What does the date have to do with the hoard at all? The pets can be from every date, be it the within the original release month or a december re-release. They just have to fit into the category, means if it's single variation then it has to be one and the same pet, if it's a year then it has to be originally released in that year - but re-releases could still be in.
Imzadi's ponies were all adopted within the month they were released [since as a 2012 pet they werent even re-released so far], so I don't see a problem.
Same with Poppet's donkeys. The date doesn't matter for the hoard - only the pets themselves do. Of course, the donkeys are likely harder to get since they were only available for a day, but they would -as far as I and the others who posted know- still belong into the same category as they're bot single variation hoards with the same lineart - donkey or not, I'm pretty sure they don't count as a holiday species.

That was my point. It doesn't qualify for a hoard based on the date, and since it doesn't qualify for the lineart either then it doesn't really qualify for anything. You just gotta collect more.

There are no hoards based on a date unless it's a theme hoard for, whatever - a birthday or so. In that case, only pets with the same adoption date[s] would count, but for all the other hoards the date is not important at all. The pets have to fit the category, that's all.
We're talking about the Single Variation New Horse hoard here, so the only criterium is that the hoard consists of one and the same outcome of a pet based on the horse or pony lineart, which is met in both, Imzadi's and Poppet's hoards.
I'm also pretty sure we've had a donkey hoard qualify for the horse category before - or maybe it was the llamas, but either way, they likely belong to that category. ^^

So in that case Poppet would have to beat Toki's butterbun hoard.
But on the other hand above mentioned hoard consists of both, Yulynh's and equis donkeys, so there could be a difference...

I think the initial question remains, does it beat a record or not? And is Toki's hoard updated?

Edit: Well Toki's hoard has 500+ so that ends the discussion I suppose. No hoard was beat..

Think link you posted was in response to someone asking about all donkeys, equimagine -and- Yulynh. I still think that if it's just the Yulynh donkeys, then they could count as ponies considering they're just edited pony lineart. Counting them as a special species would be like counting Tyr's dragon butterfly wolves as a special species because they're butterfly wolves -edited- to look like dragons. But they're still counted as butterfly wolves because that's the base lineart that is used. The same thing would apply for Yulynh's donkeys, because all they are are Yulynh ponies with an edited lineart.

Just curious, I didnt see a same blanket new horse hoard section. theres a single variation and a pony same blanket one but not a horse one, that I can see atleast. Maybe I missed it?

There's no distinction between ponies and horses in this list, other than the old and new horse lineart sets. So a single variation horse hoard would have to beat the same number as a single variation pony hoard.
