Mickey is a cheery jokester who is rarely gloomy. He's been called sadistic - mostly in a joking manner - because rather than trying to cheer up someone who is sad, he takes advantage of the situation and turns it into a photo op. He holds photography over most emotions, both for himself and others. As one can imagine, this attitude of holding his art so high often leads to inevitable heartbreak. Needless to say, his reputation caught up with him and he hasn’t had a meaningful relationship in what seems like years, but it’s not like he’s been alive very long, either.
There's an awkwardness about him when he's not on his board or hiding behind his camera. He’s not quite what one would call clumsy, but he’s certainly not graceful when he merely walks on his own two feet. When he gets on his skateboard, all of that seems to disappear; and when he’s taking pictures he becomes aloof and cool. Even when he’s into his artistic release, he is still able to joke and have fun with friends if he was already previously in that mood. And although not shy, words tend to elude him. He doesn’t even really think in words, but more of a collage of pictures. This only adds to the holes in his personality when it comes to intimacy. He’d much rather present the object of his affection with loads of pictures to express himself. Unfortunately, he takes too much pride in his art and does not want to throw it away on someone who will potentially leave him anyway.
{{ history:
Mickey was born in South Korea when his dad was stationed there. He was meant to be born in the states, but he was born premature and so his family ended up staying in the country for an extra two months. They moved when Mckinley was still an infant, so he doesn’t remember anything from Korea. After that, they moved to Hawaii and then continued moving to different states every 2-3 years. His dad retired from the Army in Manhattan, really just taking a dive in spontaneity. It was when he enrolled in middle school there that he met Annie.
The two were fast friends, especially after Mickey had caught the girl after she tripped over her own feet, and saved her from crashing into a table with a bowl of punch on it. Both of them actually had their cameras at the time, which quickly opened up a topic for discussion between the two and everything just snowballed from there.
Mickey had taken up photography as a way to cope with moving around so much. His parents thought it would help if he could have pictures of the people he was leaving behind. Soon the simple coping method turned into a full-fledged obsession, and Mckinley photographed more than just people. He started doing extra chores and picking up babysitting jobs so that he could earn money for equipment. Mostly self-taught, he did take a couple of amateur classes at hobby-specialty stores.
When it was time for him to enter high school, he was unfortunately split away from Annie, because he was sent to Northwood, while she continued to Webster. He’d never felt like he’d fit in as well as he had at Northwood, even though he couldn’t always see Annie on a daily basis. His heart broke when Northwood was destroyed, but at least with the new arrangement he’d be able to see his best friend.

{{ personalty:
Annie is shy and a little withdrawn until she actually makes a friend. Even then, she is in no way loud like most other teenagers. She still laughs and jokes with her friends, but she isn’t quite as “hyperactive” and has more of a calmness about her. She’s often been described as serene, both when behind her camera and those rare times she’s not. When she is friends with someone she feels comfortable teasing and often throws playful, girly punches.
She is very secure with herself and is tough to put down. While she seems to be in control of her emotions, she has the capability of losing her temper a bit if someone is trying to verbally fight her. Annie also gets bit angry when people don’t stand up for themselves, because she doesn’t understand why they wouldn’t.
She is often a victim of word vomit and knows it, but there is nothing she can do to stop it. Unfortunately, she has actually come to terms with the word vomit just being a verbal clumsiness that accompanies her physical clumsiness. She’s a total klutz, though can’t seem to move gracefully no matter how hard she tries. Apparently it’s something that makes boys either roll their eyes or turn into condescending jerks. But it’s not like Annie tries to be so clumsy; not only is it a hassle, but she doesn’t find it cute, either.
{{ history:
Annie has lived in Manhattan all her life; in fact, the only time she’s ever moved was when she was five, and it was only across town. Her entire family is into the arts, but business as well – the males more than the females are into the business side of things. Therefore it wasn’t long before Annie found a camera in her hands, soon never leaving the house without one. Her mother loves taking on interior decorating projects, while her father enjoys writing, acting, and baking. James and Joseph, her older twin brothers, are fashion designers. They tried their hand at high fashion for a while, but then discovered they much preferred more practical clothes. The two opened a boutique, selling their own designs.
When Annie was five, her family moved into a Pepto-Bismol pink house, the parlor of which was turned into a quaint café, with the family living upstairs. She used to love that house when she was a little girl, then in middle school she went through a period of hating it, but she loves it again now that she’s matured. Unfortunately, her room hasn’t matured with her, and it still looks like it belongs to a little girl, other than the full-sized bed.
In middle school, she met Mckinley Weiss and found in him a best friend. It was devastating when the two were separated in high school, especially since Annie was supposed to attend Northwood, after her brothers, but her parents had decided to send her to Webster so that she could find an appreciation for the business world. She was going to go to Webster for at least two years, and then transfer over to Northwood, but unfortunately it was destroyed before that happened.
