Gah I'm horrible.. >.< I don't need anymore rats.. but..
Timberlake had this baby hooded girlie, unsure of her color.. undercoat is a grey-blue top coat a light coffee color. she has a large irregular hood.. dark eyes.. shes beautiful. and sweet. I should have gotten her a buddy but I was so excited I didn't even think of it so I'll try to get her one in the next few days.. until shes big enough to be with the adults.. sailar is already content with her so I might just put them together..

I just got a rat from the petstore a couple weeks ago and it turned out she was pregnant. She had a litter of seven babies on Saturday... but I just found the last one dead in her cage. Now she keeps trying to bite me. I've heard hairless rats have issues with reproduction, but I didn't think she'd kill her litter like that. Now I'm afraid to put her back in with the juvenile I had gotten for her for company before I realized she was pregnant, because I don't want her hurting that one, too.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
just yourself be if weird is you

It shouldn't be too much cause for worry. Some females get very moody and territorial when they give birth. Once they get older and she settles down more, she should be fine. She should actually take to younger rat just fine, but I would keep an eye on them.
EDIT: I read that wrong. She's probably just stressed. Hairless' do have problems with breeding, and it was probably just a lot on the poor girl. I would give her some time to calm down, and try to keep her as unstressed as you can possibly control. After she does, it would most likely be a good idea introducing her to the younger girl, as she would take to another who is younger as she probably still has those maternal instincts activated. I'm no expert though, just think it may help.
Also, I may be getting a new pair of rats, my mom said we could adopt them, because I don't want them ending up as breeders/feeders. I just have to wait for them to email me back.

Now I feel terrible. My girls aren't even a year and I don't know how long I can keep Apollo. I didn't have the time to handle her in the past couple of months (they were fed, cage cleaned, etc.), but she's gotten to where I can't touch her. Period. I've put on gloves and she attacks them if I try to pick her up. Her sister is fine, I can snuggle her and everything. Any advice?
Previously iRowdy/OneRowdyNight and all sorts of other things.
Rest In Peace Zax. I love you.

I picked up my two new rats today, and the girl is about ready to pop she's so pregnant. I'm just hoping that all this stress doesn't make her go into labor early.
Ah, I'm just so on edge, I don't know what to do with the boy right now, he's gonna be by himself for some time before I can get him a new cage mate or even fixed.
They're really sweet though, they don't even know me and momma still let me pick her up and handle her. I was really upset to see how these people were keeping them. I mean, they were being feed on rabbit food and table scraps.
I'm just happy that they're here right now, the poor girl would've have likely had her babies with somebody who knew nothing, or she would have kept getting pregnant.
