Agh!! Oops, a litttle late here. But-}}
Kale-D11-15-Rabbit
P…Predetors, all of them. Surrounding him, on every plate, each with their own unique way of killing him. Kale is absolutely terrified as the seconds tick away, long white ears fluffed out in pure unbridled fear. His knuckles become whiter then his ears as he clenches his fists, and his heart starts beating at a mile a minute. Fifty seconds. He hasn’t taken in any other surroundings then the twenty three predetors around him- some with sharp teeth made for ripping flesh from bone, and others with fingers so sharp they can only be properly described as claws.
The platinum blonde shifts uneasily on his plate. He’s forgotten all instruction from his mentor in his panic, and his mind races to think something up. Going to the Cornicopia was a horrible idea- the worst idea ever, he can’t do that! He’d take leaping strides over to the horn- and then what? The others would be seconds behind him- no, half seconds, and Kale would be mincemeat with a dagger through the heart before his hypersensitive ears could twitch. Forty seconds.
But as bad as that sounds- Kale knows running away would just be worse. He could survive on whatever sort of greenery there was, sure- he still hasn’t looked around at his surroundings- but for what cause? So these predetors could hunt him down? What about the mutts? The captitol’s freaky mutant animals would surely get to the district eleven tribute, track him by scent, doggedly chase after him for hours until he tires, and then slowly take him apart. …All in view of his siblings on live TV.
Thirty seconds. Everything is all white noise now, everything but the timer is lost to him. His siblings. He’d never see them again. His sisters- Holly, just a year younger then himself, and little seven year old Wren. But most of all, the twelve year old twins, Leaf, and his only brother who he had volunteered for to keep them together- Stalk.
The timer drops to twenty seconds as he replays their goodbyes in his head. Then, the boy’s blue eyes widen dramatically.
No. He would not put his siblings through it.
They would not get their hopes up as he fights thirst, hunger and whatever else the gamemakers decide to torture him with.
Because he would not play by their rules.
In fact, he was going to break one right now.
Kale feels the weight lift from him as he takes a step foreward, ears lax against his head.
And as the timer hits ten seconds at the same time the very quiet, almost silent click goes off- heard only by the boy with the rabbit ears to mark the mine for denonination, he smiles. It never leaves his face as he’s blown to bits with nine seconds to go. In fact, even though no one can hear it, he laughs when everything goes black. Kale has won, in his own special way- he’s beat the system.
Cog Captor-D3-14-Honey Badger
The seconds had flashed by, and the honey badger boy was still looking around at his surroundings when the gong had rang out. Jungle, jungle everywhere. Perfect- it would be a type of enviroment he could thrive in. Cog's first instinct was to go in for the goods, so that's exactly what he does, albiet hesitantly. People are already picking things up when he gets there, so he just has to grind his teeth and slash his way to a navy-blue bag. Just before he turns and runs, though, his curved fingers close around the shaft of a spear. ...He'd thrown a few in training, it wasn't that hard. But he's got to move fast because there's someone trying to attack him, so he just turns metaphorical tail and runs after taking a slice to his shoulder. His skin's thicker then average due to his DNA, so it doesn't do a whole lot of damage, but since he's running as fast and he can and really exerting himself, the short boy's sleeve begins to turn red.
