Dear Father,
Yes, it was Semi-formal at school last night. Yes, I'm a girl, female. But guess what dad? I'm a tomboy, and a nice pretty shirt is more than enough for me. The other girls can go in three-inch heels they can't walk in. They can go in little dresses and ridiculous tube skirts. But I will not. I am not them. I am me, and I am a Geek dad, a nerd. I'm also bi and the person you think is my best friend is actually my girlfriend. And I love her like no tommorrow. You're going to be so dissappointed when I tell you, If I ever tell you Dad. You always say I'll end up with a nice boy, and I might... but I really do love her, even if we can't express it by society's rules. But society... can go eat snails. Girls are supposed to be pretty, and care about the way they look, and what colour their hair is, what magazine the top celebrities are in. They're supposd to hang out at the mall, love going shopping for clothes, have played with barbie dolls when they were small children. Normal girls are supposed to be caught up in their phones all the time, and speak in chat code or text code or whatever it is. Girls are supposed to have weird little purses and do their hair up everyday, put big spangeldy earrings in. You think you accept me for who I am, but you don't know who I am. And another thing, most of girls nowadays are bubbleheads. I'm sorry, but have you seen the meager fare at my school who actually have the drive, the passion, the knowledge to do the best they can in life? There are so few of us, it's stupid. But one day, we'll rule the world. We'll say that society can go eat snails, and stand up. And it's starting with me and my friends Dad. Next year, I become the leader of a revolution, and I will ask for thousands to join my cause. Next year is highschool, and I can't wait not to be picked on every once of the day. I can't wait to finally be happy at school. I can't wait to finally be me publically.
Beacasue I don't care if I'm not supposed to own a complete set of megablocks dragons from years and years ago. I don't care that I'm not allowed to love my girlfriend, whom I call my wife. I don't care anymore. Not a bloody inch.
I'll wear a dress for graduation dad, but that's beacasue I'll be saying goodbye to my current school on that day. And i can't wait to say goodbye.
~ Love,
The Captain Rose, Tomboy, Geek, Nerd, tree-hugger, animal-lover, bisexual, and, most importantly,
Your Daughter.
