The last human on earth was sitting in his house, eating.

There was a knock on the door.

O-O I'm working on a short horror book for my English Class right now.
XD I just wrote some of the murderer in the book talking...
I think I made him too insane...
Well, actually, no, I think I'm just going too much into his personality... >-> Like I do with all my characters...
“Do you know what it’s like,” he whispered, leaning in near my ear. “That one moment? The one moment when that one second of pure fear flashes in a victim’s eyes?”
A sinister smirk spread across his face, and he stood up, gesturing his arms out wide. “All the abhorrence of it! The trepidation that glints in their expression in that one moment during which they’ll come to question if their life is going to come to an end the next second!”
He then leaned his head over my shoulder, looking back at me in the corner of his eye. However, before I knew it, the cold edge of a large blade was pressed to the skin on my neck, and I froze in fear.
“The one moment…” he murmured, his smirk growing as a drop of blood trickled down my neck. “When they tremor under your blade… But even under all the dismay and unease, you can still see the abomination that burns inside of them, just for you! The one that shall yank their very lives away from them!”

Re: The Reflection In The Mirror

It is said that 3 AM is the hour when the dead are most active...
If you possess the courage, stand in the middle of any darkened room at exactly 3 AM. Anything before or after will not work. There must not be any mirrors or reflective surfaces in this room, or you will be slain. But carry a handheld mirror with you, keep it in your pocket.
Draw a faint circle around you with salt. Don't worry-you won't mess up the carpet.
Hold in your hand a single candle, lit of course. Other than that, everything must be black. Focus on one point in the room, where the light cannot reach, and stare, unblinking, at this spot, until you feel yourself growing weak.
Don't blink, or look away. It will see this as a weakness.
Without looking away, set the candle by your feet, and do not let any part of your body cross the salt line, or it will take you. Watch the flame of the candle. If it flickers violently for more than 5 seconds, quickly blow it out and stay in the circle, and don't say anything until you hear a hissed, "Cowards-s-s are-e-e s-s-s-o eas-sy to-o p-p-poss-ssess-ss."
However...if you did it correctly, the flame will begin to smoke. Wait for the smoke to fade. Before you will appear a face. It will be black and twisted and evil. It's eyes will be dark black holes, and it will smell of decaying flesh.
You must not look at the face!!
Focus on the point of the room, and use your peripheral vision, or it will take your eyes and kill you in the darkness. The demon wants your soul.
From the corner of your eye you will see it move. Do not flinch as it tries to cross the circle, you are safe as long as you have the circle, because the entity will want to possess you.
You will hear it whisper something. Do not listen to the words, then it will get very cold. Now is the time to ask it one question.
Any question you ask will be answered true, but you must not be bias, or shallow in your question, or it will slash you in the throat and disappear.
But watch the candle. If it starts to flicker before it answers, that means you must slowly take out the handheld mirror, and keep it faced down. Hold it toward the candle. The reflection of the fire is not moving.
Quickly blow out the candle, keeping the mirror up. When the candle is out, the reflection will still be there in the mirror. If there is an eye in the middle of the flame...
Run.
And never look into that mirror again. And you must never be in a dark room with a mirror again. For it will be watching.

This is a story I wrote a while ago. It's a bit long, compared to the rest of the stories in this topic... I hope no-one minds? :/

It was a dark and stormy night.

A wolf howled. Tessa started, looking frantically around the forest clearing.
Why did I take that dare?! She thought, terrified. I don't think there's an ancient hut in here, let alone a castle!

Just then, a bolt of lightning illuminated the peak of a tower, so close that the building couldn't be more than twenty feet away. The thunder roared, seeming to go on longer than usual as Tessa gingerly crept through the trees towards the castle. A little ways in, she almost bumped into a stone fence that had crumbled and been overtaken by the forest. She couldn't see a gate, so she climbed over. Just beyond the stone wall was the back door of the castle. It was ajar, luckily: looking at the rusty hinges she wasn't sure she could have budged it on her own.

Stealthily, she tiptoed in. It's real! Ron owes me twenty dollars! Now I just need to find proof that I was here and I can get out of here and go home... What was that?!
She jumped nearly out of her skin as something caught on her hoodie. Screaming, she twisted out of the coat and ran back to the door.

She cowered there for a moment, but since she didn't hear anything chasing her she dared to return to see what had happened. She found nothing but an old rusty kitchen knife, her hoodie caught where the handle had been before it rotted away. Examining the garment, she found that the knife had ripped a large hole in the back, rendering it useless. Oh well, I guess it's not that cold out... but still. It's my favourite hoodie! She thought. Cursing mildly, she dropped it on the floor.
Brave from this harmless incident, she ventured inwards.

Tessa discovered lots of interesting things in the hallway, taking time-untouched paintings from the walls and emptying drawers, looking for secret compartments. Gaining confidence, she began ripping the aged wallpaper from walls in hopes of finding a secret door.
In the third room she actually found one, hiding a wooden staircase. Wandering up, she froze as she heard voices. But... this castle's ancient. Nobody lives here... it's probably just more people out on a dare, or...
I bet Ron thinks he can scare me. Hah! I'll show him!

She avoided creaks on her way up, and crouched behind the door, planning on jumping in. Her plans were halted, however, when she heard the conversation going on inside the room.

“She is RUINING my HOUSE!” A male voice thundered, furious. “WHY can't I just eat her and be DONE with it?”
“Patience,” a female voice laughed capriciously. “With my plan, she'll not only be drink for you more than once, she'll also clean, and bring you news of the outside world. Plus, I was the one who brought her here, can't I have some fun?”
“Fine...” the male voice grumbled. “Where is she?”
“Why, she's right outside this room! Aren't you, dear?”

The door gave way, and Tessa fell into the room. She passed through what felt like a soap bubble in the doorway, and the house changed around her. The half-rotted wood floor became glossy and polished, the wallpaper turned gold and red, and the mould on the chairs was replaced with fabric that matched the walls.
She barely glanced at the inhabitants before turning and bolting down the stairs, screaming as she tripped on the skirts she was suddenly wearing. The changes had spread to the rest of the house. The only thing left the same was the destruction she had wrought: the piles of wallpaper, the heaps of trinkets and broken drawers.

That's a big mess. I don't want to clean that up...

She slowed, entering the kitchen. I wouldn't want to trip and knock something over.
Spying an odd garment beneath a counter, she picked it up curiously.

This is an odd fabric,
she thought, fingering the sleeve. It seems familiar. Was this...mine? But... I can't remember...
“Tessa! Are you coming with my tray?”
“Yes Master!” She replied, dropping the odd coat onto the hearth before grabbing the bottle of red liquid and heading towards the Master's study.
Behind her, an odd gust of wind blew the hoodie into the fire.

And the Lady laughed.

Here is one I wrote myself~

Here are the rules to this ritual. Doing this ritual correctly will allow you to ask the black cat in the red collar 3 questions. You can ask anything, and it will answer truthfully to it's ability. You must visit a cemetery. Find a grave that was a small 7 etched on it. This 7 will be hard to find, because this cat doesn't give it's knowledge out to those who are foolish. Once you have found the grave, you must visit it 3 days in a row and leave cat food and a bowl of milk by the gave once a day for those 3 days, or else the cat will not come. After that you will need to buy a candle, doesn't matter what color, a red ribbon, 3 matches, and an offering to the cat. Go to the grave at sunset, light the candle. If you use all three matches do not try to re-create this ritual, because they cat doesn't think you're worthy. If you can light the candle using the three matches or less, the black cat with the red collar will walk out. It will say hello and adress you by your name. You may either ask three questions, or be granted a single wish. There is one exception, if the cat is wearing no collar, then you may ask to become one of them and gain infinite knowledge. Once you have asked your questions or wish, you must thank the cat and give your offering. The cat will dismiss you. Once you are out of the cemetery, tie the ribbon around your thumb and sleep with it there. You may do whatever you want with it after that.
There are no penalties for doing this incorrectly. However, if you try to do this procedure again once you have preformed the ritual or been denied the process, a demon will great you instead of the cat, and you will have to work for him as long as he likes.

This was a "story" I was told a while back. The level of it's fiction is unknown.

About three years ago in Fukui, Japan, there was a woman and her daughter. Cho, the mother, wasn't too popular, about as known as the average citizen. She had a two-year-old baby girl, who's name was unmentioned in the passing of this story. The two lived alone together as far as detail tells, and Cho's X-husband/finance' was moved out.
About mid-fall Cho and her X battled for legal rights over their precious daughter. After losing custody of her 2-year-old she had worked her life for, Cho committed suicide by jumping off a 20+ story apartment building at late night in her pajamas.

To this day, there have been victims claiming to see Cho's body walking the streets of Fukui. Cho always asks anyone who runs into her in a somewhat deformed voice, "Where is my baby?!" The victims always wake up elsewhere with a very vague memory of the previous evening.
