Bay was glad no horse died in the fire. She smelled a weird scent, something she remembered from her childhood fire. Singed flesh. She looked down and saw her left foreleg had been burned.

Zenati stood on the other side of the lake, shaking out her soaked mane before trotting away from the other horses; stallions in particular.
