Skye smiled at him, and looked up at the sky only a few seconds afterwards, she sighed, seeing no stars... Only black... The lights were too bright in the city. It made her wonder if the capitol's citizens have ever even seen real stars at night? If they have, it must have been hard....
She gave a small laugh at what Calcifer had said about the rumours. "No, Its not all we do..." She said and smiled, laughing a bit and looking at the sky, memories returning to her quickly. "We do fish, but almost no girl does, lots of the girls make nets. We dont have much other than fruit to eat around there... We get a bag of grain when you put your name in the bowl... But that's not enough for two months..." She said, forgetting the question and just babbling now.
"We have bonfires after the hunger games for those of us who are safe for a year... We have only one park, and its only for the rich kids, so most of us play in the water... It makes me nervous when Aaron does though, because if something were to happen, I couldn't save him..." She continued.
"There's tons of animals that just walk down the streets, like turtles, and mocking-jays... The streets are perfect in the centre of the city... Thats where you want to live... If you go there, and trespass onto someone else's property, you get beaten in the town square..." She said and sighed.
"Its almost never completely quiet, the ocean, kids and peacekeepers make sure of that... There is beaches everywhere you go... We usually have school outside on the beach...." She said and looked back at him, smiling. She obviously missed her home.
She then continued, There's only two legal fishing supply stores, and that's my dads, and a rich family's... People usually go there, but they buy my nets... Houses that aren't in the centre are big, they are held up by wooden, or metal poles... So when it floods, they dont have to loose lots... Thats really the only bad thing about our district, when it rains enough we get bad floods..."
She said and looked out over the city. "Tons of people die from it... Mainly in the outside of town... I dont get why though... They should realize that fishing isn't safe when the waters high..." She tacked on and looked out over the capitol...
Sky then smiled, "Ima tell you a secret... But you cant tell anyone, and you have to promise not to laugh at me?" She said looking at him with that famous smile she wore for him. "I can't swim," she said after a few minutes.
