Out of the corner of her eye, Lux spotted another pair waiting for a battle. She looked away from her current battle to look for Fane. She found her partner curiously sniffing a glowing mushroom. As he opened his mouth to take an exploratory lick, she barked at him. "Fane!" He whirled around, startled. Lux motioned toward the waiting pair. "Go oversee those two, and pay close attention. Maybe you can learn something from them. And what did I tell you about the mushrooms?" Fane smiled sheepishly and saluted. "Yes, ma'am! And aren't you curious about the 'shrooms too?" He trotted over to the waiting pair, waving at them to begin.

Lux turned back to her current battle in time to see War's teeth sink into Ukiel's shoulder. She cursed herself for being distracted; she would have liked to see how War had approached the other Ahzenai. But no matter. It appeared that his teeth had done some damage to the other. Waiting may have cost Ukiel some health this time, but the battle was far from over.

RP: Shaking his head, Ahhnak got up from his place of rest, his body preparing as his mind went blank, registering only himself and his opponent. His tired body gave way to experienced muscles, too used to battles, coiled and at the ready. Without a word, he struck out with a heavy paw - after all, what better way to get back to his rest than to get it over with?

RP: Ukiel snarled, still ever silent, before whipping his head to the side, intending on stunning the attacking War, all the while bringing his large paw up, slashing at his opponent's neck, his jaws snapping in the air. The fire was starting to burn in his eyes and he swore to himself that he would not go down without giving everything he could.

This battle was a far cry from being over.

Fane hesitated mid-step as Ahhnak lashed out with a paw. The movement was so quick and unexpected, that even Fane who had received (rudimentary) training already was surprised. It seemed to be effective as well; the heavy paw made contact with the other Ahz with a clearly audible whud. Fane quickly ran the rest of the way over, skidded to a stop at a safe distance, and watched the opponent eagerly.

Ukiel retaliated with three deft motions all at once. Lux watched intently. Good, good...but... She trailed off mentally. The odd position of the Ahzenai seemed to undermine the effectiveness of the attack somewhat. War did take a hit, however, so the attack had some amount of success.

RP: War practically beamed when his attack hit home. Well.. Hit shoulder. His tail twitched from the familiar copper taste that filled his mouth. Though he felt and heard the other attack and felt the pain of it. It wasn't as bad as it could of been, but it still made War let go of that shoulder. Took a few steps back and bared his stained teeth at Ukiel.

Shook himself lightly before going for his opponent's side now. Paw is raised up and brought down in a diagonal strike. Hopefully this fight will drag on.

War released Ukiel's shoulder and Lux saw that patches of red marred the ashen fur. Unmoved, she kept staring intently as War made some distance between himself and his opponent, then rushed forward to strike again. Razor-sharp claws emerged from his flame-colored paw and dug themselves into Ukiel's right side.
