I clenched my sweaty, clammy hands into tight fists as I awaited the boys name to be drawn. "And the boy tribute will be..." silence the whole world seemed to be on mute as the announcer stuck her prettied up hand into the most likely rigged basket and drew a name. Everything froze as the name was called my older brother looked at me and then so did everyone else as she called out MY name out of hundreds it was MINE that was called. "Come to the stage boy." she called. But I couldn't my feet wouldn't move. My brother touched my shoulder which seemed to bring me back I took a step. Then another, and another, and another til I found myself next to Elaine on the stage.

the boy tribute flew by and they shook hands then before she knew it bryony was being pushed into the justice building surrounded by peacekeepers

I clenched her hands tightly. Sweat poured down my face. A women stepped toward the bowl of girl names. "And the girl tribute is..." A dead silence fell upon the crowd. "Holly!" she called out. My face turned pale, and I felt like I would pass out. Soon I slowly stepped onto the stage. "Hello!" the women said in a sprightly voice. I just nodded and tried not to meet my mothers gaze.

Silence. The only sound that could be heared was the faint sound of the people near you breathing. I held the hands of the two girls on either side of me, squeezing them tightly wishing that the name the our capital repersentative had just called wasn't mine. I saw the sympathetic eyes turned to me and wished that the would turn to rest on another girls face instead of mine that had turned the color of snow. I wished that when I stood on the stage it wasn't really me and that it wasn't really me who had to see my Father and my seven siblings just begining to realize what was really happening and see the hate and anger of my best friend Kane looking away loathing the cpital even more now. But it was me and I know now that wishes don't come true. Never have and Never will. I didn't hear the name of the boy who was called and didn't really recognize him when we shook hand and were lead away to be loaded onto the train. I said quick and sorrowful goodbyes to all my family and hugged my friend Kane tears rolling down my cheeks and soaking into his shirt as I burried my face in it for most likely the last time. I looked up into his face and whispered a four letter word that resulted in a kiss. I had to tell him so if I never see him again he would know. One of the gaurds was calling for me so I turned and ran from the life I only wish I could have in this district. My fate had been decided though and I knew the only way to see everyone I loved again was to win.

Bryony waited in agony for her mother and friends to come and say goodbye. she looked out the window wishing that this never happened.looking out at the cows she remembered Lucky, her cow that she had been given for her 9th birthday, she would miss her so much.

Darius (representative) stepped out onto the stage in a ridicules getup "welcome to the 36th annual hunger games and may the odds be ever in your favor!" he walked over to the reaping bowl "the girl tribute will be... Ever Remands " Ever stepped up onto the stage and sighed at least she was a career "and our boy tribute will be emmond starfall" otac sighed it was his turn to volunteer after all they did train then volunteer. he stepped forward "I volunteer" he said and stepped up to the stage then the tributes shook hands and walked into the justice building

Sapheara held little Rosies hand as they waited for tributes to be called by Markus, "And the girl tribute is...Rosie Wayne!" Sapheara froze, she gripped Rosies hand, not letting her go up on stage. The peace makers came and one grabbed Rosie and the other, Sapheara. "NO!" Sapheara screamed as her fingers were pulled from Rosies small hands, she reached for her begging the peacekeeper to let go, 'I have to save her!' She thought, '....It has to be me' She elbowed one peacemaker in the stomach, making him fall to the ground, when a second came to stop her, she grabbed his arm and flipped him over her back and onto the ground. Sapheara ran to the Aisle between the boys and the girls, She turned to Markus, desperate tears running down her face, "I volenteer." she barely wispered, Markus turned to her, "What child? speak up." Sapheara thought about turning back but when she saw scared little Rosie and her own twin brother looking at her as their last hope she knew it had to be done "I VOLENTEER!" she yelled finally. Markus gave his capitol smile and said cheerfully, "Okay! We have a volenteer!" The peacemakers let Rosie go and she flew in Sapheara arms, "Win, Sapheara, don't leave me here alone with dad." Sapheara managed a nod and turned to see her brother pressing his three fingers to his lips then held it towards her...a final goodbye, "I'll win Jake! I'll win for you and Rosie!" and with that was led to the justice building.
