Melody blinked in surprise, though her cheeky grin never wavered. "Seriously, you'd lend a complete stranger your comic?!" She paused for a second but, just in case he changed his mind, she quickly regained her composture. "Wow, thanks!"

Calvin grinned, "Well, you're not a complete stranger, and besides, I know where you live!" he menaced jokingly, baring his teeth in a bit of wolf-like theatrics. Then he smiled at her; she was so easy to smile at.

She sighed and sat down on blechers((i know i spelled it wrong)) wondering if she would make any friends.

Melody laughed, rolling her eyes. She knew they should probably be paying attention to the power placement, but she was much more interested in talking to... "Hey, what's your name, anyway?" She asked suddenly, cocking her head. She felt her cheeks turn a barely-noticable shade of pink under her freckles. She should probably know that, he had gone up already, right? "I mean, I... was kinda daydreaming the whole time." She mumbled, not wanting to embarass herself any more.

Man... she didn't even know my name! Shot down! Calvin grabbed at his heart, like he'd been shot or something, "Argh! She got me! Right in the heart! Ohhh!" he moaned dramatically, sinking partway to the floor. Then he stopped, stood back up and smiled at her, "It's Cal or Calvin or Your Highness... no, I'm just kidding! Cal will do. And I know how you feel, I'm pretty numb right now myself. Just wait 'til you get up there. You think you're mind's gone now!" Oops, so much for trying to make her feel LESS nervous.

Melody giggled softly, something very unlike her. It was rare to get a true laugh out of her, let alone this sing-song, purely happy giggle. Her curly red hair fell out from where it had been pinned in place, so she reached up and tucked a few of the strands behind her ear sheepishly. "Well then, nice to meet you Cal." She said cheerfully. Once he started talking about how bad it was to be up there, the smile was wiped off her face. "It's really that bad?" She asked slowly, her eyes wide with worry. She wasn't normally one to get nervous, and yet here she was, nervous.

"No! No, I'm just being melodramatic so you'll look to me for comfort", he grinned like the Cheshire Cat, "It's really not bad at all. Really. It's over before you know it," he said, patting her reassuringly. "Sorry, I didn't mean to horrify you or anything."

Melody laughed nervously, though she calmed down slightly. "Well, you sure did a good job of horrifying me!" She exlaimed jokingly. "I wasn't worried at all, and now..." She laughed softly and shook her head, blinking. "I just wish we could get this over with already, I hate being with a lot of people for a long time."
