@critics:
Thank you all so much for the critique. <3
Let me explain a few things:
• The whipping was a memory. It was a past punishment.
• I don't intend for Hurricane to be published, so I know it's a lot like Hunger Games.
• You will find out things like what a Cleansing
Is later.
• Well, in the first chapter, it's character introductions, so naturally it's boring.
• The part about so-and-so got _______ amount of Cleansings, that was intended. I have a planned plotline, and that detail WILL be imprtant.
see ya sweet peas <3

I am in no way trying to sound rude or mean or anything, so don't take it that way, and feel free to totally reject/ignore what I'm about to say;
Don't you normally want the first chapter to be interesting? Other wise people may start reading it, get bored with it, and never go back and finish?
Just a thought of my part. . . :3

@Tangy-Watermelons
I seeee....
Your story is pretty cool though, if you gave a bit more detail it would be better.

Well... I'd start by putting some words on a page, then try rearranging them to make a sentence or two. XDD
But seriously, I'd think of a plot and a few characters before you start.

Good ideas, but when you have the plot and ideas ready...how do you really
start a novel? I'm having some trouble writing my first part because there is so many ways you could start it.

Do you want a few examples on how I've started some of my stuff? Maybe that can help you start your own novel.
