The Ivory-Billed Woodpecker, in fact it may already be extinct.

It's been recently been rediscovered in 2005-06 if i am correct.Although the population is incredably tiny,it is still alive after being 'extinct' for a decade or so.

Money. I'm not sure how much an Amur Leopard pelt is worth, but the reason most poachers kill them is for their hides. Most poachers of the Amur Leopard are willing to risk going to jail just so they can sell the pelt.
