and humble guy once he is pulled down from the 7th Heaven he believes is righteously his. He doesn't demonstrate any clear advances towards his 'crush', yet he favours her in strange ways. He becomes less 'godly', loosing his sharp humour and becoming... nice, even. He is less snarky, and much nicer, achieving a dreamy status that is noted by most as he becomes distracted by his infatuation.

James enjoys fighting, one on one combat and close combat, te late in which he excells. However, he is relatively bad at long-range, bit he makes up with his excelling ability with a Trident, spears and nets, along with fishing hooks. Nevertheless, he is quite the sexy tribute, and plays his part well.

He learnt to swim when he was 2 - practically before he could walk or run - and began to earn his keep soon afterwards.
