~Menolly~
She stared at him for a moment, looking for any sign that this apology was a trick. A ruse to lull her into a false sense of security. It didn't seem like he was one to use such cunning, but in a world like this.... it was hard to tell. So she examined him, his words, his body language, and tried her best to figure out what his game was. His speech was much different from before. Besides actually being in English, his words where.... eloquent. Something she definitely had not expected from the beast of a man who raged war against her friends with the vigor of an animal attacking its prey. Yet, in this strange land, where it seemed that the common dragon and firelizard where virtually nonexistent, pardoning her own clutch, she did realize how, to one who had grown up thinking things that covered her land and planet so commonly, where, as he put it, demonic and bad luck, such would be considered a threat. And though she was a bit miffed at being called a witch, since magic was something she had never, and would never do, she sensed he didn't do this often, and therefore it was, likely as not, sincere. In Pern, the crime he had committed by raising hand -or, more accurately, sword- against her creatures would have resulted in deep punishment.... but just as he was not in -what did he call it?- Italy, she was no longer in Pern.
"Sir, I am no more a witch than you are a bird. Never have I dabbled in Dak Arts and tis doubtful I ever will." she began, doing her best to match his speech. She spoke into the language changer, hoping that it would work vice versa. "However, due to your eloquent speech, I shall willingly overlook such a label you hath bestowed upon me. As for my demons, as you call them, know that they are none such things. In this land, foreign to us both, tis' quite obvious things work differently from both our homes. So know that, these are no more than animals, whereas you are concerned. They have wings like the birds, and bodies like the lizards. And though smarter than the average beast, they come not from the Dark One, but from a simple egg, fragile as any. They mean no harm, at least until you raise hand or voice to me. They are my friends, who only wish to defend me, not hurt others. However thye know my emotion, and because I felt anger towards you that day, so they did too." she told him, her voice turning to the respectful tone she used with the Lord Holders. She figured that he, who was apparently of importance in his own land, would prefer that. "And now as I shall accept your apology, please accept mine, as it was my own emotion that fueled their attack."
Meanwhile, Scipio watched from the side, arms crossed as the girl with the interesting beasts accepted the mans apology. This rude man, whether they came from the same place or not, had questioned his title after all! He denied the importance of the Thief Lord, and than used his bulk to try to harm him. And though Scipio quite obviously attacked as well, he still felt miffed at the acceptance the girl was bestowing upon him.
