I happened to notice your list in your siggy. ))
Sam was sick of this life, running in the treetops from dawn til dusk. He wanted the Hood's power and influence. But he knew that to get that, he had to first complete his mission. He doubled back to stop at the King's castle for supplies, strutting confidently past the guards without them taking a second glance. He was a master of disguise and persuasion. He was rounding to the stables, hopefully to steal some of the King's horses or find someone to ask for food and water, when he realized there was a commotion here. His eyes narrowed and he approached someone at the back of the crowd, blending right in as always despite his mismatched eyes. He tapped the girl on the shoulder and smiled pleasantly, his eyes showing no sign of emotion in their intensity. "Excuse me, Miss, what has happened here? And where is the King?" he said quickly, intent on getting answers and soon getting into the castle. Of course, nobody could know this, as he seemed only a curious guest of the king. ((He's talking to Saya this time))
Chris stopped short, momentarily confused. He didn't recognize the speaker's voice, and what they were saying didn't make sense. Maybe it was Stephan. He had never gotten to know him very well. Shame washed over him as he realized it was true; there was no Chris in the Hood, and there hadn't been for years. "Leaving the Hood was necessary, but it is a decision I have regretted since the moment I made it. Five years is a long time... and I never said goodbye to Arowin, either. I-I love her, you know. Please, just listen to me. I want to come back. I can make it up to you guys. Look, I even brought these squirrels." He was begging, and his will was growing weaker. He held out the pair of freshly killed animals into the lantern's light, shaking slightly. He wasn't wanted here.
Prince Stephan laughed at himself under his breath. Why was this so hard to say? His face glowed with the words he couldn't form. He looked at Rebecca, waiting, and thought he heard hoofbeats in the distance. The Hood must be back, but they were far enough away from the castle that he couldn't see the riders. Sure enough, lanterns switched on in the castle and spilled light across the lawn. Stephan glanced up at the night sky, unable to think, let alone speak. He had always had a sort of nervous habit of that, like the clouds would spell out the answer. Finally he couldn't take the silence anymore. Working up his guts he looked Rebecca in the eye and half of a smile seized his lips. "I have to show you something," he announced, and before either of them could react, he leaned down and kissed her right on the mouth. It was gentle and sweet and nearly almost as quickly as he had kissed her, he pulled back. A little clumsy as usual, his lips brushed her cheek as he broke away and he laughed a little more. "I'm sorry," he apologized after wards, for the overall abrupt kiss, a gentleman as always. He was smiling though, at this point most of the tension broken.
