The blonde feels a little bad for not accepting Flicker's handshake, but as he opens his mouth to apologize, the horses, one a chesnut brown and the other a pure white, take off. Kale stumbles a little, trying to keep from falling over, and he assumes the unreadable, impassive expression his stylist told him to take. ...He really does resemble a ghost like this, dressed in all this white with his ears perked up to pick up all the sounds of the crowd.

I stare into the crowd, my eyes wide and obviously full of fear. What do I do? I think in a small panic, What do I say? I looked from side to side and the masses of people all looking at us, their faces a mixture of amazement, fear, and disgust. I look like a freak, don't I? I think, the stress getting to me. I almost break but force myslef to smile at the crowd and wave delicately, showing off my ears and tail. I almost gasp when I see Kale, his pale makeup making him resemble a ghost almost too perfectly. "Woah.." I whisper quietly.

He doesn't get a reply from the fox tribute, because the horse's start up and they're paraded around the arena. Cog's face twists into a scowl, showing off the teeth that were strong enough to break a turtle shell, and he remains like that- short, mindblowingly skinny, and menacing for the rest of the parade. The first thing he does when it's over and his district partner exits the chariot{And then slaps a bird boy in the face, he sees} is massage his jaw to make sure his face doesn't stick in a scowl forever, and step out of the chariot himself. He doesn't even wait for an order from his mentor, and just heads towards the elevator to be taken to the third floor of the training center.

The tall boy doesn't even look at the crowd as the chariot parades around, staring straight ahead with the occasional look at Flicker. She really looked so young as sweet- reminded him of his sisters, actually. He has to work to keep himself from giving a grin at the though, and he just looks right ahead for the remaining duration of the ride.

As the chariot races forward, I can't help but think of what the other tribute before us were like. Were they nervous, or anxious? Shy, like myself, or fun and outgoing? Did they have a family? I realize it was much to gruesome to think about and continue to wave at the eager crowd. Every once and awhile I blow a kiss, although it's small and almost unnoticable.

I rode one of the elevators up to my floor and ran to my room, eager to get some real clothes on. I got rid of that stupid bikini, slipped on a robe and opened the dresser drawers, looking for something comfortable to wear. After what seemed like forever, I found a T-shirt and sadly, I ended up settling for a pair of skinny jeans, which felt to tight and hot. So I switched them out with shorts. Note to self, fur plus full sized pants equals too much warmth. I thought to myself, letting out a little laugh before I left my room bare-footed to find the dining room. I was starving, and Clote had come up a bit earlier knocking on my door and telling me to go down to eat. I reached the dining room and found that I was all alone. I sighed and leaned back in my chair. For some reason, it felt wrong to eat by myself, even though I'd been doing that since my parents had died. I stroked my furry tail as I waited for someone to join me.

I didn't even bother getting undressed or going down to eat when my mentor yelled at me, stormed into my room, slapped me and left. Instead I laid on my bed, trying to fall asleep. It wasn't like there was anything else to do. But there was. I should probably make some allies, but for some reason, I didn't feel like it. I was either not in the mood to make 'friends' who would later kill me, or I was tried or, more likely, lazy.
