Sapheara sat in the room, the door opened and her father stumbled in, for once he was sober, she stood and hugged him, "Dad! I'm gonna win, I promise, but i-if i don't," She choked on her tears and he held her close, "T-Take care of Rosie, and Jake...Promise me," Her father whiped a tear away, "I promise, but you gonna win." He kissed her head and said goodbye to his daughter but paused to give her a gold hair ribbon, "It was your mothers, its your token." He left and Sapheara stood straight, "I'm going to win," She determined, "Not for Rosie but for Dad." she nodded and tied the ribbon in her hair.

bryonys brother ran through the door but the peace keepers held him back. he threw a hairtie at her "it was emily's"he said before he was rushed away. bryony thought of her sister who had died in the games a few years earlier. she had made it to the final 2. a more thourogh look at the hair tie revealed it was bright pink with the word hope written on it in small black printing

Sapheara breathed deeply and watched the other Reapings, I boy in District 2 looked oddly familier, but that was impossible, "Otac," she whispered and shrugged, then a girl named Bryonys was called for a different district, the girl reminded her of herself...strong. She knelt close to the tv and hypervantalated, "Someone volenteer for her!" she whispered.

Surge flashedback to when he stood in the waiting room were your family would come and say goodbye to you and hug you and kiss you possibly for the last time except he stood alone no family except for his cousin Rachel Who was only four and a half. He smiled with amusement spreading over his face like a wildfire as she ran over to him and grabbed his leg yelling "No! No! No! You can't weave I won't wet wu!" chuckling half heartedly he picked her up and cradled her hushing to her and cooing to her trying to get her to stop crying. "It'll be okay I promise It will be funny to watch me when I get all dressed up And I promise to make you laugh and mention you in at least one of my interviews." he spoke in a soft almost fatherly voice to her which he had been basically her father because her father was a drunk and her mother had died from disease so she lived with them and his parents weren't very good at parenting in the first place so he kind of took over along with his older brother. Sighing he placed her down and planted a kiss on top of her head "Good bye Ray Ray." he said in almost a whisper smiling as she answered "bye bye Sir Sir." coming back to the present he cursed under his breath and clenched his hands into fists remembering being on stage.

Sapheara looked at Surge, she sat across the room watching, she looked down at her hands, in just a few days they'd be red with blood. She stood up and paced, when Rosie ran in she hugged her close, "Why Saph? Why?" Sapheara held her in her arms, "I couldn't lose you." Jake slipped in a joined the hug, "I Love you Sapheara."

I clenched her hands tightly. Sweat poured down my face. A women stepped toward the bowl of girl names. "And the girl tribute is..." A dead silence fell upon the crowd. "Holly!" she called out. My face turned pale, and I felt like I would pass out. Soon I slowly stepped onto the stage. "Hello!" the women said in a sprightly voice. I just nodded and tried not to meet my mothers gaze.

Jerome stood in the crowd of guys, waiting for the tribute's names to be called. His fists were clenched and his eyes squeezed shut, fear coursing throughout his veins like wild-fire. He prayed with all his heart that his sisters wouldn't be picked. He wouldn't let them take out tesserae, in fear of losing them. He took a deep breath and listened to the girl's name. The girl, he knew was only 12. He let out a sigh of relief. His sisters were spared this year. The same couldn't be said for him. The sprightly woman's voice called out "And now for the gentlemen!" she reached into the giant bowl and plucked out a piece of paper. "Jerome Rutton!" she called out. Jerome froze. He glanced over at his sisters. Jess, the younger of the two was hugging Angela fiercely. Numbness filled him as he approached the stage.

Ren fiddled with the gadget-ring on her left middle finger. Her name was called. In a way, she expected it. Keeping a cold stare in her eyes, she walked onto the stage. No one would come to say goodbye.

bryony watched the reapings on the train. the boy from two, what was his name, Otac? he looked like a worthy opponent and so did the girl from two. Bryony was suprised by how many 12 year olds were reaped this year. it had to be some kind of record


ever and otac looked at eachother mischeviously and took turns calling out i call that one! as they watched the reaping play backs

Jerome paced in the room, awaiting his family. He had a few minutes to say goodbye. The door opened and Angela and Jess came rushing in, Angela jumping up on him and Jess hugging his legs. Jerome nearly fell over. He let them go and knelt down next to them. He wiped away the tears. "Please, whatever you do, don't be sad. I'll try my best to win for you, but there is a good chance that i won't make it. Angela, no more pick-pocketing, you're gonna get yourself killed." Angela looked down at her feet. Tears began to flow again as she handed her brother an apple. IT was horribly bruised, but the sentiment behind it was heartwarming. Jerome hugged Angela close. "Take care of Jess. You're the biggest now." he said. He hugged Jess tight and then hugged his mother. At that moment, the Peacemakers came and took him away.

Ren didn't bother waiting in the room. She had her token, and her wits about her. She boarded the train and watched the scenery pass as it started rolling on towards the next district. She had a plan. She was a great engineer with electricity. she'd band together with the careers, and when they all had their backs turned, she'd take them out one by one. She turned towards the screen and watched the playbacks of the reapings.

Surge looked at them wishing he had someone besides his four-year old cousin wanting him to come home. Standing up he walked to the dining compartment were his districts most recent victor was eating a sandwich and watching the tv which was showing the reapings.
