Finchclaw's heart sunk as the kit bounded away. Lightningpaw was already his apprentice. Unless something happened, he could never be his mentor. Oh well; Tidekit would be able to live with it.

"Finchclaw, can you show me some moves?" Lightningpaw asked hopefully.

[Chickenpaste]

Finchclaw looked around at his apprentice. "Oh, Lightningpaw... We'll train when the rain stops, ok?" he said, looking hopeful.

[donovan.]

The Rain Ends. A Rainbow emerges.

Crystalnose padded from the medicine cat den. She laughed at Tidekit, and padded over to Finchclaw. She sat a friendly distance away from him.

[Chickenpaste]

Finchclaw looked at Crystalnose. He felt a bit akward around her, but smiled at her anyways. He turned back to his apprentice. "Alright, I guess we're just in time," he meowed. "This is the best time to hunt, when prey comes out for food and water. Follow me." He started off towards the shrubs.

Crystalnose watched them leave, she flicked her ear solemnly. Then curled up.

Lightningpaw followed Finchclaw excitedly. He sniffed the air and narrowed his eyes in concentration.

Finchclaw was about a dolphin-length into the rainforest with Lightningpaw when he stopped. He flicked his tail for Lightningpaw to do the same. Sniffing the air, he hissed quietly, "What do you smell?"
