I looked at the candy-colored Capitol, disgusted. I was scwinting at the bright light that seemed to raideate off the too-bright buildings and statues. The light coming off the builds hurt my eyes, and I instead watched the elevator door. I sucked on whatever was left of my candy stick as the elevator door opened. I sighed in relief. No more of those overly colorful buildings. "So what'd you wanna do first?" I asked Cog, looking around.

Christopher continued to watch the boy, his amber eyes predatory. "Yeah. Guess you're right." he replied briefly, his tail swishing agitatedly. He still couldn't seem to control it's movement. He tapped the wall with his claws, and they made soft, rhythmic clicking sounds each time they made contact with the smooth metal. He tensed slightly when the boy asked if he had family. What was he doing? Why was he trying to get to know him? In a matter of days, they would literally be at each other's throats.

Well, it wouldn't really do him any harm - it was sort of a pointless bit of information. "Yeah. I have a big family." he added in a low voice. "How old was the kid - the one you volunteered for?" he asked, curiousity overwhelming his desire to be cryptic and mysterious. His gaze shifted to the boy's broad wings, which were folded behind his back but still visible. The wings could prove problematic if this boy was his enemy, since air attacks could be difficult to fend off.

''dont know, didnt really care. its better for me to die than them.'' he replied stretching. ''in fact, I think ill do one last thing before I die. Can we be allies? if you win then thats one less family to be pulled into depression.'' If he could ally this boy, maybe he could do one last good deed before leaving this world.

Chris looked at the other boy curiously. As much as he hated to admit it, it was really brave for the guy to volunteer his life in place of another's - someone he didn't even know. His amber eyes studied the bird boy's face - he seemed to be quite open and didn't seem bloodythirsty. "Allies..." he mused, tapping his claws on the metal wall once again. He usually preferred to work alone - even when he was back in District Eight. He felt much more efficient that way.

Chris locked eyes with the eagle boy, then slowly extended his hand for him to shake. "I usually work alone... But it might be good to go into these games with an ally. But I swear - if you betray me - I won't hesitate to kill you." his voice dropped to a threatening growl at the end of the sentence, "Well, what are your strengths?"

''well Im fast, thanks to these wings. im good with a bow and with sythes. im also ok with traps. and thanks.'' he replied. he had an ally. now he could try to make this games count. by helping Christopher he could help 2 families instead of just the one back in district 9.

"Speed. Speed is good." Chris mumbled, running his fingers through his hair, "And you can fly - right? So that's good for search and destroy sort of tactics." he cast his eyes down to the floor, thinking. His tail lashed behind him, "I'm not too bad with a bow either - but the scythe thing is good. I'm not too good with close-quarter combat." he bit his lip thoughtfully, but immediately felt a shooting pain and stopped - he still had to get used to the sharp teeth.

He began to pace a bit - partially because he was nervous, and partially because he was trying to concentrate. "I dunno if you'll be able to find a scythe in the arena, but who knows? Maybe the gamemakers will put some unusual weapons in the cornucopia. And as for traps - do you think you could catch more than animals?" with these words, he turned his eyes back to the other boy's, "What's your name again?"

''i suppose so. if i make them big enough. here watch my aim.'' he said grabbing a bow and hitting a dummy in the crotch. ''now that has to hurt.''

Zom'grul|district 6| king cobra

''Names Zom'grul, district 6. you?'' he asked. he wanted to get back training but it was better to try and get friendly with some tributes to avoid some conflict from the start.

"Okay, then. I'm pretty good with snares, but I'm better at hunting with a bow. It'll be good if you can help with bigger traps. We can always catch tributes too... I mean, I'm not excited to kill anyone, but I really should try to get back to my family." Chris said, "Not that I expect too." he shrugged, "It's almost always a career who wins."

He watched curiously as the bird boy shot at the dummy, hitting it in a place that would probably incapacitate any tribute - especially the males. He let out a laugh, "Nice shot." he picked up a throwing knife, then threw it in the air, letting it flip before catching the hilt neatly. "But maybe we should try to kill them in one shot." in one fluid motion, Christopher let the knife fly, and it buried itself in the same dummy's face. "Not too bad for someone who has claws instead of fingernails, eh?"
