In the depths of what was once known as North America a place called panem now stands. the capitol and twelve outlaying districts live here. after the dark days when the districts rebelled against the country that fed, loved and supported them the capitol punished them by forcing each district to supply one young man and woman between the ages of twelve and eighteen to be sent to the custody of the capitol where they will be trained, then sent to a large arena to fight to the death until a lone victor remains
