[Well I think that would be kinda funny if they ran into each other on the same train before getting to the capitol. And they would fuel up at each district.]

Daciana closed her eyes and took a breath, counting down backwards from ten. Roboticly calmly, Dace sat down on her bed, feeling the vibrations of the train rock her slightly. She pulled her long hair back and began to braid it, the familiar action oddly calming. Getting up, she walked over to a small mirror mounted on the wall and stared at herself. Same brown hair, same amber eyes, same stern face. So why did she feel so different? Dace felt as if she was not actually to be participating in the games, and was simply a spectator to this part- probably near the end- of her own life.

Melanie had just awoken, excited to go and talk to her brother, when it dawned on her. This was not her normal room. She had said goodbye to her family and friends last night, and was on her way to the Capitol. Not to mention that she would be competing in a Quarter Quell, where there were sure to be plenty of surprises. She doubted she would be able to come back home. She rose from her bed and quickly combed her hair before going out into the hall, looking for someone that she could talk to.

Clover finished eating, then walked out of the dining hall and crashed into Melanie.

Melanie almost fell over, but caught herself at the last second. She had been leaning against the wall next to the door, probably not the best place to be. "Oh, jeez, are you okay?" She asked.

Clover blinked after catching herself. "Yeah. Sorry, I didn't see you." She said, shifting akwardly.

"Oh, no problem." Mel said lightly. It was probing in the back of her mind that she might have to kill this girl, but she still held out her hand and said, "I'm Melanie."

"I'm Clover Rose." Clover said, shaking Mel's hand. "But just call me Clover." It probed in the back of her mind that one of them might wind up killing the other, but she ignored it and smiled.
