Kristen smiled."Yeah they keep to themselves most of the time but their kind...but be careful with the guards and doctors their rude and mean and some people are truely full on insane here but all you have to do is avoid them and you'll be fine.."She said quietly.

I look at her. Crazy? Even more crazy than us? Not likely. I give a quick nod and frown. "Were in an Asylum arent we?" I say, knowing its true but not really wanting to tell myself it. The one last dissaproving and feerful look my family gave me will be the last thing i saw of them. Im trapped in a fenced in area like an animal. Like a pshyco...

Kristen nodded sadly."yeah we are...Were in here for different reasons but I dont care what reasons as long as I dont have to be alone in the dark anymore..."She said with a smile.'what was going on in this girls head?...what was she thiking about that made her look so scared?'

"Me too." I say forcing a smile. "Your nice. I think you should be outside.." I look at the ground again.this girl looks normal as anything and my first impression is a baggy eyed, twitching, paranoid girl.

Kristen smiled."No not really...I screwed up really bad..."she said sadly."I deserve to be in here..."she said looking down.

I look at her. "But we can try to make it better." I say hopefully. Im surprised that i found any hope at all seeing where we are. "We just need to try." I say forcing another smile. In my case, ill probably never leave. But the rest of them can. If theyre fully functional, maybe, maybe we could all leave. But im bringing my hopes up too far. We ARE in an asylum. What can give you any hope here?

Kristen looked up at her and genuin smile on her face."Thanks.."She said softly."And you know what?...we absolutly can...We truelly can..."She said nodding her head a plan forming.

I smile and have no choice but to hug her. "Friends?" I say quietly and look up at Kristen. To be honest, the outside world was worse than in the bars of the Asylum. The people here actually seem nicer. They are the ones who wont judge me for being me. That wont cause me to look at a knife everyday and think should I do it? They might aswell be in the Asylum with us. They are the ones that bring death, sarrow, pain. Everything. When i walk down a hall way i dont get glances that say 'I hate you.' And its not my fault. 'It' just hates to be ignored...

Kristen giggled and nodded hugging her back."Yep! friends.."She said smiling.This was probably the second friend she had now.She was on a roll.She was happy to have a friend now.A person she could share her fun with.She loved the thought that she didnt have to be afraid of being alone.

I smile brightly at her. The only time 'It' doesnt lurk around my brain to see when, is the times i am happy. "What time is it?" I say. Now that 'it' came to mind, i dont want to be in the dark around Kristen. 'it' could kill her.
