Well, that didn't happen with the March horse either. It's rare now, and I'll never get one because people WILL NOT give them up for anything other than real money or a HUGE overpay, which is not fair. Even if they have multiples of them.

I'm seriously about to give up on CS. This over-hyped bull is not fair. CS never used to be this bad with getting at least one of every pet. Never. I just want ONE.

My wish list looks like that, but the only groups I have WL locked are groups from that year, so I think that;s fair. That only bothers me, if they want VR's for 2011 pets D:

I had to remove my hoard pets after someone offered two hoard pets from last month and added a random 2010 rare horse,
and asked for a Uncommon pet on my side plus my VR 09' Rat in my trade groups. (x___x)

And sadly, I agree wholeheartedly with you.
I admit it now here, that the over-hype issue on CS has irritated me and frustrated me to no end.
I can't fully explain the anger I have for it, it'll just lead to some.. pretty unpleasent words and I don't want that.
It's becoming a pain to experience, especially since I experienced it quite a lot of times already.

The worst is when people who know the UR Butterdog it being overhyped,
they know people are overpaying too unfairly for it,
and they even admit it that it's being over-valued plus over-hyped,
yet they say it's technically fair DUE to the over-hype.

No.. just no.
It never works that way.
Over-hype means unnecessary over-valuing of a pets true worth, before it's rarity is even revealed.
It doesn't justify an unfair overpay on an Unknown rarity pet just because.

To me, and Unknown rarity pet is treated as an Uncommon till it gets it's rarity.

And mind you, the people who ask for 2008 or 2009 rares, technically they are in a way "scamming" some users.
I know obviously not everyone is doing this, there are genuinely nice people who really don't mind overoffering.
But newer or less experienced users ending up offering too much just because someone said they should, that's not fair.
Even if it turns out rare, it isn't going to be worth a 2008 Rare or Very Rare.

What, maybe it becomes OMGSR?
If that happens, then I seriously have nothing to say then. XDD

Broken system is broken. The game isn't made for players to assign rarities. CS makes the pets, they make the rarities. I'm not overpaying for something that isn't worth what people are asking for.

Why pay that much for an Unknown Rarity?
I understand if it was their own choice to offer that much for those pets, but doesn't mean it was fair.
I know it's their decision, but just because they did- doesn't automatically mean everyone who want's to offer must offer as much as they did.

If I offered a Joker for a BA, does that mean I have the right to ask for a Joker or more if someone want's my BA?
It wouldn't be fair to force them to offer equal or more then what I did; it was my choice to offer that- doesn't mean it was fair.

It's like a vicious cycle honestly.

Unknown Rarity suddenly becomes worth a 09' Very Rare,
person who got it won't accept anything less then a 09' Very Rare and someone else overoffers with a 08' Rare,
this person won't accept anything lesser then that, another person ends up overoffering a 08' Very Rare,
and suddenly an Unknown Rarity pet is worth a 08' Very Rare,
then the people who paid that much for it might not want to make any losses,
ends up asking for equally high demands for the pet because of the offer they made for it when it was Unknown.

This. This is why there's a rarity system. Because asking someone to overpay just because YOU overpaid, even if you were being "nice" or "generous" is not fair whatsoever.
