Jade snorted. Smelling smoke she whined and pawed at the ground. She sloped across the water and galloped off

Berlin stopped and flared his nostrils, loping back to his two mares when the acidic smell of smoke reached him. He nipped them on the rumps and whinnied, "let's go! Across the water."

Bay felt restless. She pawed the ground and threw her head up and whinnied a whiny of alarm.

Zentai fliked hr gaze when she saw the horses below starting to go across the water, and looked around. It took longer for the mare to catch the scent of the smoke, being higher than a few. When she did, she laid her long ears back, racing down the slope.

She watched the horses and smelled smoke, she pawed the ground and took off running

Bay was stunned. She just stood there watching in terror as the smoke rises from the edge of the field. Memories came flooding back. She was just a foal her herd in a panic of the quickly approaching fire. She was lost. "Mom?!" sHe ran around looking but couldn't see past the smoke and commotion. She fell down, the smoke overwhelming her

Berlin used his weight and rammed into the mare's side. "We have to move, Bay!" he screamed. "Just to the other side of the meadow. The fire can't reach us there."
